      He's a smart guy - just cut from a different cloth. I think Angie fell in love with him after seeing his peenoose in starred up and Brad got really jealous and bought one of those enlargers but Angie found it and thought it was a utensil for unblocking sinks and Brad just played along (luckily it does actually unblock sinks). That's what I read.

    what I really liked about this movie, besides the great acting and the other movies she made is that she is not using these high profile (boring I think already, we all know who they are) actors (who probably demand a lot of cash anyways and think of themselves as invincible and that people need to bow to them left and right), but other actors who are great at their craft and really talented. She did the same thing in another movie she made about the war that broke up Yugoslavia. She used Serbian, Bosnian (etc. Slavic) actors who like she said, told their own story and I'm sure could really relate what was happening in their country. She tells true historic accounts that are really raw and gripping, things that relate to human emotion and that's what is important, besides introducing new talent. I am not a big fan of Angelina Jolie or the way she does life and many of the things she upholds, but for many of her choices in movies and as a director I am and applaud her for that.

    I went to see this movie with no expectations and found it to be really good. I couldn't look at times. More importantly I became immersed in the personal story, when they moved camps I remember thinking please don't let the Japanese guy be here and feeling for the prisoners when he walked out. A sign of a great film.

  • @ohyeahmeow
    @ohyeahmeow Před 9 lety +13

    What a great interview! I haven't watched other Oscar nominated films yet beside Wes Anderson's the Grand Budapest Hotel, but so far Unbroken is the best movie I've seen this year which again won't be recognized by the Academy Awards. Wes Anderson's situation was like Angelina Jolie now. He is extraordinarily talented with a unique style of directing, but he wasn't credited enough and wasn't recognized by the Awards. I hope his comedic thriller gets to win this year since Unbroken has been robbed so badly. People, please do not stick your faces up to the critics' asses!!! Do be your own soul and judge the art fairly by the scale of your heart. You are the commander of your taste. I am so fucking sick of people saying " oh based on Rotten-Tomatoes, Oh the critics didn't like it ..blah blah blah..." Really? On this high scaled level of the art judging is only the imagination of the measurement. It's simply unfair. It's like they all work for the bitch upstairs who happens to like butter and they all have to get fat to make her happy. Unbroken moved the audience in tear. It's successfully done and making huge money despite its tall order of pleasing everyone because it is a biography not to mention the great acting of the casts, but poor Jolie, she must have to wait for her turn as it is how it works in Hollywood.

    • @ohyeahmeow
      @ohyeahmeow Před 9 lety +2

      It really is. As a story telling biography, a good director knows not to use too much creative methods because they will overshadow the story especially when it comes to a huge story like Louie Zamperini. The film is a serious story with a serious message of human's strength and spirit. The film of history and biography, she can't really play so much with directing creativity. I think the critics are expecting too much of her being as a new female director or their intimidation of a young lady boss. However, I think it would make a huge controversy if she gets nominated or even wins the Oscar because being known as the fortunate beauty of Hollywood, It's a slap in the face if she wins over the experienced directors. The young actors are really amazing though. I hope they get recognized and will be doing well in their acting career.

    This movie should have won something, anuthing. It was really well done, images, story, it was portrayed well in the movie. You can see and feel it, every moment the audiences could live inside this Heroic man story Louis Zamperini. It was real life story too, and a Hero. More even people in everyday life could relate to his story and inspiration and bravery. The actors were great, brilliant! It is really sad that this was not even nominated for any Oscars whatsover not pictures, actors, images and scenes seriously!!?? Still very pissed. Sometimes You don't get if those award were made for talented people or for commercials and publicity. The movie about Queen won a lot of trophees indeed it was great but compared to this movie Unbroken, worse fantastic , futuristic movies great fairy tales and fantasy are winning Oscars too. Very disappointing though. But We'll done and great work for Angelina Jolie, talented and beautiful, smart I admire this woman because she is unstoppable and she challenge herself more and more🙌🌹🌹 My father raise me and taught that if you want to be wise you don't compete with people, you compete with yourself, you set a challenge for yourself adding to that learn and work with passion. Congratulations!! Great movie👏👏👏

    I think it's amazing to see actors become directors. Since they have enough experience in the area, but it's still challenging because it's very different from what they usually do. (I don't know that much of examples, but I believe Rose McGowan's turning director and Natalie Portman as well, and, of course, Angelina.)

    Wonderful movie...very well done with great acting, sets, CGI! But it only captured 2/3rds of the book. They could have spent another hour but I think the movie probably ended where it needed to. Do read the book(s) and watch the CZcams interviews to get more of the story. It was a really well done movie.

    Unbroken SUCKED. Had some nice moments, all of them in the first half hour. Then, it was a pale imitation of Rescue Dawn and Empire of the Sun. Christian Bale where art thou? And, to make it perfect masturbation fodder for Mel Gibson, we are treated to loads of beatings, followed by an on-the-nose crucifixion/Jean Valjean homage. Plus, the villain looked like Sigourney Weaver in drag.
