This place makes the Winchester Mystery House seem totally sane.
How the fuck can you even compare the two? WMH has, what, a few weird staircases and doors?
I'm confused as to why a proper horror movie hasn't been filmed here yet (or has it been?) This place is soooooo awesome. 👍👍👍
Jenny Barson ...no it gave me nightmares
Jenny Barson...lol
Gary Crow Aw come on Gary just embrace the stuff of nightmares 😝
Insidious would be the closest one
At night all the mannequins come to life and roam the House! Lol. That music playing in the doll house section was horrifying!
That is BY FAR the coolest antique firearm collection i have ever laid my eyes upon
I'm amazed to think of all the time and effort to put this entire collection together.
i am the only who think that if you got sucked into an i spy book that this is what it would be like
Jackie Manuel that was actually my immediate reaction. Those books always had a dusty eerieness to their design that I couldn't pin point on the outside world till I saw the House on the Rock.
Now that you mentioned it...
That was such a surreal experience! VERY cool.
Growing up in Wisconsin, I've never been here. I think I need to change that.
SweetKeri24 don't go in winter. Not all areas are open or heated
I think I took it for granted growing up. Live out of the state now and wish I could go visit. Definitely check it out
@@derekmckaig5977 They decorate it with Santa's everywhere at Christmas time, it is just Beautiful..Going in the winter is awesome as well.
I have been going to The House On The Rock since 1977. It has changed and grown very much. Back then, there was only
a gatehouse, mill, house on the rock, outside craft exhibits and the I think the streets of Yesteryear were not yet open ! Went back the next year and they were open. We were on the way to the Experimental Aircraft Assoc Flying at Oskosh, Wisc. Was back in 1982 and most of the other rooms were open. They all were being built when I was there in 1978, but not open. Last trip I made was in 1986 when I was on sabbatical from teaching and almost all the things that are there today was open. There may be some new collections, but most were there. The place was not in the slightest bit creepy - just fascinating ! The is my favorite tourist attraction of all and I have traveled quite a bit ! I must except National and State Parks . Wonderful video, Jacob ! You showed this very well ! Most people are not aware that The House On The Rock exists ?
.
I just finished all three parts, back to back. What an experience! It's much more than I ever dreamed. Wow!
Oh dear Lord! Clowns!...mannequins! Dolls! Jacob...get out of there and never go back! I now have PTSD!
I never knew I wanted to go to Wisconsin but apparently I do now.
+technicoloryawntapes its deceptively amazing
this is by far my favorite part of the house. I love doll houses. just because they're miniature houses. I've had a passion for architectural pieces especially house. I had my eye on one of those Victorian doll houses that you build but never got it.
Just watching the video makes me feel kind of exhausted!
Great Video Carpet bagger, keep going. The House on the Rock is sensory overload, it is a constant assault on your brain. With no break, nothing to cleans your palate. Crazy and I loved going there.
the carousel room is absolutely terrifying
kat joyce yes!!! I thought I was the only one...
That place is insane! I love it !!
Really loved this series! I can understand how bringing a small child there would be way too overwhelming. I was thinking about it while watching and as a kid I would have been tearing my parents apart to get me out of there. Also kids are "hands on" and the doll room would have been too much for me to be told I could not play in there. My son on the other hand probably would have done well and just ran through exploring. smh Kids are so different. Anyway, great series, keep em coming!
LOL yeah esp that room with the freaky clown the "organ" room looks like something that ya would expect IT to appear from :O
I was 11 the first time I went, probably about the right age. The dolls and things like that are all behind glass. Allow HOURS to see the whole place. Nice food court, fudge shop, extra.
Pretty awesome and pretty creepy my two most favorite things!
Thank you so much for taking me to places I never knew existed. Please continue your fabulous work.
I'm glad they reopened this section.
Now I gotta go back!
One imagines that the House's creative team is now having a ball backstage, working on their Halloween treats.
That band of automated puppets reminds me of Thunderbirds with their bushy eyebrows and blank expressions.
I was just there on Friday with my brother and I think my brain is still spinning. One of the coolest things I happen to catch was in the organ room. In one part there is a giant copper beer stein with what appears to be a krampus on it, my brother is 6'4 and he could have fit in it with just the top of his head sticking out.
I absolutely loved this series. I have now added the house on the hill onto my must-do list. Thanks for showing it!
TIL: I need to add House on the Rock to my bucket list.
The 3 barrel gun is a deck gun from the tall ship era when fighting a boarding party
Really intense 3 part video. Very educational, interesting and "weird".
this place is like a madman's dream and by that I mean it's wonderful
That mannequin orchestra is like the Automaton band from The Abominable Dr. Phibes, but on a much grander scale.
Thank you for the great video series!! Loved it!! Sad it's over but happy it happened!! I look forward to the next!
Just moved to WI and super psyched to add this attraction to this year's road trip list!!
Nothing else like the House on the Rock, enjoyed your coverage.
That is the most epic place I have ever seen! Thank you for taking us along.
Saw things that I forgot about when we visited there 2 years ago. Going back this year and can't wait. Thanks for the videos
Being that I am an avid doll collector I loved the dolls and I also use to build miniature houses so I loved your video today!! Thanks!!!
I think this place comes to life at night like night at the museum! I would hate working there and being the one to have to clean all them dolls and mannequins at night! Creepy
I wonder who cleans all that for dust and cobb webs? and how long it takes? or does the stuff come alive at nite and clean themselves?
Gary Crow it’s really dusty and dingy in there, and smells musty.
I gotta watch this a few times. So much to see. The lighting and audio elements make it so awesome. Hard to pick a favorite display or room. This series makes me wanna research the house and the man.
What can I say?!!! Wow!!! This is one of those places I would DEFINITELY go visit! Thank you so much for this video!!! Happy trails to you, my friend!👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘
Cool! I am really happy someone did a video on this place. I went there once as a child and always wanted to revisit it!
Thank you so much for this 3 part vlog. You've done very good job. Thanks again.
I been bored and have plenty of time on my hands laitly with the pandemic on our hands to watch you roadside excursions and this one by Far is my very Favorite! Hope you can get out there soon and make plenty more videos.I hope one day we can get back to normal and go see some of these places. You are so lucky to be able to have seen these. wonderful places Keep taping my friend!!
I'm surprised the Circus Room doesn't have a Laffin' Sal!
The next time I go,I really need to examine that weapons collection more closely...I get so overwhelmed by the mechanical orchestra and that collection of animated jewelry store displays (which you didn't mention),I just walk right past the weapons.
That bathroom with the taxidermy animals is new (to me)...those must've been in that small restaurant they had years ago,the one you could stop at midway through the Organ Room.
+snarkus63 really to much to take in on one trip
I recommend checking out the Forevertron in North Freedom, Wi.
This place is my kind of crazy. I hope that I can go and see it for myself one day. Thanks and thanks for the postcard too!!
Went here as a kid. What an amazing place. Really hard to describe to people.
This place just blows my mind, it's a sensory overload, I swear one day I'm coming here.
Cool place !
On the other hand, what a hoarder! Lol Thanks for sharing this. My Grandmother has always talked about this place, but I've never been there. She tried to explain it, but I didn't realize how huge it is!
Mind blowing! Very awesome videos on this... I would love to visit. Thanks for all you do! 🤗
Fantastical place! Never heard of it before, though I only live one state away. Amazing how a like-minded proprietor added to and continues to fulfill the original creator's vision to this day. Makes you wonder about the future of this curious creation. It takes a certain sensibility to manage an eccentric attraction of this extravagant scale.
The multi-barreled gun is a deck clearing gun for high ranking people on ships.
Thanks for the tour
For me your best series of vlog
Fantastic place, thanks Jacob
This place is insane!!
I think that place is incredible. I posted this to my Facebook and my MeWe pages. I posted the House On The Rock site to my Facebook, MeWe pages plus on GAB and Twitter. I think it is really cool.
You absolutely hilarious 😂 I loved this place so happy you had a video it's really hard to explain this place thanks 🙂
@CarpetbaggerI love your videos! They make me want to visit these spots so much. Great work and keep it up! By the way, has anyone ever told you that you look like Jake Blues from the Blues Brothers? LOL Just kidding
omg I have been dreaming about going there for years. thank you
That place is great thanks for showing us, Jacob
I watched all of American Gods yesterday, can't wait for season 2, when they get to House on the Rock.
I was there yesterday, totally surreal! I loved it!!
Getting an ax gun for Christmas LOL - shooting and chopping, shooting and chopping.
I never even knew about this place! I watched 1 & 2, I gotta go here someday, and never leave... ha ha... WOW!
loved all 3 parts!
It might be a tourist trap and fake but I went back in the 90s when I was 10 or 12 and it's still one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
This place is fantastic! I love it and need to go there!!!
Sensory overload!!
+Rosey H exactly
Spectacular!
Love this place! One of a kind for sure
This one is in the bag great video
Thank you again, so glad. Now i am off to check your map to see if you have been to Frankenmuth Mi yet.
+Lisa Rushka not yet
Frankenmuth has the worlds largest Christmas store. I think my youtube page has a little video I did last year.
💘 love it. Thanks for sharing
Yes also really glad they allow video in there
I would love to go there, I very much like museums and oddities like this. My whole house in itself has a sense of whimsy to it, so this is my kind of place.
It only took 50 cents to run that entire huge room of mannequins? This place is surreal.
+Laura Bow it's nuts
Prince Charles is in the band at 11:28. I love this place and have been twice. Warning: the walk out is not for the faint of heart--especially on a humid Wisconsin summer day.
Great assessment of the Awesome House on the Rock. Awesome and fantastic, yet weird, creepy and bizarre. When you leave you feel like you have been so overwhelmed. Disappointing though that the self playing instruments don't play the music anymore (at least not 20 years ago, that was the last time I was there). The music is just played through speakers and the instruments play along. Lip syncing violins. LOL
wow i,d love to go there its amazing thanks Jacob for sharing it ,we dont have anything like this here in the UK . famine is what you couldn't remember
This whole place is amazing!!!
my sister is so scared of dolls and she hates the doll area and is so scared whenever we go, but i love the doll house room because the houses are so big and cool
Amazing place. I would really going to enjoy that
The carousel is awesome!
15:57 Behold! The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch!
Darn. I was going to say that! lol
Amazing!
After watching the entire tour I'm thinking Frank Lloyd Wright got it right. I feel like you need therapy after a visit to this place. Thanks for sharing it.
That's awesome
I looked at your map and you haven't been to City Museum in St. Louis MO!!!! A misleading name for sure as it's like a giant playhouse for all ages. Many different floors with an outdoor and rooftop experience! I remember a huge dragon, you can climb through tunnels in the ceiling, and there are extremely tall spiral metal slides! One of my favorite places ever. Extremely whimsical and interactive! You MUST visit and document!!!!
+LemonShrimp I've been there but before I started filming. Amazing place!
YAAAAsss!!! The four horsemen!!!!
what a cool and unique place
Awesome place
Hard to identify what the creepiest part is, but I'd have to submit that it's the robotic orchestra of nightmares at 9:17
so awesome what a col place.
Just went there today
I don't have a clown phobia, but that one clown... I want it. It's disturbing.
Love that place, my boyfriend swears he will propose to me at the house on the rock.
I can't believe its all in one spot! I'd love to see it someday!
I really wanna go
That bathroom belongs inside of my man cave!
