    Great video. I love how everything has its own bag. I'm only 22 and I learn so much from you, you'd be surprised how many girls and women out there that don't have a mom or person to show them how to take care of themselves like you do. You inspire me so much to be a better person.

    Jen, I pack just like you. I love to have my own things. I like them to be organized according to ,like makeup items, bathing items etc. I buy all travel sizes that I can or use decanters for the other. I will confess you helped me on all this organization . Thank you so much. You are the best. And I just love you. Thanks for everything.

    I recently had my purse stolen (two weeks ago), and as part of putting together the list of items for my homeowner's insurance adjuster I came across your blog today listing my now stolen clear cosmetic clutch that The Container Store no longer carries. Funny because I've been subscribed to your channel for years after coming across it doing a search for The Pottery Barn's vanity towers. Anyway, good thing you list everything because it's helping me right now. Good stuff.

    I use several separate bags to ensure I take what I need & to stay organized. I go through my "routine" & pack a bag for everything I need in the shower, another for post-shower moisturizers face/body, 1 for anything to do with my hair, another for make-up & 1-2 for special needs pool/beach/outside - depending on destination. I require lots of toiletries to get ready for 1 day or 15 days. The toiletries stay basically the same, however, the clothing, shoes & accessories increase significantly.

    Hi Jen! I'm with you on "having to be comfortable when travelling". My hubby and I are blessed to travel frequently, and I am starting to get more and more organized as it relates to toiletries. I'm much more comfortable knowing I can take some of the comforts of home with me. Great video!

  • @nothingreally1234
    @nothingreally1234 Před 11 lety

    Jen, I completely respect the fact that you can pack what makes you comfortable. You are free to pack what you want, but this is a really eye opening video. I thought I was high maintenance. Again, you do you, girl.

  • @yarbs83

    I love that Kate Spade bag. I'm able to fit all my toiletries and makeup in it for most any trip. I also like that I can just throw everything in there after I'm done getting ready and don't have to worry about forgetting anything in the hotel room because it's such a nice, open design.

  • @craftytravelfrog
    @craftytravelfrog Před 11 lety

    Thanks for the video. I do the same thing -- the "bathroom" bag, the cosmetic bag, and a beside bag. Manage to accumulate bags from "free with purchase" occasions. Thanks to your suggestions, am loving the Shiseido squares and will look for a small container to keep them safe when traveling.

    I take a separate medical kit, especially when traveling out of the country. Plus a general toiletries kit and a separate makeup kit. Jewelry also goes separately, if I pack any at all. Having separate kits gives me peace of mind as well.

    Keep in mind one thing about negative comments. I realized that in watching our favorite youtubers like Jen,we begin to feel like they are our friends, just like our real friends we know and love. And we might have a tendency to blurt something out that we would tell our friends, like girl! What are u doing, r u crazy, etc. however this familiarity doesnt necessarily translate in a comment from a stranger. We feel familiar with Jen but not necessarily vice versa.

    Not obsessive at all! If I'm going for a spa weekend, I'd need different "travel kits" than if I was going away for a ski trip. A longer trip means more needs. You are prepared for everything and have explained that not everything goes on every trip.
    For my emergency kit, in addition to the shout wipes and bandaids, I really like having a small sewing kit just in case.... Great video!

  • @IamSnowbird

    I also always travel with my "nighttime" bag with all the things I need at night. I also have a medicine bag for my daily medicines and a just in case bag with things I might need like hydro cortisone or a glasses repair kit. Vera Bradley cases are the best. I use the ditty bag for my toiletries.

    Different cases for different things is a good idea. I tend to stuff everything into a medium sized see-thru case, and if it doesn't fit, put it in a ziploc in my suitcase. But if I'd get a little larger case with divided areas, and get rid of multiple shampoo, cond, body stuff, I might be able to fit everything in one organized case.

    Really great videos! I have cut down on stuff while travelling. I was in Asia for 3 wks and packed only a carry-on. Did not bring much 'beauty stuff'. Everything was in a small plastic bag that was approved to bring on board. I managed with it. In hotels they always gave us toothpaste, soap, shampoo etc. For clothes I did wash once in a while. Since I did this trip I will pack like that for future trip. Believe it or not it was nice to travel light. And for jewelry just one pair of earrings :)

    I teeter between packing all the items I need for comfort and going minimal. I also sometimes just use ziplock bags instead of my nice bags, this saves a lot of weight and they can be tucked easier into empty spaces in the suit case. You'd be surprised how much weight the bags add. That said I am inspired by jen to go back to my regular bags for packing. LOL

    I like to keep the counter free when I am not in the hotel room too. Like fiddlegirl71, I use tri-fold hanging bag for toiletries and jewelry. It has clear vinyl sections to view what it is inside. For makeup, a medium size case for makeup. A small case for sun products to slip in a beach bag. I also refresh my walking pharmacy. By putting key rings on the zipper of my cases, I can slip them over the hanger of the bag. Everything is off the counter and on the hotel bathroom hook.

    This was great! I usually bring a few separate kits: make-up in a cosmetic bag, jewelry in a roll up, and everything else in a Vera Bradley ditty bag. I love the ditty bag, but now I am thinking it might be easier for longer trips to have a sturdier case where things don't get jumbled around so much. I love the idea of having a separate pool bag. I usually buy a really cheap mini loofa for each trip and throw it away before coming home so that I don't have to bring home a wet loofa.
