  • Today I’m trying Burman’s (Aldi) Chicken Dipping and Polynesian sauces. I want to see how they compare to Chick-fil-A’s sauces.

    We make our own chick fil a sauce. We use Ken's honey mustard dipping sauce and add in enough sweet baby rays original sauce to taste. It's usually not a lot of bbq sauce We add

    This makes me so happy to see videos like this!! Me and my mom shop at aldi every week and I see stuff that looks similar to fast food stuff but have been nervous on if I’m wasting my money

      A cute review but I don’t care for chick fil a at all. Sauces nor chicken.

    Sweet Baby Ray's "Ray's Chicken Sauce" is really good.. it's not quite an exact clone of Chic-fil-a Sauce, but it's definitely in the same ballpark..

    Appreciate the review. I've never tried the Poly sauce at Aldi.
    I make deviled eggs with the Aldi brand Chicken Dipping Sauce and everyone loves them! Love the bit of smokey flavor in them.

    People pay $1 per pack for Chik Fil A sauce on EBay. If they give you 6 packs at the counter, you could conceivably pay for your lunch.

    You gotta try Head Country's APPLE HABANERO
    "Crisp, sweet apples and a subtle hint of habanero light up our signature spice blends. Perfect glazed on chicken or pork."
    It's amazing, NOT HOT and very reminiscent of Chic-fil-A's Polynesian Sauce.
    I live alone and go through a couple bottles a month.

    I figured you would not like the off-brand but you did say it was okay on one of them. I wonder if your son could taste the difference in the poly sauces? Did you shake the bottles before use? I tried the Walmart Secret Sauce it was good if you have not tried it I think you should try the Walmart Secret sauce

    • @2centchick

      No, Chick-fil-A sauce is more like a honey mustard and bbq mixed together.

    Ha! I just bought two bags of Just Bare at Costco. I used to be obsessed with the Polynesian. I wish you hadn't told me about that. LOL I must be the only person in America that doesn't really like the regular CFA sauce. Your explanation actually tells me why I don't like it. the CFA Polynesian is very sweet and better than the Sweet and Sour sauce you'd get at an American Chinese restaurant. Neither of these look like the CFA Poly sauce!

    • @2centchick
      @2centchick  Před rokem +1

      Sorry about that. Lol 😀 Just curious how much is a bag at Costco?

    • @jbjacobs9514
      @jbjacobs9514 Před rokem

      @@2centchick Well I did mine through instacart, so I am sure it is cheaper in store. I paid $19.67 for a 64 oz bag of Just Bare nuggets. I think it is an okay deal only because when I would normally buy in store somewhere or instacart from a regular grocery I would pay $10-$15 for a third of that! Food costs are so insane these days. Thanks for your always entertaining and informative videos!

    Have you ever done a review comparing Aldi's Clancy Chips with a similar flavored chip from more name brand chip? Though I have not done a side by side comparison I do have to say Clancy Chips have never been a disappointment to me. I have tried several of their flavors. Sour Cream, Sour Cream Cheddar, BBQ. Jalapeno and probably others. They now have a new flavor called All Dressed. A mixture of BBQ, Salt & Vinegar and Ketchup all in 1 bite. Very heavy on the Salt & Vinegar flavor but the BBQ and ketchup sneak in too. I did get a bag of Tostito's Bite Size Round chips recently and the Tostito's was better for some reason. But considering cost Aldi's still wins. After all, if you are dipping them in a salsa or other dip you can pick up the flavor with your dipping product. Clancy $2.19 vs Tostito's at $4.79 or so.

    I'm very surprised you were less than impressed. Of all the things I've ever bought at Aldi, only one was disappointing. Otherwise, I've been very happy with everything. (The loser was their baked beans. They were good but the sauce was too watery. I'll stick to the name brands on that one.)

    • @2centchick
      @2centchick  Před rokem +1

      There have only been a few things I have not liked. Good to know about the baked bean, I like them thick.

    Either ranch or no sauce. CFA is one of few good enough to not need sauce.

    Not really a fan of those sauces. I'm a Horsey sauce person. Aldi products are very hit or miss so I'm very picky when it comes to when I'm willing to risk my money. I've heard the brownie mix is a hit and will try in the future.

    • @ordinary_average_guy
      @ordinary_average_guy Před 7 měsíci

      just curious...what is your opinion of the "Horsey" sauce at Aldi? I like it. Which brownies are u speaking of and which do they compare to? are they similar to the Ghirardelli brownies??

  • @bobbylyle960
    @bobbylyle960 Před rokem

    I don't like the Aldi's chicken dippin sauce. It has too much vinegar in its taste for me. I had to go back to the Chick-fil-a sauce. Funny thing I do not like the Chick-fil-a chicken but I do like their sauce. Our local Aldi has had their own sauce for a few years, so it is not new.
