Just a suggestion. Since you are planning on running a pretty heavy stocking rate you may wang to add a single strand electric fence on the inside of your wire fence. This will keep the cows from leaning on or pushing on the fence and help extend the life of the fence. And actually once the cattle get used to the electric fence it doesn’t have to be on constantly just occasionally to do the job. No

You are going to have to invest in some Bluetooth binders to secure that load 😂😂👍👍

I had a magnetic trailer one time, and I was hauling a D6R a few miles. It decided to de-magnetize one dark and drizzly morning. Moral of the story after replacing the trunion on the under carriage I stopped using that trailer. It worked until it didn’t! 😂

A single hot wire would definitely save you a lot of time and headaches and fence repair and crop damage.

Ethan it looks like that cow working area is going to get muddy I suggest you contact Dane Feldhaus from ranching sodas he can make you some rubber mats to make your life so much easier in mud season.

Put a couple 2x6 around the working pens one at the top and one middle ways, the visual board really seems to help them from wanting to run through it as much. That is as long as you don't have a jumper

Camera may be deceiving me, but it looks like you might need a few more wooden post driven in😂😂 may be the reason for floppy wires??👍👍. Now you’re talking GAURDRAIL OR THE CONTINUOUS PANELS in crowding area. 1200 $$$ on the combine cleaning😂😂😂 I live couple hours away. Thanks young man for another video.

That video title could be a slogan. My farmer friend has converted to all poly Bale rings and thinks they last longer. On fences everyone has an opinion. My theory is corners and h braces matter more than the post's. If you have enough and strong enough you can get some grace with the posts and keep the wire tight. If I need a 4 foot fence i build a 5. If 5 strand is supposed to be okay i put 6. So far they don't let me down. But it will happen.

I think you should get the brakes working on the trailer.you have been lucky so far but DOT can pop up when you do not want them and they can and will follow onto a county road to inspect both truck and trailer then you get the big bill for a tow truck the truck and trailer to a shop for repairs.just a FYI from an old truck driver.

Your fence is slack by you didn’t stretch it tight enough nor do you have enough post in it. You for sure need to put more post in catch lot. . Don’t cut corners on your fence. Protect those around you when working cows..

Good job on the hoe loading. Lol. Had the fun of loading a mini x on an aluminum flatbed with no dock or ramps once, just some crane mats stacked up to make it slightly less sketchy. Also, the tire bill is one of the reasons trucking costs as much as it does. 1200 is wallet rape but totally normal in todays world, and guys try to haul freight for 1.50 a mile...

  • @microsoilenhancersinspirey5750

You can put 100 ewes on that 15 acres that will average 1.8 to 2.4 babies twice a year.
That’s roughly 300-350 babies at 125-300 per depending on your time of year selling them.
That’s between 30 and 90 thousand dollars return on that 15 acres..
Ain’t no cows ever gonna make that.
    Just a suggestion..
    Shalom!.

    • @peteparker7396
      @peteparker7396 Před 6 měsíci +1

You forgot to add the labor hours to keep those said range maggots alive. Not to mention the loss rate of lambing and neighbors dogs sportily chasing said babies and eating them or coyotes. So in reality cattle are always better. Plus they taste better!

    • @microsoilenhancersinspirey5750

      @@peteparker7396 well..
It would seem you’ve never heard of rotational grazing and parasite free sheep.
I started with 10 last year and will have 40 by the end of lambing this year!
No grain and rotational grazing with only one baby still born out of 3 she birthed in almost 2 years.
We have 7 sets of twins and one set of triplets out of 14 ewes. The rest had singles.
You can dislike sheep all you want!
But this man loves money and I was telling him a way to make a lot on not a lot of acres.
      And besides..
He could get a couple guard dogs and a donkey to put in with sheep and predators won’t be an issue.
Farmers can make things work when they want them to happen!
I was just making a suggestion.
      Shalom!.

@@microsoilenhancersinspirey5750 between my brother and I we run 600 momma cows and annually, depending on markets around 5000 yearlings on wheat. 15 acres isn’t enough to do much. You still miss the mark on labor costs. Your time isn’t free no matter what you do and always has to be factored into everything. And range maggots are not a leave em and forget em. Plus it’s hit or miss on markets for them. It costs to send them to the nearest market, and last time I checked there aren’t many sheep in Indiana. But there are cattle and cattle markets. Then you have to shear the damn things or they will cook in the summer. Unless you’re a tiny hobby operation with nothing else going on or a large operator where you can devote your time to it? You are just having them to lose or a tax write off. When I was a kid my Dad and uncle had thousands of sheep. It’s about killed him and my uncle. Plus they had two guys full time taking care of them. We traded 5000 ewes for 100 black angus cows. And have never looked back.

@@peteparker7396 hair sheep need no shearing.
I’m glad you are enjoying your cattle.
My sheep make more money per acre than anything I’ve got..
Closest thing to it would be produce on the amount of acres they cover.
We have sheep cows horses chickens and row crop.
      Sheep surpass them all here!
I apologize your daddy and uncle didn’t have good luck!
Maybe you’ll try something different and get better results.
      Shalom!.
