I love the Repulse. Very fun to play, and very nice to have an ap focused british bb. Also I would actually recommend a concealment build on Repulse. With the right mods, Repulse has a 8km detection range. Very useful for disengaging from battle if your under unsustainable fire, aided by speed boast and high speed. Repulse has very good firing angles too, making her good at kiting away. This kiting concealment tactic allows you to hold flanks. For example, I manage to fend of a New Mexico and Black Iron duke with this tactic, killing the Duke and leaving the New Mexico on next to no health. A Very nice ship.
Yeah, that sounds like a pretty good build as well. Definitely not a ship that's obvious how to play, though, so I think a lot of people will be somewhat disappointed.
@@sonnyrockwel1266 Yeah, and you will have to face destroyers at some point, and NO battleship AP shells are going to be good at killing them! Not to mention that British battleship's HE is usually better than any other nationality at killing destroyers. So its a no-brainer that if you're playing a British battleship, and there's more than 1 destroyer on the enemy team, you'd want to start out your game with HE loaded, NOT AP... In some cases, its probably better just to stay in HE all battle, even against enemy cruisers and battleships, especially if the enemy battleships have poor defense against fires, like most Japanese, German, Italian, and French ships. Only the American battleships are reliably good at fire-resistance, so using AP is probably best against them.
You know, I've often thought to myself that if ships had souls; despite being sunk in battle, and has the ability of foresight; they may think "at least I can live on in video games and do what I'm designed to do and win battles". That's some deep thinking.
Revisiting this, I use Repulse a fair amount… I have both of the camos, I actually use the unicorn camo a fair amount. Adding insult to injury being sunk by a pretty unicorn(that my 8yr old daughter loves) lol. Also I like the added bonus to the turning circle. It’s a really fun ship.
I think you should keep reviewing premium ships which come via Blitz Pass as this is the sort of game purchase I do make. Never do the crate thing BUT I buy gold & about 2/3 of the Blitz Pass offerings...
Christmas came a day early, oh I meant Repulse video lol. Awesome review as always. We’ve seen this b4 oh that’s right this is a T6 version of the Champagne but with Trollish dispersion. Yea you should of said make sure to take off your top 100 tag or any other tag while playing this ship Bc if you get cv focused plus another u will not last long.
I had games where I was getting focused early - not much you can do. But playing her from the rear, using the range and speed, she's actually really fun to play. Especially in mid-tier, where she allows you to switch flanks quickly to compensate for your team's positioning.
I’m having a lm absolute blast with her! I love ships like this fast and hard hitting! Getting the blitz pass was very much worth it this time around! Also I didn’t know that Indomitable was part of force z either, and it really begs the question. What if indomitable never ran aground and accompanied and provided air cover for the task force? Would she have met the same fate as the pow and repulse or could her fighters have fended off the attack? It’s actually interesting to think about abs it’s one of the “what if” moments of history!
The hood actually had armor. She was almost identical to the colorados armor depth. Not sure about the renown class armor scheme. Even though it was after Jutland I don’t believe it was as good as the Admiral class CC.
Not quite as good as the Admiral class, no. Hood started out with 200mm main belt or so, and was uparmoured to just over 300. Repulse started out with around 150, and got patched up to 229 with some surplus BB plating. That's just the main belt though, overall scheme I haven't looked at in detail.
The unique camo makes it looks like it belongs on an merry-go-round. It’s pretty accurate and hits pretty hard. I played it as a mid range ship. Hit and as use that speed to run. The biggest thing is to have map awareness with this ship.
The Repulse was really popular on the Christmas season, way to many of them, even tho I didn’t bough one I hope that I can get her one day trough an event or something. Btw what do you think about the new port ( designer table ) 13:29 oh no you should never have said that, WG is going to have some funny ideas xD
Ah, that was a port... I was wondering what that image was. Not a bad one, actually - better than ships floating in space. Ah, yeah, I can see a MLP collab... well, we've had WH40k, anime girls, the annual Halloween monster parade, how much worse can it get.
Yea I’ve been thinking about this me being a BB main, I’m thinking I might not get it because there are plenty of battle cruisers in tier 6, my favorite being the Izmail. She looks like a pocket hood with less guns and more secondeies
Does anyone think weather effects should have a bigger impact on a match? For example the map could be misty or foggy which reduces ship visibility. I think this would make the game more fun to play and realistic.
The guns are not quite as punchy as Warspite's, at least that's my gut feeling. The AP is somewhere between her and QE. But definitely not to be underestimated. If RNG says yes, you'll get all shells on target even at range.
Jesus Criminey, I was listening to you rhyme off what this ship is not good at and I remember thinking that the only thing it is good at in game (like reality) is getting itself sunk lol
I appreciate a lot your videos but this time a do not agree with you. Repulse is a very strong ship unrivaled in tier 6. You are right: speed and maneuverability are that of an heavy cruiser but she hits very powerful with primary guns. Citadel is very frequent and, too me, she is quite resistant, not bad at all. For sure is very fun to play comparing with other T6 BBs such as New Mexico or Bayern.
She was in one of the recent Blitz passes, I think? You'll have to wait until she comes either on sale, or shows up in the shipyard, or an event, maybe. Premium ships do occasionally come back around.
A yes, a classic ship in Battle of Warships. In that game, Repulse has torpedoes and was garbage. Battle of Warships may have been made by the same people of Modern Warships.
This Blitz pass is not worth buying. The cost is the same but you get less gold, no additional captain, ugly camo and no advance crates after you complete the blitz. It's a money grab on the reputation of the Repulse.
Kongo is not in her battlecruiser configuration, but in her later, up-armoured one. She's got better armour at tier 5 than Repulse at tier 6. From the model, Repulse _should_ have been there as well, but they decided to leave her original armour (or lack thereof) from the stats we can see, at least. Kongo can take a couple of hits, Repulse cannot. She's a super-heavy cruiser, playstyle-wise, and plays differently from Kongo imo.
Not gona get it lol already got best t6 ships 😉☺️ The division in first match wow so lowskilled in toptier premiums loool l2p I dont support any ‚flanking‘ moves, people dont know how when or what they are doing, it just supports the knobs to ignore caps.. Seems like a poor version of hood, both poop 💩 lol
Hi Terry, will you be doing a Fenyang review?. So few reputable CZcamsrs have bothered and it would be great to see your perspective on a divisive ship that everyone seems to compare to an aka but claim she's worse...thoughts?.

well, her sister ship was scrapped
@@aivinni9838 yep, at Faslane after the war, like many other British ships were.
I’m averaging about 55k damage and a 78% win ratio in this ship, I just wish more people knew how to properly use it 😅
Repulse actually got me to play this game again, she's so fun to play
It's a bit sad seeing so many players with Repulse out there, playing her like a BB (and getting killed 2m in)
@@FunandGameswithTerry eh, more damage to farm. And also, the noobs may make people underestimate Repulse, just like people underestimate Hood

Good point. Blitz pass might be something a lot of people take, since it's not just the ship, but also resources.

I enjoyed Repulse. Hoping after some time the hype will die down. Having 3 Repulses on each team is enough
Give it a week or so, and the players who haven't figured out how to play her by then will have given up.
I like it when I see a Repulse on the enemy team, especially if there are 2 or 3 of them in a game.
I would recommend going RRB on Repulse aka go for Rapid Reload Build on Repulse😏
You could, but that turret traverse is really going to hurt with the amount of manoeuvring...
Trust me Terry. I know my RRB aka Rapid Reload Builds well and how to use them effectively.
Good Information like always…thank you
