Hello, I am Jane from Falmouth in Cornwall, UK. I am an avid knitter and owner of Stitches and Cream, a yarn shop specialising in natural fibres and British yarns.

I am a bit older than you but can completely empathise with how you feel - when sometimes you cannot really explain what is wrong, and there is much to be thankful for, but you just feel that little bit down. Hi Jane: very good to listen to your podcast today. I moved from the farm my late husband and I lived at, to the City where my family resides. My move was at the end of August last year. During the Fall and Winter, I made a point of finishing knitting projects that have been idle for a while. It was a good feeling to have 4 projects finished: 2 long wraps, and 2 sweaters.
I so agree. I am enjoying getting them done too. Thank you for listening ☺️

A belated Happy Birthday Jane, I hope you enjoyed your day. I loved your Odella scarf, the colour is beautiful. I had eight WIPs at the beginning of August and decided that I really must finish some before starting anything else. I’ve finished two so far and just sewing up a third. Of course I’ve started with the smallest things but I have one big project that I first started eight or nine years ago that I just feels like a mountain to climb. It’s a long colourwork cardigan for my daughter. It has up to four different colours on any given row, eight colours in total and the amount of ends I will need to sew in will take me forever. I’ve tried knitting along side other projects but then I get distracted again 😂 I’m determined to finish it before Christmas, wish me luck!

Jane, I love your socks! I came across a method to keep your yarn separated while traveling. Put each ball in a separate plastic zip bag with enough open to let a strand come through. Get a 4 hole button and put each thread through one of the holes. It is amazing that it works but it does. God bless you Jane❤

Great to see your WIP progress. Loving the latest Ranunculus. I wondered about Ranunculus vs Love Notes and you gave your verdict at that very point! You always have so much on the go with the shop and all the exciting projects, keeps you busy but make sure you carve out some you time, even if it's knitting in the garden or on the beach. Can recommend Michael Mosely's 5:2 way of eating. 2 days a week is very manageable and the recipes are flavoursome.

It’s also hard to keep weight off as we get older as well so don’t be too hard on yourself, enjoy life’s pleasures in moderation. ❤🇦🇺

I have just found you. We spent two long happy holidays on Lizard Island. We went to Falmouthquite a lot but at the time(before brexit)there was no wool shop. Otherwise I should most certainly have come to your shop.

Cardigans eh? I have to agree with their popularity. I've made two for myself this year and have just started the Pressed Flowers Cardigan by Amy Christoffers. ❤the idea of a community knit. Knitters come from all around the world sit in your shop and knit on a project for a few minutes that another knitter just knit on. I think you should keep it going and keep it in the shop. What a fantastic way for us all to connect.

They're great for keeping your yarn tidy & they look nice too & perfect for travel. Mine is good but the lid fastening wasn't designed well. I have seen better ones from a website in US. Need a UK maker to produce one . Id definitely buy another one if you stocked them 😁

Hello dear Jane and a very Happy Birthday for yesterday when my youngest granddaughter turned 1 ! I’m very happy to see that you’re completing some of your wips- I tend to get a tad overwhelmed if I have too much on the go 😮 your Advent boxes sound truly delightful- what time would you hold the Zoom meetings ( as I’d probably have to be up in the middle of the night to be able to attend 🤪)? Happy Birthday belated Jane! I've almost completed my first Ranunculus and have a Love Note on my mind. I'm curious why you feel one is better than the other. From the outside looking in, they both seem interchangeable. Thanks!
Thank you. For me the Lovenote has too many wide ‘holes’ in the lace section and I always need to wear something under it whereas the Ranunculus lace section is quite small and I just prefer the shape really 🤔

Another great episode Jane! I love your projects☺️I have to ask, I just don't get the Ranunculus thing! What is it about it? I just don't get it Are there any viral patterns others don't understand the hype over?!
Haha. I know what you mean as it’s like the half and half wrap thing I just didn’t get that either. For me the beauty of the ranunculus (and the pattern photos don’t do it justice BTW) are:
It is a super quick knit
It can be made in anything from lace to aran and the fabric looks different
It is a great use of yarn when you only have a smallish amount (800mtrs)
I like its versatility
I really like the yoke design too.
@@thecornishknitterha ha you are on another ranunculus and I'm working on another half and half!! I must admit, I made it rather large and I'm losing the will to live over it! I have seen some really beautiful jumpers in different yarns I just can't bring myself to do it! Happy knitting and I hope you've had a lovely birthday weekend ☺️
I went back to rewatch the name of the yarn for Nicky’s hat- & Make. I was thinking of getting some ahead of the pattern launch. I think you said October? For children would you recommend ordering 2 of the color choice?

Hi Janet. I know the Love Note has many fans but first me I think what puts me off it a little is the openness of the lace yoke. I feel that i can wear a Ranunculus without something underneath if I want to as the yoke pattern is ‘tighter lace’ and therefore not too much skin on show. Just a personal preference reallly. Hope this helps explain my thinking 😊

Try carnivore diet, it's great for improved mood and energy, helps to banish cravings.
Thanks for the tip! I am not really a big meat eater having had to come of a vegetarian diet due to low vitamin B12 due to Crohns Disease but I do eat chicken and fish x
