Little Women at Seacoast Rep

Join the Seacoast Rep for its first ever production of Little Women. Based on Louisa May Alcott’s life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested - her friend Professor Bhaer tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.
Told on the intimate Seacoast Rep Main Stage, Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit.The powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope - the sounds of a young America finding its voice. Little Women is directed by Danielle Howard and her creative team, who also brought forth the critically-acclaimed Titanic and South Pacific.
Little Women takes stage on Seacoast Rep’s intimate 3/4 thrust sunken stage in its historic theatre on Bow Street, every seat is a good seat, even for the little ones. Seacoast Rep boasts a full bar and concessions stand and is within walking distance to ample parking and many great restaurants, making Little Women the highlight of a great Portsmouth afternoon or evening.
