Hey thanks man, to be honest some just don't attack each other and there might be a mod to make them attack each other but I'm not sure. I just try different combos of bugs and hope that they fight. I'm not sure why but the AI of some of the bugs just makes it so they don't fight unless it us a player.
The mantis is actually horrible. Hated every second of that boss fight and this video proves why. WAYYY too much health and it does a ridiculous amount of damage as well.
It's crazy that the mantis beats the IBM. The black widow beat the mantis when I first tried playgrounds. It was able to get the mantis stuck in webs and out heal the bleed damage.
I have defeated every single boss in grounded except one ... 'The Moldy Matriarch' aka the Infected Broodmother and when I say every single boss I mean it Asst. Manager or @$$ Man as I like to call him defeated, Mant defeated, 'The Mother Demon' aka the Hedge Broodmother defeated, Wasp queen defeated, 'The Assassin' aka the Orchid Mantis defeated, Director Dalton Schmector defeated, the infected ladybug mini-boss of the haze lab defeated, the Termite King mini-boss in the logpile defeated.
Oh wow man, good job! Some of those are really hard! I personally had a tough time with the Orchid Mantis but eventually got past it. Eight now I'm preparing to fight the 'Moldy Matriarch' 😅
Now that i have seen how WEAK the moldy matriarch is compared to the assassin i feel confident about killing that infected broodmother and i am defeating it before i go to new game + 1 because i need to know that i can defeat it when it ISN'T infused to be able to tell if it is even possible to defeat whether infused or not cuz then i will be more confident about defeating the infused version

love how the devs changed their attacks and behaviors as their health get lower. man the mantis is scary. both bosses should be part of story mode imo
Yeah I love the little details like that in Grounded, I agree, if they could incorporate the bosses into story mode somehow that would be awesome!

it wasnt super suprising considering mantis resists everything but salty, but it was still a great fight nonetheless

Yeah the Mantis has a tough attack pattern to learn. And it has way to much health as you said, I've only managed to kill it a couple times lol!

To me the mantis is the most badass grounded boss, and also the best designed.
I agree, the Mantis is definitely my favorite boss in the game, the arena where you fight it in game fits very well as well.

The mantis refreshes its hp while the ibm is down kinda unfair. If it would not , i doubt mantis could even get to phase 3.
It is a tad unfair isn't it, the Mantis is pretty strong though!
