Beautiful video. Anyone who wants more on Hutsuls can watch Parajanov's beautiful 1965 film "Shadows of Our Forgotten Ancestors". It is an old story and Parajanov spent 5 years in a Siberian gulag for making it. It was made at a time when the Soviet Union was striving for everyone to be the same.
The word for what the USSR was trying is Cultural Genocide.

It is called a "hurry gurdy" or the Hutsul word for it. It is a very old instrument medieval actually. Has a gorgeous sound.
