Disability Act states public school can not turn away any student with special needs. The school has to accommodate the student.

They can’t do that by law without parents permission. It’s like work, you have to do whatever the customer says, no questions asked.

I feel so bad for these parents, can you imagine what it's like for people in a School District where you are not as wealthy as some in the school district there. Those little ones get shipped all over . I hope they just help these Beautiful children where all other children are . Most special needs kids are alright to be in a school with other kids, yes there are some that may need a lot of help. But all of our children need to know how to relate to each other ,one to another

My son has autism and would be devastated if his school did this to him. All the "shuffling around" would be very hard. It takes these kids twice as long to get close to others let alone feel like they fit in and trust is whole other story. The thing is educators know this. They are sometimes even more aware of this than the parents of a kid with challenges. I hope this is the last time these kids are put through this. I would say to parents imoacted by this - please remember this decision was probably difficult for them too and try to support your school system because they need you and they do care for your precious young ones but be sure to demand that they don't make a move unless they are going to do things right the first time. More of this down the road and they're asking too much of these kids. They need to be able to depend on their school.

Really? As a former special ed student growing up I ALWAYS had to hop on the short yellow bus to take me miles to some other school that none of my siblings or ward members kids went too and it wasn't the end of the world. It just means that I got to make MORE friends by going to a different school. Made sense back then as it still does today that there isn't that many special ed kids for a need to have a special ed class at EVERY school.
First world problems for these Alpine parents I guess.

If they were to go to another separate school, the district has to pay for it which they don't want to do. There's also the fact that the need for special ed has increased exponentially.
