I think the issue is simple. A baptist must ask themselves when your church came into existence. For example, were the apostles in Acts 15 solae scriptura? Or were they teaching regarding circumcision in opposition to the scripture?

My authority is definitely the original Hebrew and Greek of the scriptures. I was a Baptist Pastor and missionary and I am gay, medically proven during electronic shock therapy, as part of 13 years of reparative therapy. It was highly abusive. That Dr who organized it was President of the Baptist Union at the time. Then I learned the entire medical profession declassified homosexuality as an illness 51 years ago. I was NOT happy.
eg Gen 19 refers to the "men" of Sodom. The Hebrew is enowsh and that same word has been translated as "people" in many many places. eg Ex 10:7 "Let the people go" Same word. It is perfectly acceptable to translate "All the people of Sodom...where are the people?" There are many many other similar verses. I believe what the church claims the scriptures say against homosexuality is political, NOT theological. I have been told I am not welcome to even attend a Baptist church because I am gay. I was married to my accepting wife for 51 years and cared for her with MS for 26 years before she passed. God creates some people gay, as I have been, and it is absolutely fine. I strongly accept gay marriage as 77.5% of Australians have done as in the Marriage Equality survey in 2017.
