    Hey guys, because a lot of you ask about "the cure" of that B-string problems, so here's "the cure":
    1. Open up the tremolo spring cover because it seems the trem block is hitting the cover in some positions when you play the trem arm.
    2. "Lube" the 2nd string (B-string) slot with some pencil graphite or any guitar nut "lube" material.
    Those are the things that have been done for the particular guitar that I reviewed on this video, I don't have any update for this guitar anymore, and I haven't check the newer production/batch for Cort G-300 yet but hopefully they have solve that B-string issue. That's it guys, hope that helps, and see you soon! ❤🎸❤

    Cort's version of Gotoh 510...Same bs tuning problems come with it..
    2 pt floating trem has to be locking or it's doomed, IMO...
    Looks like a winner besides that...SS frets are a major bonus...

    • @guitarvana
      @guitarvana  Před 3 lety +3

      Well, I think, every trem design has it own pros and cons, therefore we have to understand the mechanism and even some physics stuff...so we can have the better understanding and choose the right trem to suit our needs...
      Also, we can't eliminate another factor regarding tuning stability besides tremolo/bridge design/type such as nut slots, trem springs, tuning machines, strings installation, strings tension, or even intonation adjusment.
      Overall, with this guitar's price tag in my country, I think Cort has done a great job, a solid bargain in this price range competition!

      @guitarvana  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi there, unfortunately I don't have the guitar with me at the moment, so I can't make a demo video.
      Yes it has a recessed body on the tremolo, so you can do a dive bomb and also a pull up. I can also tell you that the stock trem springs characteristics are very soft and spongy. It feels very nice.
      But as for tuning stability, this guitar has a good tuning stability if you setup it correctly (even with only two stock trem springs) and make sure the nut slot is done properly!

      Hi there, thanks for the appreciation, well it depends on what you need brother, Cort G300 Pro is a dual-humbucker type guitar, but on the other hand, Yamaha Pacifica 612 and Sire S7 is a HSS type guitar, if you're looking for a guitar with dual humbucker setup, then go for Cort, but if you after the "strat neck tone", I think you will suit Yamaha or Sire better...and the other crucial factor is the neck profile, and for this crucial factor, I always recommend people to TRY and FEEL the overall feel and build quality of the instrument at the nearest local store before buying. I see, probably for the majority of Cort guitars, the nut slots are needed to be done better..
      Too bad with your purchase, but I didn't have any ground noise issue with this guitar, only the pickup selector switch feels a bit heavy at first so it needs more effort everytime I want to switch pickups, also it has some noise when I change the pickup and somehow the 4th position is not working properly sometimes, we have to find "the spot" to make it work as it should be.
      Overall it's probably only minor issues, but for a newcomers it could be real problems. You'll be lucky if there's a qualified guitar tech near your area.

    Hey man
    Really informative review
    I am digging for this guitar but after reading the customer reviews on thomann and asking some of the people who have reviewed new Cort guitars on youtube I am bit worried about the build quality.
    Most common reported issue is neck center.
    Also, how is the guitar holding tuning after flutters and all that kind of stuff, is the neck is it comfortable and suitable for fast playing?
    Is there any other kind of problem with regards to build quality, sound, aesthetic you found?
    Last one what's the price in your country?
    Though guitar is super value for money but is it really a good guitar?

    • @guitarvana
      @guitarvana  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you for the appreciation, as for neck center (or did you mean off-center?) issue, I do not have that issue with this guitar, the one that I review in my video, also the strings are lined up pretty well with the pickup pole pieces. The 1st (high E) string may feel a bit slippery and tends to fall to the side of the fingerboard, but I feel it's because the slick characteristics of stainless steel frets, and the trem springs sponginess feeling. It makes the strings feels really slick and easy to bend.
      The neck has ergo-v shape, combined with compound (12" - 16") radius fingerboard making it's a very comfortable guitar to play almost any stuffs. The neck is not too slim but not too big either on my hand as you can see on my video.
      As for tuning stability, that is the one area that I feel Cort is definitely have to make it better for this guitar... On the factory setup, this guitar is hard to stay in tune, but only on the 2nd strings (high b string) as I mentioned on the video. The rest of the strings are just fine. The solution is to re-slotted the nut slot and give it some pencil graphite for lubrication. The result is good as you can see how I play the guitar in this video, I bend it a lot, play some trem and the strings still hold in tune...
      So in conclusion, Cort G300 Pro is still a very good guitar especially at the price of USD 487 on my country.. With a good and proper guitar setup of course..
      Hope it helps!

      Yes this is what heard from most of the people that the neck and the strings are not aligned properly and (in models with fixed bridge the string slots are not properly aligned which is irrelevant to this particular model)
      Does bending any of the string brings the bridge in forward direction (which will makes other strings flat it happens with my current ibanez guitar which has a floating bridge because of which double stop bends sound ugly)?
      And yes a guitar needs to be well set-up to play to its full potential no matter how cheap or how expensive it is.
      This guitar is pretty cheap in your country your are from Indonesia right?

    • @guitarvana
      @guitarvana  Před 3 lety +1

      @@ishwarpreetsingh293 When you play a guitar with floating trem, if you bend a string, of course it will bring the trem bridge forward and it will make the other strings tuning become flat, since when you bend a string, you give some "pull" to the trem because your bending energy is bigger/heavier than the trem springs. So to me, I think it's considered to be normal case. Especially with such a soft tension springs on this Cort G300 Pro, and they only give us two springs rather than (most usually) three!
      It's very cheap here because it's made here in Indonesia....

      Yes that is what I want to know
      If there are only two springs it means there will be less tension holding the strings so this bridge coming in forward direction will be more on this I guess
      Also, you have set-up action too low isn't this causing string buzz while playing guitar unplugged and reducing the natural sustain of the strings because it would have less room to ring?

    • @guitarvana
      @guitarvana  Před 3 lety +4

      @@ishwarpreetsingh293 yes, actually you can set the trem to be a bit more toward the body so it will hold your tunings better when you bend strings, but the guitar strings will feel a bit stiffer in particular since you give more tension to it.
      This guitar have a typically flat compound radius at 12" (1-12th frets) and 16" (13-24th frets) so it will be safe if you want to set the string action very low like what I did on my video. You just have to make sure the fretwork, though, make sure the fret dress is also pretty good and flat so it will help to minimizing the buzzing issue.
      As for the sustain, despite the fact that this guitar using bolt-on type for its neck joint , I felt this guitar has a very good sustain in general!

    • @guitarvana
      @guitarvana  Před 3 lety

      Secara spesifikasi kalo di atas kertas tetep menang Cort G300 Pro sih menurut saya, nah itu yg sisi objektif nya, dimana Cort G300 Pro sudah pakai stainless steel frets, roasted maple neck, luminlay side dots, staggered + locking tuner, graptech nut, Seymour Duncan pickup set. Untuk kelebihan pada PRS SE Custom terletak pada, mungkin, brand image PRS lebih baik.
      Untuk sisi subyektif nya terletak pada neck profile dan tone yg dihasilkan dari resep masing2 gitar tsb..
      Jd saran saya, lebih baik dicoba langsung saja untuk dpt lebih menentukan mana yg lebih cocok untuk Anda.. 👍👍

      First, check your nut slots, check if there's any problems there. On my case, we re-slot the nut especially on the b-string slot. Also check out the saddle on the bridge part to see if there's friction there too.

    • @guitarvana
      @guitarvana  Před 3 lety +2

      @@above1909 hi there, for the sound/tone of course it's more of a personal preferences, since the Pacifica 612 have a HSS configuration compared to HH configs with the G300 Pro, but I ensure both of them will produce great tones since they both are using Seymour Duncan pickups set straight from the factory. As for playability they both have a rather "modern" electric guitar specs as opposed to vintage guitar specs that the Pacifica 612 fingerboard radius is 13-3/4" (350mm) compared to G300 Pro compound radius (12"-16"), having that kinda flatter radius will allowed both guitars to have a very low string action setup for a more comfortable playability. Here the Cort G300 Pro has the slight advantage because of the compound radius for the best overall feeling from 1st to 24th fret and roasted maple neck for a better neck stability. Hope that helps. ❤🎸❤

      Kalo mau pake string 010 (standard tuning) sebaiknya ganti trem springs nya atau minimal ditambah 1 per lagi karena bawaan pabriknya gitar ini cuma dikasih 2 biji trem springs nya dgn karakter yg menurut ku sih cenderung low tension ya...takutnya ga kuat buat narik senar 010 standard tuning.. Kecuali tuning gitarnya mau di buat non-standard ya monggo bisa dicoba2 sendiri...
      Masalah nut slot mesti di cek jg..
