I taught real estate appraisal classes for 10 years, and I always told the class that home ownership is nothing but the right to pay the taxes, and taxes are enforced with government guns.
We don't legally own anything. Even our children can be taken from us because we "registered" them with the govt via a social security number and birth certificate and now the govt reserves the right to take. Same with a vehicle. Anything you have to "register" you don't actually own. It's a lie

I think especially for top roles like president, vice president, governor and mayor, it should be more than citizenship. There are millions of people that were born in the country because the mother flew in when she was a few months pregnant, she spent a year here then left again to China, or Mexico or Peru or India. I think of America as a home, with roots and families going back generations and a people. That's more than papers the government gives out.

This issue is for the states. EVERY state needs to sign legislation to help evict squatters. You either produce a deed, a (valid) lease, or something showing you are paying taxes on it. As many in this forum have mentioned, the state seems to know exactly who owns it when tax time comes around. So why do they fail so completely when it comes to enforcing that ownership when thieves try to take it?

There are reasonable squatter laws that basically allow someone to take over upkeep in a long derelict property and after a certain time of maintaining that upkeep, I think two years on a property that has been derelict for at least 5, they can become the property owner, but those are a far cry from lazy millennial and zoomer parasites breaking into people's homes and claiming to be tenants and therefore unable to be removed.

If I were a cop, I literally could not come home and look my kids in the eye knowing that I had arrested someone for living in their home.
Well you might come home without a job and a way to feed them. The cops are most often just doing their jobs. I’d be willing to bet the great majority of them strongly disagree with this squatter law.

@@jamesblakeman sometime things aren’t what they seem on a video clip and sometimes peoples situations force them to bend the knee . This negativity towards the police isn’t going well and will be bad for all of us . Sure lots of really bad cops out there but people continue to just blanket label them as the bad guys

Housing documents should have a photo graph of the owner to prevent stuff like this and have the document with the photo copied and given to the local authorities to hold as proof of ownership.

If my car is stolen and the thief puts gas in it, does the thief or carjacker now get to keep it? If a gun is stolen and the thief puts bullets in it, does this mean that he is now the rightful owner? Claiming somebody else's property as your own because you are in possession of or modified it doesn't make it yours. This is clearly theft and fraud.
Yes, you are correct it is theft and fraud. However they are the one's in possession of whatever it is. This is how communism and socialism works. They take what you and I have, keep some for themselves and distribute the rest amongst the chosen ones. For the last 30 years the chosen have been minority women and lgbq.
