Mannn I wish I was at your school😭 I’m at the other side of the state in Jenison but that whole assembly match idea is so cool

My team goated fr
Congrats on the title and your program. So glad you "worked" with Sunlesskhan to share it. Great timing Sunless with the major going on. I actually stopped that stream to watch this video first.
At least finish watching the video before commenting
Bro the high schoolers were so powerful they made Epic Games tweet something that isn't marketing
lol
Gods
So true! XD
lmao

"MARCUS HAS ICE IN HIS VEINS!" 😂😂😂
MARCUUUUUUUSSSS
I literally read this comment as it was playing in the video lmao
Most panicked I’ve ever been when taking a shot 😂😂
Read this in this is rocket league voice
@@_sewshi marcus is you? if yea then you have a sick school! wish you the best.
releasing this while the major is going is a goated move by sunless
Y? Doesn't it mean less people will watch it

Being able to be a part of my school eSports Rocket League team was fun. It actually challenged me to get better. :)
bro i hope my school would make one but they old asf and they prolly dont even know what esports means😭
I am so jealous man
Same here being on the team pushed me to actually try
Now take that into life and always strive to be better in all things that you do and are. And don't be arrogant and you will have a fruitful life.
every time sunless posts a mini documentary video my heart explodes with joy
Nah fr lol
Where was Sunless? I only heard Kermit!!
Same
I’m noticing a pattern here, all the things I was bullied for back in school are slowly becoming some of the biggest things ever. That’s insane to me.
dude same i been watching anime and korean , japanese shows for over 15 years & recently its talk of the town everyone wants in on it .
@@immythlive9710aint noone talm bout that nerd ass bs💀
@@immythlive9710 same bro anime was geeky asf, games were nerdy as shit and reading was for dorks
somehow all of these things are now cool
@@AbdiEditor people are usually quick to judge what they don't understand. However, you like those things for a reason (they're all goated asf) so when they eventually end up trying them they realize just how good they actually are. Kinda weird how people work
The fact that Rocket League themselves retweeted it just shows how great of a move this was. The passion, the joy. This is Rocket League!
Proud to be a part of the team 🙏
❤
What rank are you right now in 1v1?
Catholic Central is wild. I didn't compete in ESports, but I was a student on a FIRST Robotics team neaby, and I now mentor for the same team. Their robotics team ranked 35th out of 511 competing teams in Michigan this year and 13th last year. Huge respect for those guys.
😂first mentioned!!!! Rah!!!
I played Quizbowl in high school and remember getting destroyed by DCC at nationals one year, they're just different I guess
5907 do indeed go crazy
@@mattmythlegend9099what school did you play for, I play and they are still like top 20 in the country
@@oldaccount1254 I don't really want to share that in a youtube comment section, but I'll tell you it was in North Carolina and that I graduated in 2021. Should narrow it down a bit
i just spent my entire last semester of college putting together a Rocket League live comp with my classmates, Jo, Tim, and Justin for our senior capstone class, and getting the teams was the hardest part of it, and making en entire esports arena for TV in 1 weekend was the other hardest part, so I completely understand where steven was coming from with struggling to find another school, and the rush to put everything together, great job Steven
Ka-Chow was one of our high school prospects last year. He since has been signed on to our team, then proceeded to win states and then nationals. I'm super excited to be playing with him next year in college
yo just curious do u happen to know like the average rank for hs rocket league? im gc 1 going into 10th and wondering if im not good enough
@exinityyy you're always good enough, brother. just keep pushing to be better. Gc1 depending on the region is usually average. The teams that do well at states are usually two gc3/ssl players and a champ3/gc1
I went to DCC and I’m not surprised they blew up doing this. Stephen is a good guy and I was just a couple years too old to have esports in HS. Way to highlight and tell the story well, our old high school deserves it. Place is awesome
Crazy how DCC made a better rocket league torunament than psyonix can nowadays
frfr
Epic games***
Psyonix has nothing to do with this. Epic games ruined trading and other great aspects of rocket league trying to turn it into a cash cow
@@RealNaisuCinemaplayed since 2016 and epic bought in 2020 so right at half of my time was before/after. i have 10 more server problems now than i did before epic. they just glaze over issues generally and it sucks. no new modes, no new hitboxes, people are still hacking in ranked games its gotten so bad
i wish my high school had this level of resources/dedication to rocket league, i played soccer and loved it there but it would’ve been amazing to compete here as well
so true. kids playing video games used to be seen as a negative thing but now it is a little more understood and supported
those damn baby boomers are coming around after all
As one of the Online Services devs tasked with integrating PlayVS in to Rocket League, this warms my heart to see Detroit Catholic taking the literal ball and run with it! Awesome doc!
its been 2 minutes why do people already love the video
I enjoy looking for people that comment really fast, then like their own comment.
@@Chief000 definetely NOT me
Because I know them, they are awesome people
high expectations man
It's a banger wdym
Im so glad esports are starting to make their way into the mainstream. Thanks to people like Steve the next generation will be able to experience the joy that comes with playing games competitions next to your buds can bring you, and rhanks to sunless stories like these can spread and this mentality can go viral. Thanks to you both for helping us and the next generation experience the joy of rocket league!
its a good thing and also my friend was on one of the teams he mentioned
During the fall of 2018, I was a Junior in high school and I founded the eSports team at my school. I delegated team captains for various teams and took the role of team captain on the Rocket League team. We competed in the High School eSports League (HSEL) and it led to some of my best memories of my life. We ended up winning nationally in 2019 and the feeling is indescribable. I still have some of the matches we played up on my channel and I like to revisit them.
It's so awesome to see high school RL still going strong and young students are still competing. Thank you Stephen and Sunless!
Major props to the athletics director stepping out and saying "yes, Esports is a thing, let's put it under athletics." I've known a few local teams that have petered out after a year or two because the team doesn't live anywhere in the official school ecosystem; that's a big step.
Great video!
I play in the Michigan RL Program (top 10 in the state), and yeah the program is awesome. Just the feeling of playing Rocket League for your school is incredible, going into every game knowing you could play at a lan if you preform well is surreal.
Just curious, what is the level of play? I’m hoping to be in the program next year and wondering what standards I should be meeting (what rank I should be at, etc.) Also, are there only fall and spring seasons? I have to figure out how to fit that into my schedule as well 😂
im guessing high champ and above@@valued_
@@valued_This can change year to year, but last year 2v2 was in the fall and 3v3 was in the winter/spring (Feb-May). I played 3s and we had a C2, Myself as a C1, and a D1 and were 7th in the state. The top teams (like the Catholic school) will probably have 3 GCs. But we played teams anywhere from GCs to golds and plats, so any rank can play, but obviously some at a higher level than others.
Michigan like university of Michigan?
Smashing vid lad, really hope we can see more of this going forward.
Honestly great video, for some reason it made me emotional 😭 just so happy for those kids and the step towards esports becoming more mainstream
This being a thing is so cool, Esports and crowds really brings the energy! Shoutout to Stephen for organizing something that shows off the joy and to you Sunless for showcasing it
This video is crazy surreal, Nice Job Stephen!
I’m a senior now and at a different school that doesn’t have any esports programs and In my sophomore year, I was a part of liberty high school Arizona varsity esports team. We made a top 4 state as well for rl kind of sucks because only the top two really got to play the lan environment and it’s always been my dream to on lan.thank you sunless for this video
That was such a good watch! Shout out to Stephen for putting this all together and changing the future of so many students.
Esports is becoming more and more like ACTUAL sports and i am here for it🤩
11:34 "You know they ain't good at anything else." 😂
This video has brought me excitement and joy - thanks @sunless!!
This made me so happy. I remember being heavily made fun of in school for being a gamer. Our community hasn't always been accepted by the mainstream. I'm glad I was able to crawl so that kids now can run ❤
not a RL player but i am team captain of an ow2 team that was one game away from getting to nationals.
i was a fairly reserved kid throughout my freshman year, but the one thing i could connect to people with was through gaming. Then comes an announcement that an esports club was forming and competing in the very beginning of my sophomore year. I went to the meet and i saw a few people i previously was friends with before kinda just falling out because of my own reservedness. A season goes by, and i find myself talking more and more, not only just in this club but in school and outside of school too. seasons go by of my team making it to playoffs but getting wiped first game until this previous one. i really wanted to make a memory, so i finally leaned into my role as the team captain. coaching my friends, playing comp with them outside of school, and meeting up in person quite often. i didnt think that the me 2-3 years ago could do this. and we just kept winning, and i had the most fun i'd had in years. each loss didn't hurt, it didn't sting, it just made me realize that *we* needed to do better. like i said earlier, we were one game away from state. but im fine with losing because i had fun. so much fun. I think a very understated fact is that after the pandemic, people lost social skills, me included. alot of people retreated into their shells that they just managed to crawl out of. But new opportunities like this are an amazing way to get people to learn to socialize again, building up from zero. corny as it sounds, im going into my senior year a totally new person because of it, and i'm experiencing that classic 'best time of your life' that people boast about. i'm jealous that i didnt get to experience it sooner, but glad that people will be able to enjoy it for generations to come.
The fact this school is so close to me and MANY of my friends go here… it’s crazy to see how big this story has gotten and even having a sunless khan video on it… actually crazy. Amazing video Sunless!
Love this style of video. Would absolutely love to hear more of these type of stories, Rocket League or not. Thanks for sharing, Sunless.
This brought back some good memories. Me and some friends made an RL team for our high school over covid and ended up going to nationals. So awesome to see the esport growing.
I really respect the dedication and contribution he puts into making esports an actual sport and gaining recognition for it. It really does mean so much to be realized and appreciated for something you are good at that not many others understand. Just to even be noticed just as we did at our school after we won state means a lot so I really am glad that he is going to this level to raise the bar for highschool because everyone deserves such an amazing and unforgettable opportunity such as this and I really hope it can continue to grow and spread to all highschools across the country
Amazing man, this story brings tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing this.
Man watching this filled me with so much joy. I hope esports and Rocket League in particular continue to grow in high schools around the country ❤️
One of the best videos sunless has produced, quality has always been great but the way all the events occurred are just amazing!
Sunless, you have the best documentaries. I typically hate documentaries, but your cinematic style you use and the sunless sarcasm comes through every once in a while, and it's awesome. You can also tell that you're just a good dude. When you talked about how gaming is about having FUN, it really makes you stop and realize that games like Rocket League are made to be fun, and if I'm getting tilted I should just get off for the day 😂
I love this video and story. Thank you for sharing!
That's insane, great video! Love your storytelling style
Wow, this video put a smile on my face. And it made me hopeful for the future of this game!
I think that was your best video ever. This was like a professional documentary and the storytelling was just spot on. Awesome work!
Excellent as always Sunless! Thanks for sharing
I've watched at least a couple thousand RL videos. In those, only maybe like 10 have given me goosebumps or impacted me significantly, and every single time it's been a Sunless video.
Thanks for all of the silly content on toxicity, while simultaneously telling the hardest hitting and most important stories for the game & its community.
Truly legendary!
I absolutely love this guys passion and energy, that took a lot of hardwork and determination for something he didn't have to do. This coach is why the game will grow.
still pumping out really good content keep it up sunless
high quality video with so much time put into it very nice one
and great moral of the video too👍
That's awesome thanks for sharing sunless
BRO THIS IS DOPE!! A couple months ago I learned MHSA, the governing body for most intramural programs and sports in Montana, is starting esports as an unofficial pilot program, so I’ve been championing the idea to my school since. This is great info to go off of, and a great story. Thanks Sunless!
This had me tearing up. Thank you Sunless, we needed this one.
thank you for sharing this story!
Sunless with another goated vid 🔥💯📈
I know you can't pump out such high quality content every day but it sucks how long I have to wait for a new sunless video! Another class video again!
This is like something out of a dream, I graduate highschool this week and I wish my school had opportunities like this
Sunless Khan makes such good videos! So well edited and he deserves so many more views in my opinion. You can see how much effort he puts in and how skilled he is at putting everything together into a perfect vibe.
Goated videos only Sunless, another excellent watch
This story warms my heart. Great vide sunless!
that was an amazing video! KEEP GROWING E-SPORTS!
Idk what to say other than this is an incredible video, hopefully high school RL esports gains traction, Sunless you have outdone yourself once again!
I wish we could’ve had this at our school. Me and some friends tried and we had the team and someone willing to coach but our athletic director just kept shutting it down. It’s good to see that these kids had this great opportunity.
great job on the narration and editing dude! Very entertaining video
This got me a bit emotional to see how supportive the school was of their ESports team!! Love to see it
That's great to see, thanks for sharing Stephen's story.
thanks for sharing this with us
i love the vid so far, the editing you've done so far is phenomenal, i cant watch more rn but so happy u uploaded, its always a good day when you do :)
godly vid this was a masterpiece and made me feel rlly good abt playing games with a good mental, they are fun
thank you sunless, this video made me cry
This is such a fantastic story. Love the editing, the music, and the storytelling... you're still absolutely delivering man.
Love you sunless!! Keep up the vids
i played in college for the University of Oklahoma and every year we played in a LAN against the Texas Longhorns (Red River Rivalry). absolutely nothing can replicate that feeling on stage and coming out on top. ours wasn’t nearly this size either. brilliant work, DCC is raising some champions 💪🏽
Great episode. Thanks for sharing
An amazing video
Love your vids everytime. Been watching for years now.
I was able to do Playvs with my high school and we ended up getting second in my state. really cool to see this in a Sunless video
love when you focus on real life stuff, your story telling abilities are truly un matched, love what you do!
I got to go to a LAN event for my HS and we won the PA state championship for RL. Super cool experience to go and compete. They are really trying to branch out into esports after our win.
great story! it would be awesome if more schools did this, great to see those people having fun
They rolled this out my senior year of highschool. It was such a blast and im glad to see that 8ts still going so strong
Great story, well put together vid
thats amazing just shows how video games are making a impact in a positive way keep it going
Genuinely brought tears to my eyes! Great video
I wish I had something like that when I went to school. This is amazing. Great Video
Lets gooo, new SunlessKhan docu dropped!
I'm from Detroit and our city in general gets a bad rep. It's awesome to see such talented people come out of here. This was a great video once again Sunless
Wow. fantastic video, Sunless!!!
Love this, thanks Sunless!
CC was like my high schools second rival for soccer when I played but it’s cool to see sunless make a video about this
Absolutely immaculate story... havent played RL in years but still watch your videos
As someone who grew up in the area and has attended events at pretty much every place mentioned for not-esports reasons, this is so far above fantastic to me that I can't find the words to express it.
Watched the Wayton video yesterday (a bit later than normal as I normally watch it before the day that it was published has finished) and now watching a Sunless video today! 2 of the best Rocket League content creators posters being watched in 2 days is ALWAYS a W!
Thank you for showing the world our endeavours to reach this life long dream of ours 😄🙏
WholesomeKhan back at it with another mini docu, lets go!
I played for my high school team in 2021 and 2022 and in the spring of 2022 we hosted a match in person like this, not as many people but we played on a stage with about 100 people in the crowd watching, was so fun playing on a stage for the first time
Great and funny vid. Good job Sunless aka the GOAT
Let's support these kids in whatever way we can. Thank you Sunless for sharing their story!
Awesome story. Thanks for bringing this to the world's attention Sunless
Again such a well told story and well produced video. Great Video Sunless 🫶🏼👏🏼
