Exploring the house reef of The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah.

These are video clips from an exploratory swim along the reef off the Dhigurah island in the Gaafu Alifu atoll of Maldives. The reef is located midway along the eastern shore of the island. Dhigurah in Dhivehi means a long island. The central location of the reef away from the fast channels at the northern and southern tips of Dhigurah ensures that the water here stays calm and safe for snorkelling. To the east lies the warm tropical Indian Ocean all the way to the west coast of Indonesia ensuring a clean and clear reef. The reef gets quite a few pelagic visitors too. Schools of Bluefin Trevally can often be spotted herding and feasting on seemingly infinite schools of Anchovies.

I'm thinking of going on September to The Residence Maldives at Dhigurah. This is what you can find doing snorkeling, right? And to got there you can do it on yourself walking/swiming or you need to go by boat or another vehicle?
