Have to go a long while back - to Hahn's performance with Mikko Franck, Paris 2 May 2019 - to equal this. Her understanding of the Sibelian flame, her chemistry with Paavo Jarvi, the commitment of the Tonhalle-Orchester, is simply stunning. Imperial.
Wow! What a masterful accompaniment; one worthy of the marvelous Hilary Hahn. Paavo Järvi is utterly fantastic! Only one other time have I heard Sibelius' dark sonorities so well-realized in the accompaniment to this concerto. And that was this very same weekend!
I don't know... but I prefer artists who don't distort their faces toooo much when performing! 😅 That's why I love Hilary Hahn so much! Her music and playing are just pure and really exceptional! What a gem! 💕
Another great performance form Hilary, as always! Yet, a little different from her other previous performances that are available here on CZcams... Bravissima! 👏👏👏 Paavo is also a great conductor. They make a beautiful musical match
I love Sibelius it’s my favorite concerto and my favorite version is Hilary’s but there have been sooo many Sibelius recordings. I wish I could see her play other pieces not just hear. Nonetheless I’m happy with this
SCIENCE BEGIN WITH COMPARISON! IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO COMPARE THE GENIUS PERFORMANCE OF HILARY WITH HER UNIQUE ARTISTRY, BEAUTY, DRESS, DEVINE HARIZMA, BECAUSE THEY ALL ARE PERFECT!
Who else did unconsciously focus on the flutes place and enjoy listening to the violin? 😊😉 Maybe due to the light spot, yah, most definiteley :) Awesome!
@@davidrussell3112 She played correctly as the audio is correct but the video editors didn't match the audio correctly they matched it to one repetition cycle behind making the video behind
@@TacticalStrike oh interesting. I guess I misunderstood what you meant. Audio stuff like that interests me and I’m trying to learn more about it. I usually run the livestream cameras at church but I kind of want to switch to audio.
@@giemoskito-cebreros5480 I compared it later to other recordings and she definitely played it wrong. To clarify it's the last note she played right before the double stops/chords of the end of the phrase.
Not everyone is perfect she played this concerto beautifully and has for years and even if she did mess up a note who cares? Just enjoy the music and stop nitpicking at small thing because there are so many factors that go into playing a concerto at that high of a level. Worry about your own musical path and artistc journey rather than judging someone else and judging by the recording on your page you have some work to do as well in regards to intonation and musicality.
@@blakesettle5965 I think there might have been a misunderstanding or overreaction of my comments. My original comment was a small inquiry about whether others also noticed if Hilary Hahn had made a mistake, not a critique of her entire performance. My intention was simply to point out whether she had made a mistake. I never meant to imply that mistakes are inherently bad or that anyone, including myself, is perfect. I also did not intend to imply that I am above her or anyone else either-I’m a mere student and could only dream of reaching the level that she is. I have great respect for Hilary Hahn and enjoy her music immensely; she has been my favorite violin soloist for a long time, so I am taken aback that you interpreted my comments as an attack on her. I appreciate your feedback on my own performance, and my mistakes delineate again that no one is perfect. One more thing about your last sentence-it’s worth noting that judging others isn’t always negative; it can be a way to evaluate strengths and weaknesses for improvement and growth. In this case, by evaluating mistakes that Hilary Hahn made, it’s reinforcing the theme that errors do not make up one’s character as a whole, like you had also mentioned. Her subsequent, excellent performances have proven this and her prior, excellent performances have also displayed this. She is a wonderful player, and this is a reminder to all of us of that lesson.
Quelle magnifique version ! ❤

Hilary Hahn and maestro Jarvi what a wonderful combination 💖💖👏🏻👏🏻
The best version of the Sibelius I ever heard, THANK YOU SO MUCH HILARY, YOU’RE THE QUEEN 👑✨💕🎻🎶

The Paris performance is indeed special.

It cannot get better than this, yet. Incredible perfomance, incredible artists. Bravo!

I was there 🤩🤩🤩
Her playing is so silky and flawless 🎻❤️🎻
Such a shame someone's alarm went off at the end of the 2nd. Beautiful performance though, Järvi has amazing interpretation.

Bravissima! 👏👏👏
Paavo is also a great conductor. They make a beautiful musical match
Easily the best interpretation of this piece I have yet to hear
Try the Sarah Chang performance on YT, much more emotional, deeply felt and exciting - both the soloist & the Dutch orchestra.
Wunderschön !
Bravissimo!
32:10 like rock’n’roll

Breathtaking performance thanks to all of you
I feel like there's not enough microphones near the violin section😢

25:52 lmao what a timing
They matched the wrong repetition at 22:40 lol
It looks like she or the orchestra played the wrong part but she recovered in a split second. It’s amazing!

At 31:13, did she shift too high and played a wrong note?
For me, she did hit the right note and did amazingly on that part! 💕

really hard harmonic to reach so quickly! most of the best soloists will still mess that up at some spot
