I'm 48 hours out now and have barely any pain at all.. Don't be afraid! Tell the Dr. if you're feeling anything but buzzing/pressure.

From my presonal experience let me tell ya no it doesn't get worst if you take your pills you gonna be fine (gotta be on time) but it feela more like you have something stuck in your tooth uncomfortable but no pain at all but it depende on what conditions you get there (sorry english is my third language but hope i could help if enyone need it )
