Brilliant Rob
I enjoy your videos Rob. You have a nice friendly style. I am finding them helpful as I have just taken an interest in Severn Barbel fishing. I will join BAA this year. I live in South Dorset and fish the Wessex rivers. They are very hard for Barbel now which is why I fancy the Severn to catch a few! I have only been up once so far last month. I stayed at the Unicorn for 3 nights. Ddnt get many (6 in total) but the third one went 10.05 so pretty lucky! It was quite slow and I got the feeling it had been caned all summer! Anyway, your videos will help me when I join BAA. Keep it up and may see you up there!
Thanks Andrew - Sounds like you’re off to a great start. The BAA ticket is well worth it - Great value for the number of stretches it provides access to. Good luck 👍🎣
Good video and some lovely Chub 🎣
Hi Rob
I'm in BAA and uservto fish Apley years always found the access and walk an issue. I like how you go over that on videos has access improved on this length?Enjoy your video, thanks
Thanks David - That seems to be the case with lots of the BAA waters unfortunately. Hopefully you’re catching a few though 👍🎣
Nice one Rob👍
Thanks Steve - Good fun for an afternoon session. 🎣👍
Hi Rob have just discovered your vids and enjoyed this one , I’ve fished this area a few times caught pretty much what you have and never a barbel. Just a suggestion would be good if you could describe rods, reels, line, rigs etc. it’s always nice to know what other anglers are using on the same area/ pegs I’m liable to fish, just being nosey really ! Look forward to the next vid. 👍
Thanks Roger... Will do ref kit used and rigs. It does look a good spot for a Barbel bite there so I will be back for another dart at that peg /stretch before long.
Enjoyed that Rob. I can't wait to get back up there but 175 miles each way means it wont be for a few more weeks.
Thanks Mark.. The Severn is well worth a 175 mile roundtrip :) Tight lines on your next trip.
@@RobsAngling 175 miles each way! But yes still worth it :-)
Ouch - I didn't read that right first time around.. Still worth it..!!!
Hi mate you didn’t mention parking.. i will travel from dover.. probably over 200 miles… i love your advice
Hi, sorry for the slow reply. There is parking for a small number of cars at Apley. It’s rare all spaces are taken so you’d be unlucky not to be able to park. The parking is in the field gateways so just be careful not to block the gates directly. Good luck with your session 👍🎣
Hi Rob, I’ve just joined BAA and live in Bridgnorth, I fished the top section of this today and blanked, what sort of baits should I use and rigs for this time of year, another cracking video and lovely chub, cheers.
Hi Charlie, hope you’re well. It’s been very warm today so not the greatest conditions. On a day like today - It’s likely the last 1-2 hours of daylight before they’ll likely come on the feed. A basic fluorocarbon hair rig with pellets, boilie or meat will get you bites in the right conditions/spot. Good luck and tight lines 👍🎣
I’m new to barbel fishing. Just joined the BAA to get my first barbel on the bank. I Normally fish for carp and silvers on a method feeder on day ticket still waters. I fished the free section at Bridgnorth the weekend but only managed to have a few chub out of there. When’s the best time of year/conditions to fish for the barbel ? Cheers 👍🏼
Barbel are a relative of Carp so do have some similar patterns. They can be tough to catch when water temps are low like at present - As the water warms through Feb and early March, it should become a bit easier with Barbel become more active. Aug-Oct is my favourite time of the year for Barbel. Good luck 👍🎣
@@RobsAngling cheers Rob 👍🏼
