One of my favorite memories of going to my first Monsterpalooza was getting to meet and talk to Carla Laemmle. She was such a sweetheart.

Question: Have you ever thought about writing a book, Antonia? You wouldn’t have to type one up in a month, but even just as a lifelong project? Watching your videos it’s great to see all the photos that you share, and you could definitely even include a photo section in your hypothetical book. I’d be first in line to read it. I am all ears to hear any and all stories about your Aunt Carla and would love to just read an entire section of chapters about her. You have such a voice and presence that leaves me even more fascinated in Universal history and lore. No pressure or anything; you don’t have to write a book, your CZcams Channel still works. 😊

As a child of the 60's I loved all the Universal monster movies, I bought all the Aurora plastic model kits. It was a great time to alive. I'll forever have fond memories of that time.

This video, and all your videos to one degree or another, really put a face on Universal. I doubt most people, and even yourself in the beginning, see Universal as a "personality" in the same way that they might see a company like Disney. We all know "Uncle Walt" but not "Uncle Carl." Universal is just a big corporation variously owned by NBC or Viacom or whomever. Your work is really building up an engaging sense of pre-1936 Universal as a family and a suite of personalities around that family. It's an interesting change in perspective, so thank you for it!

As a little girl, I thought there were only two film studios: Disney & Universal. How I bless Junior for not backing down when he said, "Now we make monster movies!" & everybody else said, "EWWWWWW!" He made my childhood! I would have killed to meet your Aunt Carla. What a doll she was! I guess I always knew all these facts you pointed out in this video, but I never assembled them all together in my head. I hope you burst with pride every single day. And thank you for permission to call the great man Uncle Carl, too. I honour him in my heart! 🔩 ❤ ⚡

I love your channel and content!💖💖💖 Thanks for posting these things! I'm a HUGE Phantom phan, so I really enjoy your Phantom-related content. Thank you for answering our questions and I really enjoyed hearing your story. I'm glad you had humble beginnings and didn't take it for granted. But I'm also glad that you came to L.A. in time to meet your sweet aunt, Carla Laemmle. And as for you working for Universal, if you did, I would be very happy and supportive of you. But if not, you at least have a fantastic channel here. I wish your Uncle Carl was still alive to see how far his company went. Crazy to think how much of a staple Universal Studios still is in the entertainment world! Thank you!🥰

Thanks for sharing your stories. I have had, and still have a great love for the Universal Monsters. I started when I was about 9 years old. I'm going on 61 now. These films have been a huge part of my life. I sometimes feel as if these films are lifelong friends.

Your family is pretty amazing. With all those accomplishments, the greatest (IMHO) are the lives that were saved through the efforts of your Uncle Carl. We al end up doing our part to help our fellow humans; however, he put himself, and the business, on the line to do so when it wasn’t necessarily a popular thing. A lesson we all need to be reminded of!

It's hard to measure up to a man like that. I agree it shows something so special in him that he was willing to do the right thing even when so many others were against him. I always try to remember that when it feels like I'm up against the odds!

I met Carla Laemmle at a Monsterpolooza in Burbank, I think around the Spring of 2014, a few months before she passed away. Her family was there of course, and heck, I think that maybe Antonia was there as well, but I just don't recall.

Hey there, you are such a sweet young soul and I wish you much success and happiness in pursuing your dreams. I really appreciated your genuineness in sharing parts of your family ancestry with us.
I consider myself an above average movie buff, certainly no Quentin Tarantino but for my generation I am above average, because I do have an appreciation for the art of movie making. I have a lot of Universal Blu-rays 4K etc. and am a big fan of Abbott and Costello movies; fav is when they meet Frankenstein.
    Best to you!😎

I loved this video, I burst out into tears at those two beautiful pictures of you with your Aunt Carla, I surprised myself! Absolutely, I love you sharing your own personal journey as well as your straight historical videos. To be honest, we get some of your personal journey in the historical videos......and we learn lots of history int he personal ones! So for me, it's all the same! That's why I subscribed! Because of this platform we're on, I discovered your Aunt Carla through that incredible Kevin Brownlow miniseries, "Hollywood: A Celebration Of The American Silent Film", that's when I fell in love with the entire era and I've been obsessed with it ever since. PS: Have you ever considered interviewing Kevin Brownlow???? He's still alive, he interviewed your aunt, knows all about your family, that would be incredible!! (Just one request: ask him about meeting Mary Pickford! I get chills reading those accounts in both "Parade's Gone By" and "Mary Pickford Rediscovered"! I LOVE THIS CHANNEL. Don't change a thing! Keep following your muse and instincts! I'm grateful to have a living connection to this relatively new obsession (ten years).....about an era so long ago. And you yourself are a class act and we're rooting for you, whatever the future holds, as you say. This channel is, in itself, an accomplishment and absolutely is in the great, groundbreaking tradition of your family name! Much love, respect and gratitude!

Hey, great video as always! I found out about the history of universal after becoming obsessed with the Old Universal Horror movies around the age of 13 and reading everything I could get my hands on about them. It's had a really important impact on my life as I'm really hoping to make studying film history an important part of my career. I will always be grateful for the inspiration learning about Universal and the Laemmle family gave me.

Hi Antonia Carlotta - A while back I texted you about how you and your family (or "faemmle") felt about "Oppenheimer" winning Best Picture at the Oscars(R) weeks ago. I'm pretty sure it would still make your great grand-uncle Carl proud. I bet he's smiling from above. (R)(C) A.M.P.A.S

Hi. My name is Fábio and I'm from Brazil. I have a great interest in the history of Universal Studios, and I have in my collection several films that were produced by Carl Laemmle and his son. I've already watched some of your videos, and although my English isn't good enough to understand everything, I can say that I really liked it. I hope God blesses you greatly.

Excellent presentation! I’ve been a Universal monster fan since I was 5, and saw the last few minutes of Son of Frankenstein (I thought Karloff was the hero, and Basil Rathbone the villain). Question: what is the film still at 2:17? Looks like some sort of ornate musical, but I don’t recognize it.
