@Troysteece - I don't know about your opinion about it but I am concerned and disappointed the Bears didn't focus on DE and could have drafted Xavier Thomas in the 4th. The Bears could have traded down, still drafted Xavier Thomas and the punter in the 5th round.
Never in all my life as a Bears fan have i felt so good about the direction the team is going. Bless this man and lets get those 8 SBs!

Same. Beyond that one year in high school they went to the Superbowl (amazing) ... Then every Cutler year had something happen, whether it was the 4int the first game. The injury in the NFC championship, his thumb getting hurt, or just barely missing the playoffs.... We've had it tough. This is amazing. (All things considered Cutler still the best QB we've ever had, by far, the coaches just failed him)

@@jessefay4984 I mean he took over a terrible roster because the previous GM is one of the worst in NFL history. In just a few years it's remarkable how much better the roster looks. Now he finally got to draft his QB. If Caleb is even 75% of what he is supposed to be they will make the playoffs this year.
@@Jdubayou this roster isn't even good. You guys are basing all this on guys who haven't either 1)played an nfl snap or 2)played a snap for the bears. The odds of Caleb having a cj Stroud first year is extremely slim.

Bears fan here.. Every decision he makes... are at minimum logical... something we are not used to in CHI... Mediocrity became the norm before King Poles came on board.

Ryan Poles is great not because of just his talent and luck (#1 from Carolina was crazy), but because he gives himself mulitple opportunities to be successful consistently. For every Chase Claypool there has been a DJ Moore, for every Valus Jones Sr. Sr., there was a Rome Odunze.

I loved how he said the word “violent” when it came to defense. Long time Bears fan waiting for that violent mentality of defense to come back. I was ten years old when they won the superbowl, and that defense was overwhelming and took no prisoners. Make your opponent feel pain and wish they never lined up against your D. I hope this team can take the north. It’s been a long time in the making. Great job Poles.

I'm just sitting back waiting because it's a waiting game at this point. I'm not going to pass out any expectation. I will watch each game to see what each player does but trying to act as if my expectation ever came true is false. That's the reason our emotions stay on a roller-coaster.

@@Lobanium It's remarkable what Poles has been able to do given the situation he walked into. Pace left the org an absolute dumpster fire with no draft capital and terrible contracts. Poles has drafted incredibly well and pulled off one of the biggest fleeces in NFL history in the panthers trade. If Caleb is even close to being the player he is supposed to be this should be a playoff team this season.

hearing he stopped taking calls on Caleb and kept taking calls for Justin speaks volume. I didn’t like the Justin trade but after hearing this, i’m not as sour about it 😭 Hence why i’m not a GM though

While it's still not a guarantee that Caleb and this new offense under Waldron is a success, but here's why I feel better compared to Trubisky/Fields:
1) Caleb is simply the better QB prospect than those two were and he also has the best arm of the three (you can't teach that!)
2) Unlike Pace who waited until after the QB was drafted, Poles actually has solid "foundation" for his young QB as noted below:
Trubisky > had a very poor & new OC in Loggains, had a decent OL, so-so defense, but these were his WRs his rookie year (Wright, Bellamy, Inman, & Cohen)
Fields > also had a poor & new OC in Getsy, a bad OL, so-so defense, and while AR12 was on the team, this was his "lost year" and was never the same after it! While losing what was a shadow of what AR12 was, Fields's best WR was our 2020 5th round pick Mooney that year, but he never followed up after that season!
Williams > has a proven/experienced OC in Waldron this time, a decent OL, a promising defense, and the best assortment of weapons I've ever seen on a Bears roster! We're talking arguably the most talented WR trio in the league (Moore/Allen/Odunze), a solid TE duo (Kmet/Everett), and a solid RB trio (Swift/Herbert/Johnson).
Caleb Williams is doing everything correctly so far. Marvin harrison jr the exact opposite
Notice how Marv hasn't had anywhere near the criticism Caleb has? People have such weird obsession with hating Caleb just because he's confident.

If he wasn’t so good at drafting this year I would have said and I really did believe this Right after the Trade happened where I said He just made the worst mistake so far of his career By Trading Justin Fields but know I’m looking back a bit and seeing that he’s plan to ensure immediate success for Caleb Was so dam Genius.
Greatest trade in NFL history and it's still not done!! Second round pick next year could bring in another solid starter for years to come. Hope all the Poles naysayers are over themselves.
