      Today, they would still make documentaries about us but it's all about negative things happening here. Their favorite to cover is the slums of Manila which they make it look like the whole country lives like that, when in fact it's just a small percentage of population

      in the early 1970 to 1971 minimum wage in Metro Manila was between 4 to 7 pesos
      if you are working and earning 7 pesos a day, your are already working in a top high paying company in Manila
      it's like earning 700 pesos today
      most people in rural areas were happy earning 2 - 3 pesos per day
      it's like earning 200 - 300 pesos today

      Laging tandaan na ang piso noon ay malaking halaga dahil ang sahod sa pagkakaalala ko ay 4-7 pesos per day. Oo, ang piso madaming mabibili pero hindi 560 a day ang sahod noon kundi below 10 pesos lang din. It's sort of basically the same as of today. Except the fact na ang taas ng inflation dahil bobo at walang pinagaralan ang presidente sad but true.

    Enjoyed watching this short footage of the 70's! Can't ignore the fact that Manila was way cleaner back then and looked more affluent too. But it saddens me to think that majority of the lively people captured on video are probably all dead by now. Whew.

    During that time 1970’s even early 1960’s Philippines was ahead to Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, even China that means mas angat at asenso tayo kesa sa ibang parte ng bansa sa Asia ang nakakasakit lang kay nagiging behind tayo starting 1986 to present but from 2023 and this 2023 babangon muli ang bansang Pilipinas 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

    Remember that this is a promotional video. Its shows the positive side of the Philippines and leaves out the negative. Romanticizing the past. There was poverty way back then too. The population has more than doubled since then and therefore making Manila one of the most congested and overpopulated cities in the world.

    I remember when they had many factories in the Philippines. Ford even had a assembly plant there. You can thank Aquino for the industry leaving the Philippines because of her ties to China. It all moved to China and India.

    It's jsut sad that this once beautiful country was my country well it is still technically beautiful today but its jsut that the phillipines has been darkened by corruption, war, politics jsut to name a few our heroes worked hard the presidents who were actually good like marcos i mean marcos was very inspirational during his early years but during his latter years he became obsessed with power and now continuing on to the other presidents like the presidents before marcos they made the phillipines a very prosperous country full of color, wealth, discipline and more i jsut want to somehow go back to those days but we need to think ahead into the future so we could do much better and forget about the past well in the end we're all jsut filipinos why fight over a country that's the country your foes live in too.

We are one of the countries that has a huge improvement since the pandemic.

    It's interesting to know that our motherland was once known for how advanced it was, but our great nation has gone backwards. I suppose what comes up must come down, but I believe we can rise again stronger than before, if only the people would just stop fiending and payed more attention to what the enviroment needs to set a better life for the children of tomorrow. Politics really got the best of everyone, but it can't be avoided, it's just upsetting to know that political wars often lead to the fall of humanity.
