I heard plenty of bass-and some wonderful bass riffs-in Arabian Nights! I think it’s just that it was mixed so it wasn’t bass-heavy, if that makes sense. The higher parts got equal volume.

I was drafting this comment to write in my tomorrow morning; I cannot fall asleep so here goes:
Peter, due to your channel more than any other, I now hear and appreciate so many more layers of any song than the lead vocal which would capture almost all of my attention up until last year. The Bass Gang pieces are particularly rich with layers to enjoy.
Having typed and truly meant all of that, I have a lead lyric content question that has niggled at me since first hearing this recording without the epic video:
Does Tomi sing "the muskiest scam" instead of "the murkiest scam" in deliberate reference to the next song in volume 3, Gaston? I know there's been much commentary around the depth of Tomi's vocals confusing AI closed captions or making it hard for listeners to tell what he's singing but that lyric is very clear and it is a different word than the original and then I thought it might be another element in the way this amazing group and production crew have woven the four songs into a new story.
We'll be playing this on our best speakers for most of the neighbourhood to hear tomorrow.
This was more fun than the last. The bats added so much realism. You guys had too much fun!

I've finally gotten around to seeing your reaction and analysis of this music video, and I had an absolute blast watching and listening to you break it down! I really enjoyed this cover so much! Like with Arabian Nights, I have never seen a cover of Be Prepared be done like this, ever! It truly is one of a kind! It's so cool that you all were able to shoot this in a cave filled with bats! It doesn't get any better than that!

I can't believe what the Bass Gang has done just in a year, the incredible staging happening now is competition for VoicePlay, y'all are already past PTX and Home Free. When you did the throat Vikingish, it made me think of Native American singing.
I think this sort of subharmonic/growly use of bass is what people expect bass to be like. When you all or Geoff drop super low notes in chest its too smooth for some people to believe that it is still 'bass'. Not sure if that is making any sense.
It was actually too much bass for me. In part that is because of my hearing problems. Keeping everything that low make the sound muddy and does not cut through enough for me. Magnificent job guys!

Regarding the question about whether or not we know how Viking/Norse music sounded like: We kinda do, but not really. We mostly know what instruments they would have used, and some bits of what scales they would use etc, but what we know for certain is that it was NOT anything like what we associate with "viking music" nowadays. Definitely no throat singing or electric guitars lmao.

So if I've understood the story of the four videos so far...
1. Dude is dancing in the desert singing about how awesome his country is, then gets sucked into a lamp.
2. Some skeevy guys sing about hatching a plan, and fighting over the lamp.
3. The skeevy guys go and hang out in a pub, cause fighting over a lamp in a cave is thirsty work, y'know?
4. One of the skeevy guys has gained infinite cosmic power (and presumably improved his living space) and is having fun 'playing' with his friends and teasing the guy in the lamp.
Love this rendition of the song. Monk outfits? In my day the girls would have referred to any of you as "Father What a waste", lol. Along with the cave setting it definitely gives a culty, conspiratorial feel, though, which is certainly appropriate to the lyrics.

I love this. I think its probably the mix on Arabian Nights that needs something. I get that there are a lot of bass notes but they are not as pronounced in it. When we look at the bass gang we expect to hear the bass line. Arabian knights seems flat, one tone. I know its not just is off from what we expect. Please take this as a positive critic. Its not meant as mean.

Arabian Nights doesn't have enough bass?? What were these people listening to? No, bass didn't take center stage, but if was definitely there throughout the song. Please get yourself some good headphones and listen to it again with those. You'll hear the bass. Now for Be Prepared. This was just sinister and fabulous. Cheers to Tommy for the superior vocals.
