Came for the review, stayed for the beautiful cinematic shots.
thank you!! this camera is a pure joy to use!
Think I just found my new Sub
Man your content is just the kind that im always looking for. Top quality, positive vibes and most importantly, showcasing the work (which by the way is incredible, you are really talented)
Thank you for what you do, im really grateful to see your videos.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I’m glad you’re enjoying these little videos. These comments are what keeps me going. More to come!
This is just what I have been looking for! Amazing review! Amazing examples used!!
Everything about this video is amazing!!
This video is just insane, thank you. I just bought an a6700 and am learning more and more about its capabilities every day. Your content is such high quality and so informal, with no fluff in-between. To add, your shots both video & photo are so beautiful. Thank you again
Thanks, Tom!! It definitely a great camera that outputs a lot of power! glad you enjoyed this one and definitely keep shooting with this camera. you can get such great images with it!
Awesome review, love the musical choices and cinematic vibe
This helped so much in my decision. Great video!
Love your videos man. Very insightful and your footage looks incredible. Cheers from the States!
Thanks man!! glad you enjoyed it
Great practical walkthrough of the a6700 in practical use, just what I was looking for :) Also so fun to watch the footage since I was just in Japan this summer, visiting the teamLabs Planet exhibition/experience, amazing stuff :)
Japan’s one of a kind 😍
I love your video! Exactly what I needed. It would be really good if you could do a video on cinematic video setting for a6700!
Victor was really speaking to me directly in that vlog segment 😭 thank you so much man! Hopefully next you will show us how to expose for skin tones using zebras or your preferred method when vlogging 🙏🏾 always appreciate your efforts my guy

@@VictorLaforteza thank you so much brother! ❤️🫡
Great video and review. Nice seeing a fellow car lover as well.
Gotta love JDM!
I still have my a6600 which was my first ever "pro" camera haha. Loved that thing so much, and even today it's still great! It took some crazy photos, and it made learning extremely easy. It did have a few flaws that make it harder for me now as a more high level videographer like the screen flipping up instead of sideways, but it seems like Sony has fixed a lot of those troubles with the a6700!
Definitely! The a6600 is still a beast but the little upgrades they made to the a6700 just made it better!
@@VictorLafortezai've tried pushing the a6600 to its limit and one huge setback the camera has is the fact that it doesn't have enough color information. You have to nail your exposure and white balance and the overall look 100% since pushing the image even slightly will introduce artifacts. But that camera can work like a beast. Best thing about it is the absolutely magnificient battery life.
I love using this camera too. I live in Japan and this camera helps me get out more! Tomorrow is the Festival of Times in Kyoto! I can't wait!
it's so fun in Japan! happy that this camera makes you go out more with it!! Enjoy the festival
Amazing video, sick of people just talking about the camera, we want to see it in action! You just earned another subscriber
Victor, this was extraordinary ❤ top notch 👏 what lens did you use for the close-up shots in de beginning?
Thank you! Much appreciated brother! ❤️ I used the Sirui 50mm Jupiter Macro lens!
It's quite surreal to see your video because I went to the same places and took the same camera a couple of weeks ago. ❤
Recently bought this camera and the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 while currently travelling through Europe and I couldn't be happier.
Such a great travel combo! That lens is perfect for that all in one use 💯
MAN you have the best videos and your way of reviewing is mindblowing
please do more a6700 videos plsssss
U RE A LEGEND
much appreciated! more to come :)
cinematic review idea is astonishing
Brilliant, so well done.
Thanks Philip!
So happy I found a review by someone that doesn’t babble on about specs I have no understanding of. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Loved this.
great work as always bro! loved the chapter cards btw! *chef's kiss*
thanks dude! I had so much fun making those!!
Victor posts and I click
and I spam the heart button. Thank you dude!!!
Great video thanks!
Gracias!! I appreciate your take on the camera. Great breakdown. Any suggestions for long recording of 4K that is hybrid?
I think A7Siii would be great since the sensor pixel count is smaller! or this with a fan would extend it's overheating time.
@@VictorLaforteza Thank you Victor!!
My man, you are simply on a whole other level, entirely. Your keen eye for colours (particularly the dark orange-skewed luts) are quite literally half of what I look for in my own personal preferential line of photography and videography, alike. Your work is beyond a stunning sensory overload, due to being so impossibly/richly striking to the eyes, and as such, you are simply sensational, to put it sparingly.
This video, alone, is enough to push me over the edge in effectively making my otherwise gruellingly torn decision of purchase, for me. That’s how powerfully convincing your fine work is, brother. Take heart in that, if nothing else.
Biggest compliment ever 🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it and helped with your buying decision as well!
Hi! Love your videos! Can you suggest a lens for filming hybrid content for social media (golfer content so great for outdoor lighting and has stabilization)? 😊

coming from a Canon m50 mark ii, I was really wanting to try out full frame (like the A7 IV) but honestly this camera seems just as good
you know im studying movie directing and im starting it with low budget i have a6400 and viltrox 23mm .. and i started to lose passion .. but honestly every time im watching your videos i feel like im getting passion again ,,
i really appreciate your existence ❤❤❤❤
keep that flame burning!! you've got a great setup already focus on making those movies!

ooohh i just saw your reply today ..
i feel great reading this ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
amazing video like always what is the secret sauce for the prism blur you put in your videos
it's just that stock prism blur on davinci resolve!
Stunning videography!!!
Thanks a ton!
I absolute love watching your content ❤️i have a question can i buy it as my first camera for travel vlogging and cinematography and which lens do you recommend??
100%! It’s a great one. Match it with sigma 18-50 2.8 would be great
This was beautiful
You’re so good it’s almost discouraging haha. My footage never looks this good. What ND filters do you use?
Hahaha all about just having fun and learning to push the footage! I currently use NiSi true color VND
I love your content ❤ I wonder how you get trained? You're so good at what you do. Do you have any recommendations for me where to study the in depth of film making? I own A6700 now 😊
years of filming videos! I would say self study is good enough and then try to learn on set and other professionals!
What a great review,
Hey im in japan atm aswell for holiday. Team labs in tokyo was a great experience. Ps very nice footage
enjoy japan to the fullest! 🙌
This is a really nice video, I’m tempted to buy this camera despite not being full frame.
May I ask what the song is at 0:42? Thank you
Hi Victor! Loved this video! Can you suggest a lens for shooting both video and photo for social media (golf content so outdoor, run and gun, must be easy to travel with) I’m debating between the Tamron 17-70 or Sigma.. but if you have a Better suggestion I’d much appreciate it Thanks!
You can't go wrong with any of the two! They often go on sales too if you can wait
I think im grabbing this camera. Great video!
Do you live in Japan? Have you seen Tokyo Vice? Makes me want to visit!
It’s an amazing cam!! Nah I live in Taiwan! Super close to Japan so we can easily go there 🙌🏽
Hey ya Victor, would you reckon that the 16mm + the Stabilisation on would be a sufficient wide view for vlogging? And also how is the overheating now? Did it resolve?
Should be okay! Overheating isn’t an issue as long as you’re not filming an hour long straight.
Great review! and Beautiful shots!!
Which other lenses have you used in this video like for the shots at 0:36 till 2:05, chapter 2 and especially on 4:54? Or was it all shot with the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN?
Yep! Everything here was shot on the sigma 16mm!
@@VictorLaforteza Thankyou! I wanted to ask you for day time shots do you set it at +1.7 and let the camera do the work (shutter priority mode) and ISO set to 800?
@@artisticminds4337 yup! I do that most of the time. Sometimes If I see that it's too bright, I adjust a bit down to 1.3 but that's rarely the case!
Love the video, may I ask Wht front u using for the chapter ❤
Bebas neue !
This video deserves millions of views like wow
big compliment! thank you!!
The Sony A6700 is essentially looks great it's the hybrid version of the Sony FX30 without the Fan. I might purchase the Sony A74 instead and along the way maybe the Sony A7C Mark 2 or a second hand Sony A74
Thanks for the review, I’m going to pull the trigger on a A6700 + Sigma 16/1.4 and Sigma 56/1.4.
What filters did you use? Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/4 or 1/8 or Glimmerglass 1?
Thank you 🤙🏻
Amazing combo especially with the 56! I didn't use any diffusion filters actually!
Awesome review! You’re not worried about the single card slot for professional work?
thanks! and nope! I've shot with just one sd card before although yeah, I highly advise to get a something that has dual recording of some sort.
Kamusta Victor. Nice video always! Having a hard time what to buy now... I own a6500 but I wanted to upgrade... fx30 or a6700...
Depends what you need! Hybrid, go for a6700. If you’re mostly doing videos, fx30 makes a lot of sense!
Hi Victor, I'm looking for a new camera. I use it a lot for low light photography, maybe use it occasionally for videography. then I considered two cameras, the Sony A6700 + Sigma 18-50 or Sony A7C Mark II with Kit Lens. I would consider buying the A7C Mark II because it doesn't have overheating problems compared to the A6700 and full frame is more beneficial in low light conditions. For lenses, I know fullframe ones are more expensive than apsc, but for lenses, maybe I will buy them once or twice a year. Maybe you have suggestions for me?

love the video. What did you think of teamLab Planets?
It was soooo good. The best part was the sphere thing. Which one's your fave?
Hey bro…can i ask what text template do u use for the yellow/orange in the video’s thumbnail?
Great video. I just ordered the Sigma 16mm, because I thought it was a very sharp lens. But In most of your shots I see the sides are blurry. Please tell me that is a stylistic choice and not the way that lens behaves... Hoping I didn't make a mistake with the 16mm.
it's added in post so no need to worry!
Cool!
This was an amazing review, especially the cinematic b roll. What was your workflow like? Did you film in 30p and edit in a 24p timeline slowed down to 80%? It has that dreamy feel associated with 24p but didn't have the stuttering associated with 24p in a 24p timeline
Thank you! glad you like it!! It's all on 24p actually!
@@VictorLaforteza wow that's impressive, you did an amazing job!
hey!! love this video, i wanted to ask what setting you record in? i've been recording on aperture mode on the a6700 but for some reason in my post grade, the dark parts of my footage are really grainy and have a lot of noise :((
slog3! try this one but do +1.7 to +2.0 (without blinking) on the metering.and then bring it down to in post. czcams.com/video/Fuvdn0Fyw68/video.html
for night time shots, try this tutorial - czcams.com/video/8XSi7agZN-4/video.html
thanks for this!!! just had a watch of both, just wanted to clarify, im using the zebra display but i still see the zebras at f2.8 and ISO3200 with a solid light source facing me, do you know how i can fix this? 🥺@@VictorLaforteza
try to ignore it for now and see how it looks in post! take another shot and lower down the ISO as well and compare the two shots!@@s0nia.t
Man, if I didn't already go so hard on the Nikon gear I'd be super tempted to switch to Sony.
I swear I’m always dead set on jumping to FF from my a6000… until I see your work again
I need to know more about your car adventure at Hakone(?), just came back from Japan, and want to so something like that the next time I’m going there
It’s called fun2drive! Amazing experience. FF definitely still have their place and both apsc and FF lines are super amazing! Gap closing for sure
@@VictorLaforteza thank you, I'll look into that!
Which Lut did you use to make the cinematic films? I'm seriously considering swapping my Canon r7 for the Sony a6700 with the 16 55 Gmaster 2.8.
I used my sunset film lut pack - specifically the film base LUT + kodak 2383. I don't know much about canon but the a6700 paired with the 16-55 would be amazing
Hey victor, Amazing videos. Could you help if you can shoot A7C2. Thanks
Vic, I know this isn’t your main channel (not meant to be), looking forward to more content on Taiwan.
Here’s an idea: Make a video on you enjoying a traditional style massage, I’d love to see what you think of it.
It’s coming! Just need a bit more time 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I recommend getting the g master 16-55 2.8 and a prime lens with a 1.4 f
thanks
Great video, beautiful images!
Can you tell me, if baking LUTs works with jpg or heif images?
depends on the LUTs but it could work!
@@VictorLaforteza Thanks for the info! Though could you please be a bit more specific. I‘m close to buying a S5 ii, because you can take stills with LUTs applied. I‘d really love that for travelling and when I take snapshots, cause I don‘t wanna edit files there but still want colors I like. So far I thought the S5 was the only camera to do that but now I saw that some of these Sony cameras let you do that for video but I‘m yet to find out, if it works for stills as well. Cheers
You can add a fan to the A6700, like the FX30 has, if you're worried about overheating.
I think it was a SmallRig cage with that fan option...
But so far I have no problems, even in the Philippines...
I am because I did extensive tests with overheating with and without fans :) for long interviews or event coverages, it’s not viable.
I want to live in Victor's color graded universe
We’ll make it happen 👀👀👀
And Fuglen coffe shop :) Did you try the norwegian waffle with brown cheeeeeese?
YA WE DID! That was a good afternoon snack
3:14 which lens is that? By the way I love the colours of your videos it’s very pleasing
thanks! it's the TTartisan 50mm f2
As a previous a6600 shooter the only thing that made me move on from it was the lack of internal 10-bit color, now that they have included this among other things in the a6700, I think this is definitely one of it not the best option for content creation!
Small and powerful that can do a lot for content creation!
Hi Victor, new to your channel. Great content! I picked up this camera as i am mainly a photographer who wants to get into video. I was wondering since i am new to video i was going to start using the s cinetone. My question is what would my base iso settings be for s cinetone? Also in the same setting what should i keep my zebra's at? Any info would greatly help me. Thank you so very much! 🙏
If I’m not mistaken it’s 125/400 similar to the fx30 and then the zebras should be set at 70-80. You could do 80-90% and then bring it down it post! Hope that helps man! 🙌🏽
@@VictorLaforteza Thank you, just to clarify would that be 100-400 iso? Sorry if it seems like a newbie question
@@Ryanphotos1 All good! It would be 125 ISO and 400 ISO for the S-Cinetone base ISO :)
@@VictorLaforteza Well I did it Victor edited my first video! Man that takes up alot of time. I'm sure it will get easier the more I do. Two questions if I may.. So for exporting to instagram do you have a video on that? If not any advice? Secondly I would love for my mom to watch this video of our family trip on our big screen tv. I was wondering would settings for exporting a video for tv still be able to play on a phone(not instagram). Basically want to be able to see it on big screen and phone but wondering if it's two different type of exports? Sorry for the long winded question and I hope you could make sense of my questions 🤦. Really enjoying your content I'm going backwards in your collection. Great stuff! Thank you so much
Hey man, I love your content, the storytelling, the vibe, the script, the framing, it's just amazing, Thank you for your great work. I have Two questions if you can please answer :
- We can see in some part of the video that there is an anamorphic image style on the edges, how did you got it without usin an actual anamorphic lens ?
- When there is two subjects on the composition like the one with you and your girl friend, how does the autofocus work ? does it put the two faces on focus or we need to make some specefic settings ?
Once again, thank you for your clean job, we can feel your passion through the frame. Peace
The soft edges, I just did in post using prism blur on DaVinci resolve! And then the autofocus works depending on which mode you set it. Wide will focus on the closest to the camera and the zone will be within the points. Usually you should Vlog around f/2.8-5.6+ so both subjects in frame can easily be in focus!
Victor, why don't you do a "low light performance" with the Zve10 using the 16mm, for we can see what is possible with this kit.
I know you would extract a lot with this lens and camera!!
I did a zv-e10 giveaway hahaha so I don’t have that camera anymore
f everything i really got impressed by how you have blur edges and how its splliting in rgb, can you please give a quick reply,
Thanks!
For the wedding shot at 6:21, what effect do you use to make the sides blurry and have chromatic aberration? & what lens was used for that?
prism blur on davinci resolve!
@@VictorLaforteza I see it! What settings do you usually set it as? & for the wedding shot, what lens was that?
@@TrenchfootSalvadorhighest strength setting, no blur, little distance, and power window! I used a 24-70mm sigma lens
@@VictorLaforteza Amazing, I will try those. I dont see Power Window though. And that wedding was shot on the FX3 since you dont recommend the A6700 for wedding shoots?
@@TrenchfootSalvador power window is a different setting (it's to mask the effect)
yup! that's right!!!
Hi would you recommend this camera for filmmaking like wedding events or commercial videos?
Commercials yes but not weddings or events. It might overheat
how about A7IV?@@VictorLaforteza
lovely thumbnail
Looking to buy the a6700 with a few diff lens, my only worry is the over heating issues. I live in Australia and summer days are 40 deg Celsius. Would this overheat quickly just recording 4k24? Don’t really care for 60/120fps but if it can’t record continuously in 4k24 for an hour or so that would really kill it for me.
If it’s continuous recording like an interview setup, yes it’ll overheat within 45-90 mins depending on how hot the ambient temp is. But if it’s burst shooting all day, it can handle it. I took it to Korea and shot travel stuff for the whole day at 30-35 degree Celsius weather and it didn’t overheat.
Im very lost, I want to get my first camera. I used Canon R6 M1, 5D M4 and Sony A 7 IV. I dont have a big budget but Im loving this camera but at the same time the Canon R8 is also good deal and a used a A7 IV is also. I want to do some content around my city and take photos around, i also want to be able to take some freelance offers when i need some cash in hurry. What do you think? and what lens should I get? with the A6700 i will get the 70-200 due to my style and work
If you want versatility, a7iv will be a good all rounder. The a6700 will be less forgiving but capable once you know how to use it. Lenses I’d suggest tamron zoom or sigma! They’ll cover most of the stuff you need
Hi, for the 6700 and fx30, is the slog and colour grading function on them the same?
Yes
08:25 Arashiyama??? Love your style brother!
You got it!!! Thanks brother! 🙌🏽
does a6700 have a separate setting on video and photo? If I have a fx30 then do you think it is good to have a6700 for phoyography? two same sensor cameras.
Yeah! It has a hybrid setting so when you flip from video to photo it saves their own settings. Depends on what features you need for photography but the image quality will be the same!
Im using canon m50 but saving up for sony a6700. Hopefully it will be worth it since the 4k on m50 the autofocus suffer and its getting old so time for it to retire.
Definitely a good step up! The m50 is a great starter cam but you’re right it’ll start to show it’s age!
which lens do you think is best for photography with this camera?
Can’t go wrong with sigma lenses!
what lens did you use for the macro shots?
Sirui 50mm T2 Jupiter
Victor, what font are you using for this video?
nt wagner and bebas neue!
I really want to get this camera for filmmaking but what’s ur thoughts on the overheating issue I heard about ?
it's great just can't do long recording times like an hour+ podcast or streams.
@@VictorLaforteza ok thanks I really wanna use it for 30mins short films any thoughts on that ?
should be okay!@@justinxdd5860
How do you get the bored corners? I love to know what it's called if it's in da vinci?
prism blur :)
I'm stuck between this and Fujifilm X-S20, I'm more of a photography guy but I still wanna do car spotting and some video work.
You’d do well with either camera! Maybe xs20 would be better and more fun
@@VictorLaforteza Which one's better overall tho?
I wonder what is the base ISO of it when shooting Slog3. I am seeing people say that it has dual base ISO (800 and 2500) But I'm not sure because I couldn't find information when I went to sony website. Can you share if you knew the base ISO of it? Thanks in advance Victor. I love your content.
That’s correct it’s 800 and 2500! It’s confirmed by Sony professionals
@@VictorLaforteza ohh! Thanks man 😃 I appreciate your confirmation. I'll test it out soon. 😊
@VictorLaforteza by the way, I wonder if that base ISO also applies to Photo mode and other picture profile such as S-Cine tone?

Very similar to my fx30! But yes I’m doing another one for the a6700 :)
bro dafak this review, I don't if is a movie or a review. Very good Job!
Ahahah thanks man!!
Hi, what lense do you recommend for a all around blogginglenses? I was thinking a fast zoom? Thx 😊
Sigma 16mm 1.4 or 18-50 2.8 :)
@VictorLaforteza Thanks for answering, many channels don't.
What lens do you recommend if this is your first camera and you need lens?
Sigma 16/30 1.4 :) or you could get the sigma 18-50 2.8
Have you tried photography with a cine lens on this camera?
Nope! But it should look great!
Would this be good to start shooting music videos?
Yup!
So the a6700 is the upgrades version of FX30?
Very similar performance but different body style.
What about the overheating issues?
just dont do long extensive recordings like 1 hr+ with 4k and you should be good.
The luts please !
Is this camera good for podcast or streaming?
1080p sure, but 4k it might overheat.
Is this blurriness at sides done deliberatly with grading?
Yup!
