And David is also a good friend of Takumi Kurosawa, a former Nissan GT-R engine production leader who has a passion for Z as well. These two elements bring an inspiration for David to talk about the Nissan Z from a different perspective - in fact, in this video, David provides 17 surprises or things that you should know about the new Z.

I enjoy your objectivity when evaluating cars, especially because you know all the processes to manufacture. Also, especially your quantitative analysis when looking at panel gaps, paint millage, you really detail the real quality irrespective of design. I'm interested to know how design eases the ability to manufacture at such quality or hides a lack of quality sometimes, especially with mixed materials.
What a beautiful, amazing sports car.
I wish that Nissan would have built the "Z" off a new platform, but they decided instead to reskin the new "Z" off the old Z34 platform.
Mainly due to their budget constraints. But they did do an excellent job of styling, improving the powertrain and structural rigidity of the car.
I’m sure Nissan is broke right now.
It’s why the R35 GTR hasn’t been updated yet.
They don’t want to admit it. They’re reusing parts and whatnot like crazy.
Pathfinder however must’ve been a huge push financially compared to their other cars.
I didn't know that Nissan was almost broke. They were heading that way a few years ago. That's why they are still building several parts bin cars.
$ cheaper this way, otherwise it would have been an $80k car
@@faheemabbas3965Yea they are broke alright, thats why new cars keep showing up on the lot ... 🙄
@@ACommenterOnCZcams no Z's tho, grr
the fact he measured panel gaps and paint thickness. wow
Love the design, so simple yet,, it still has the swagger!
Z is Nissan telling their fans: *“We hear you want an affordable, manual Z. We give you what you want.”*
Supra is Toyota telling their fans: *”We think you should be driving BMW. We still want your money.”*
David, great review - love your work. Look forward to future reviews. Best Wishes
A very good review, as always.
Huge Z fan here...240, 280, 280zx, 300zx, 300z, 350, G35. Maybe Nismo Z but it's gonna take a lot to get me out of my G35 Coupe.
The 10th point is probably the highlight and makes me happy that it´s still as good as they once built it!
2022, 2023 models??? Now into 2024 model year & still none on the road #1 surprise should have been cars are on the way to dealers around the US
Good stuff. Well said ❤
So exited and happy to see that Japanese iconic sportscar still on production very well made and still very but very competitive not only with its main rival the GR Supra but also with the German rivals! Still waiting news about the new GTR! I do hope that you re going to inform us immediately if you hear something about that. Here in Germany the Z its has been very popular and still is one of the last sportscars who someone can get for reasonable money. I personally use on my cars only Bridgestone tires they re for me the best tires even as winter tires are always the best. Only Good year got some good tires high performance and some tires who in North America are nt offered and i mean these tires which we call here All season and Bridgestone lately has brought a similar tire which has get the best EU ratings on wet pavement . The Weather control OO5! Great tires.
240-260z front, 300zx 2nd gen back and 350/370z proportions
Always loved the Z. My college days had a 280ZX, and I have a 04 G35 coupe as a Z for grown up. The new Z is nice, but I can’t bring myself to sell my G coupe.
Love it. Want to see different colors
Rosewood metallic is a knockout in base version with grey split 5 spokes, if only they were produced
Reminds me of the 240Z and 280Z I saw in the East African Safari Rally when I was 10!
it´s a good 2 door Sporty GT Coupe for a fair price 👍
David, I have more nostalgic feelings for the Datsun 510 especially the wagon. 😉
I hope they fix the failing breaks here in OZ that dealers don’t want to know about
I had an 81 280ZX Turbo. Beautiful car except the turbo went out every 5k miles. Sold it before the warranty expired!
I am interested in the Z but have seen only one in real life, yellow with a black roof on I-4 driven by an elderly man. My brother had a yellow 240Z back in the '70's so I would like to buy the new car but it is impossible in FL without paying a ridiculous premium.
I saw 1 boulder gray Z on Aloma & Tuscawilla .. thats the ONLY 1 i seen in person so far.
Heard from dealer mechanic that have a lot of issues with engine. So not reliable like older ones.
Not really engine reliability, but turbo reliability, almost every problem that would occur comes solely from the turbos. However that was a problem with the old q50 and q60s, the new zs have different and more refined turbos.
Sorry, I loved the 1970s Z's. These are close but no cigar.
I love this Car, im just debating om justifying the price, maybe that means I shouldn't be buying it lol
Nice review but over 2 year delay and still can’t get them. I had planned on getting the new Z but Nissan screwed it up. I was lucky enough to get an A91-MT Supra last fall for MSRP and couldn’t be happier as it is an awesome car.
You got a BMW ....
@@ACommenterOnCZcams So
u forgot point 18, THE CAR IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE! i have put down a deposit(preorder) in canada since january of 2022 and still have not received any information from nissan canada or the dealership
same here in Australia, deposit put in November 21 and nope, no car
Got a used one from Carmax 3 weeks ago
Hopefully Nissan will build the roadster version soon.
Ahh .... this IS a roadster 🤦🏽♂️
Zed is the right pronunciation David, we Europeans say Zed so that it’s right..I like the new Zed but I don’t like the banana yellow.
You're watching this on CZcams. An American company. It's pronounced Z
@@chriskeo392. No. Your only a colony country, we Europeans are your masters..😂😂😂😂
I love the Z. But boy did you see that paint job? Really bad.
I love Nissan. But,the electrical problems. Can you ask him to improve the wiring on the Nissan. Because it’s annoying to me and Asian communities. Thanks
How about some inventory as a fact? There are hardly any in US. This car had potential to be as popular as the 240/260/270 & 280s. Instead it's a dud.
More proof than nissan doesn't listen ti customers, instead if this z they should make real xterra based on the new frontier and sell more units, also if they put a 450hp twin turbo on the titan they will sell like hot cakes, but no, they want to die slowly!
As if Toyota listened as well ... 🙄
this car just came out and is already 10years outdated
The only true Z was the 240.
:The only true z was the 240
300zx enter the chat 😂😂
The 240 was a 4 banger, the 260 had a V-6, and the 280 had 8 cylinders. 😂
@@illuminaughty2929 240 was an inline 6
@@illuminaughty2929Huh? The 240Z had the L24 engine. The Datsun 510 had the L16 engine.
Zs never had 4s, They all had 6s. The Model #s matched the Displacement of the engine. Best Z was 76 to 78.
Idk how it looks in person but online, it doesn't look good at all.
Looks better in person IMO.
You said zed too many times so I quit watching.
True that, he did keep repeating Zed over and over ...
That grill is hideous
Yeah. Bad call by Ohkoshi-san.
Not when you see in person.
@@jonathanbilling2131 I check it out.
@@dtna I think he was going after the 2000 which is a beautiful car
Surprise #18... after so much time they still made an ugly car smdh
Same as Toyota screwed up the Supra name with that BMW crap
Hi David!
I love the new Z what I don’t like is it doesn’t have an interior leather package. The inside of the new vehicle in my opinion is made with very cheap materials. If they would offer a full leather package that would be fantastic in my opinion.🇯🇵🤍❤️🇨🇦
