- Many acrylic tubs rest on a number of thin plastic fins that can break over time leaving the tub more susceptible to cracking. Then it happens! Crack! You look down only to see a big ol crack in the tub.
You could put all the effort in to loosen the surround, take the tub out, spend hundreds on a new tub, and install it, and re-secure the surround. not to mention your whole weekend just got ruined.
Or
Break out the rotary tool, a can of expanding foam, and some epoxy and FIX it for good with minimal time and effort!
This is a great Redneck DIY Repair just shy of duct tape stature! Stick with me and I'll show ya how it's done.
AS ALWAYS!

what epoxy did you use, and how long has this fix lasted?
Sorry I had some major changes in my life so I haven't been on or made new videos in a while but I used a 5 minute marine epoxy from Lowe's. This fix is still holding strong as of today.
@@creativeredneckin7258can you put a link to the 5 minute marine epoxy?
Question: Does it matter what kind of foundation you have? I'm up on blocks, no slab. I imagine it would still make sense to do it this way because the foam would be between the tub and the sub floor? I'm a newish homeowner trying to save some money. Ha ha
I don't think it would matter on the foundation. The foam really is just in there to take up space so the fiberglass doesn't flex. Sorry I've been busy trying learn how to be a single dad of 2 very busy boys since my wife passed so I haven't been on or making new videos for a bit.
why cant u just use flextape
Probably could but I think this is a more permanent fix. Lol
