agreed, the pores in the lava rack are amazing for bacteria and keeping great water parameters. Same with the filtration material. Just give it a quick squeeze and rinse and throw it back in.
You got an update video ? And I couldn't hear how ya hooked the hose from the pump to the pipe. Im about to pick up my create this week for bluegills and sunfish bait tank
I have a tote and a 55 gallon drum bio filter. 7 sunfish are in tank. System is about a month old. Mine is outside. Water has now turned PEA SOUP GREEN. Any idea what to do to correct this problem. I have now placed a roof over tote which blocks direct sunlight.

Swap out river rock for a bag of BBQ lava rock for the beneficial bacteria . Nice set up.
