The Secret Ingredient brings us a love story between a small town baker Kelly (played by Erin Cahill) and a professionally trained chef Andrew (played by Brendan Penny) who also happens to be Kelly's ex-fiance. While most of the movie is focused on the Valentine's Day baking show, it also focused a lot on the struggle Kelly faces, still having feelings for Andrew, still very much in love with Andrew, but hesitant to accept the fact because she doesn't want to lose everything she has worked so hard for. Andrew, on the other hand, is avoiding coming home from Paris because seeing Kelly would remind him of how much he loves her and how much he wants to grow old with his childhood sweetheart and fulfill their dreams.
