This is a track from British vocalist TJ (Teresa Jane) Davis’ fan composed “20th Anniversary” album. This album includes several of her singles, remixes, and covers along with all the tracks she contributed to the soundtracks of Sonic R and Metropolis Street Racer. The album has been uploaded here for the enjoyment of all in its entirety but in a re-composed order as the original raw download file was organized poorly. The album has been re-ordered into 28 main tracks and 13 extra tracks that are mostly remixes of a few of the 28 main tracks:
12 singles/remixes/covers
7 tracks from the Sonic R soundtrack
9 tracks from the Metropolis Street Racer soundtrack
13 extra tracks
The raw download for this album also included word documents of fan tributes in various languages, a short biography, a short interview, a newsletter from TJ Davis to her fans, 3 testimonials from people she has worked with, 28 various photos of TJ Davis, videos for the tracks “I Believe”, “In Love With You”, and “Yesterday Has Gone”, and 21 recordings of live performances from her (audio only). These contents of the album will not be uploaded here (the 21 live performance recordings could be if desired but honestly due to their poor quality it’s not really worth it), however if anyone would like to have these contents I would be more than willing to share the albums contents by email or direct you to the link to download the raw file for yourself.
Also please note many of the tracks within this album appear to be equalized and mixed very poorly. For instance there were large blanks of pure silence before and after some of the tracks that have been trimmed off for your listening convenience. A few of the tracks also cut abruptly as opposed to fading out smoothly. Also, while none of the tracks appear to be unlistenable there are a few in which the higher frequencies may be slightly assaulting to the ear especially if you’re using high quality headphones and/or speakers, this is also why the overall volume of the album throughout listening may seem to fluctuate from track to track.

TJ Davis has a voice of an angel. I can't believe she wasn't a bigger star in the 90s. She's a great singer.
Probably due to most of her music charting in the UK as opposed to ever in the US, that would be my guess.
I mean I like the songs, but her singing ability isn't exactly the best ;D

She is beautiful and so are her songs. Sonic R and 3D Blast (Flickies' Island) for Sega Saturn have the best soundtracks of all franchise.

She sure is! As a matter of fact, she came to a Sonic convention in Bristol, where she hung out with fans, signed stuff and sung her iconic songs in the franchise! It was so insane going to the bar of the hotel and talking to her there and on the lift back to the floor of the convention! 😂

My guess would be because her music charted in Europe never the US, also the 2 games she did soundtracks for weren't really games that a lot of people know. Sonic R is basically a meme feeling like a near unplayable game at times and Metropolis Street Racer if I'm correct came out on a system that was nearing it's end so not too many people played that either. Basically I would chalk it up as simply her music jusy didn't recieve the exposure it deserved as most of her works are found in places not a lot of people were looking.
Because she didn't read The Power of Relentless by Wayne Allen Root.

There are several mixes of Brilliant Feeling and I think about 2 of Breakout but I was refering specifically to the versions in the 20th Anniversary playlist but I noticed you've already seen them both after seeing your comments on both videos so all good :)

If you listen real carefully in the chorus, you can hear a bit of "Green Grove" from the Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast's soundtrack. And knowing that Richard Jacques composed this song, it wouldn't surprise me if this was intentional.
Absolutely, Richard Jacques did such an amazing job on so many Sonic tracks and he often would take and feature smalls parts or even just single sounds from one song to another.

This was one of only 4 songs that I would have my MSR playlist. Spent countless hours with this song in the background, while tearing through the streets of virtual London.
Brings back great memories now, as a 37 year old git, with two kids. lol
This one is definitely a classic, one of her best works.

If there was ever a Sonic R 2 in the late 90's or early 2000's, many of the songs in Metropolis Street Racing would have been mesmerizing amazing to hear in it. I bet critics would be mind blown with this if it was featured in a Sonic game lol

Super underrated harmonies
This song does nothing but uplift you and make you feel warm inside. I love love love this woman's voice. MY best gaming days were during the Saturn and TJ's voice is big part of that. Great song.

@@JackTheGamer3 Can't give you a definite yes or no on that question because I simply don't know the answer. What I can tell you is they were both very entwined with the music of SEGA games at around the same time so it was inevitable that they'd end up working together. Eventually they did and ended up making some very memorable tacks together. Both have said they enjoyed working with each other in the past so I can't say best friends but they're definitely fond of each others talents and work.

Yes it was, I've always loved her work in Sonic R and was recently introduced to her work in Metropolis Street Racer and then stumbled across some of her works aside from those game soundtracks and was able to download her 20th Anniversary album and enjoyed it so much I decided to share it. If you haven't already I highly recoment checking out songs like Brilliant Feeling, Breakout, and Wonderful Life. There are a total of 41 tracks from her uploaded on this channel, 3 tracks were struck down for copyright claims so you'd have to download the album to hear them (link in the description).
