this looks like it will be a nice piece of kit. i can see using this as a small benchtop power supply for stuff like binding receivers, betaflight work, etc. and also as a field charger.

Is it mandatory to balance or can you charge without the balance lead hooked up?

OT: can you add backup battery like "4 AA" in case your main battery die while flying?
Back in day when I was flying gas airplane we use battery-box 4 AA (old school) so when engine dies, I can still land without crashing it.

Hi! Can it charge LiPo without balance port? Like 18650 or 18V Makita's battary?

Battery profiles are LiPO, LiHV, LiFE, Li-ION, LTO, NiMH, PB(lead acid), and UAVbat (DJI).

No, LiPo profiles always require a balance connection.

I have one and the AC input is broken. I can not get a power up from the AC input. Any solution?

That sounds like a hardware fault. I would start with basics like trying a different power cable. Maybe open it up and look for any obvious damage. Otherwise you may need to contact ToolkitRC.

Mine arrived today. I have the same issue. It didn't power on from AC. But if i plug a battery into the charging port it powers on. If I then plug the AC cable in it reads 18.2 Volts as input, but after i start the charging process, about 5 seconds later the input voltage drops and stops charging with the error message: "Main port disconnected"

@ I make a tech support request and they send me internal psu replacement unit. I soldered the new one it's now working fine. It's internal PSU problem

@@pusico6555 Thanks for the info. I emailed ToolkitRc and the store i bought it form. Hopefully I get an exchange. I don't want to solder my brand new charger.

Toolkitrc is the worst company ever. Their products are an absolute joke and they deserve 0 air time. Had 3 chargers that failed miserable in less than 4 months, opened a ticket back in July last year and first that I heard back from them was January this year and only one email asking about how long I had the charger for and never received any updates. They have some very nice innovative features but their quality control is non-existent. Great review of the product mate but I would steer away from toolkitrc.

i've had an M6D as my go-to charger for over a year now and have had exactly zero problems. i would venture to say that you somehow got into a bad batch of chargers...which happens...in all fairness, i don't have any experience with their customer service so i can't speak to that but i hope that you get some sort of resolution from them.

@@RPGWoodworking how often do you use your charger? Mines are used on a daily basis and I've had 2 m6d and one m4q just died on me. I have a 5 years old isdt m6 pro using daily and have had 0 issues. Just bought a new icharger x8d now and that is a much better kit and their customer service team is fantastic. They responded to all my enquiries even before I purchase their product. Maybe like you said, I was unfortunate to get a bad batch. Can you say the same from the video of CycloneFPV where he had 10 brand new chargers all stuffed up?

@@ClareFPV wow, that's really strange. i use mine almost daily as well and no issues. using it right now, as a matter of fact. i dunno...i guess everyone has different experiences.
