To the wife, a husband is a paycheck and a life insurance policy. Nothing else.
Try to watch the show without all the fake background laughter and more closely.. It is about a toxic relationship caused by both Carrie who dreams of a princess life where she gets all the money in the world without having to work, but she can't have that and she is frustrated.. And on the other side Doug who is not good at anything, who eats all the time, never taking care of himself, not good at anything, delivering packages and wasting oxigen all day. And on top, there is an old man who does what he wants, never listens, has to be taken care of, has no income. Put yourself in that situation and there is nothing funny on this show, actually.
He also used that name when he and Holly babysit Deacon kids. Author had a green army man and said….”this is O’SHANNON, he didn’t make!!!

It's a small thing that doesn't add to the episode's premise at all, but Doug immediately jumping up to grab his wife's bags without her having to ask him is a nice little touch. Small things couples do for each other to make it a bit easier on each other. I believe it's small things like that that help sell it to us, the viewers, that these two are supposed to be a married couple.
I don't know why I fixated on that little detail of all things in this clip, but I did. I just thought it was a nice small detail that helps sell the illusion of their marriage. We all know they're actors and this is fake, but it makes it look a little bit more real.

There's a lot of things like that in the show, sometimes you can see a boom mic or parts of the set. I don't find it to be any less entertaining.
And he's just shuffling around pancakes that are already done. You don't cook pancakes anything like that. poor the batter, when it's time, flip them, then when they are done put them on the plate. No sliding them around in the pan for no reason.
@@Logan_Baron Actually, my mother used to do that too, but that was when my brother and me were still upstairs getting ready for school. She would yell that breakfast is ready and turn the heat down, but she kept the pan on the fire and the pancakes in the pan, so they would stay nice and warm until we came down to eat them. I kinda liked it, actually. Warm pancakes are much better than those that have started to cool off already.
