The S3 helmet marks a milestone in Schuberth's sport touring helmet lineup. The lid draws safety attributes from racing helmets and pairs them with the plush comfort of touring helmets. New EPS material enhances shock absorption, while a neck roll improves Aeroacoustic performance, delivering both protection and convenience.

Lost me at DOT only. Don't understand why we couldn't get the ece version
I'm not really sure if they really make 2 variants because running one design is probably cheaper in mass manufacturing.
We have this helmet with ECE 22.06 in Norway
I want this helmet so bad
Nice to see that they integrate the speakers but I wonder how the compatibility with 3rd party systems is like?
As in, can you use them with a universal Cardo or Sena system, or do you need to swap the stock speakers to the ones that come in those comms.
I legitimately do not understand the manufacturers pushing ant particular coms onto the customer. You want to make something "integrated", then make it compatible. Otherwise it becomes a deterrant instead of an attractive feature.
@@VasyaIvanovichPupkineventually this fad will pass ... it will just take a couple of product generations and a lot of frustrated customers for helmet manufacturers to get the message.
is this the daytona quiet helmet? I have a scorpion 1400, but the wind noise is very loud, it is impossible to stand it without earplugs.. should I replace it with this one?
Noise level is hard to gauge, since it has more to do with the wind going around your unique bike / body than the helmet design, however, the Schuberth is one of the quietest helmets as claimed by Schuberth themselves. We'd still recommend wearing ear plugs every ride if you would like to save your ears from long term damage though, regardless of which helmet you ride with.
If the detents are like the c5 it will just slam shut while riding.
The sc2 has terrible FM radio reception for me. Its okay during the day, but at night when they lower the power of the FM signal goodluck.
C5 never slammed shut on me even at 150km/h.
Based on feedback we provided on the C5, the detents have actually been improved for this helmet.
DOT minimum standard no Snell and the other have moved to the new ECE 2206 for additional safety , I guess they do not want to compete with Scorpion, Shoei or many others that have moved to the new ECE standard for Safety into North America , Not impress with this for the price .. Its a good brand but I guess not for North America. ( and only 2 shell ???)
yea that confused me too. I can get a cheapo biltwell with ECE now, but not a premium lid like this? Probably due to the sun visor, which i've never seen higher than a DOT rating in any brand. Still, a bit disappointing.
HJC i71 comes with ece 2206 rating and a ton of great designs
odd their website says it is ECE, maybe it thinks im in europe. Def a bummer.
Myah I will stick with my perfect Shoei GT Air and for a budget option the HJC i71 is a far better option
DOT standards a joke. I wouldn't trust my head with this.
