- Now I know its a lil late but February has come to an end and its now time for me to Unbox every vinyl that I got in February! Of course there's a lotta hip hop & rap vinyl in this collection and its only right that I add even more!

Even though i'm not a big fan of Nas' KD and Magic series, i still gotta say that Nas killed it with those two trilogies. Loved that he came back with the hunger and kept the consistency going on an MC level.
The strips wrapped around the covers are called OBIs. They are originally a Japan thing. They would slap these on their own pressings of foreign recordings with information in japanese lettering. Way later in the last 10 years or so, those japanese OBIs were also adapted in rap releases, usually with strictly limited variants. But now they're used way more liberately.
With the cellophane or shrinkwrap. For like 5 years give or take i open it only on the side where the records come out but i'd still leave the shrinkwrap intact for the hype sticker and extra protection. Only with gatefold releases i remove the shrinkwrap entirely.
Hey thanks for taking the time to comment and watch the video! I'll be honest and say before KD & Magic I wasn't all that much of a fan either but those projects have made me consider him in my personal top 5. Completely agree with what you're saying, he killed that ish!

I usually open the records the old fashion way: by rubbing the part that will be open onto my pants. It warms the plastic up and ... tada... it opens by itself.
