Church of the Holy Trinity - Sanctuary of St. Archbishop Joseph Bilczewski, Wilamowice

On the way from Auschwitz (August 2, 2022), navigation took us to the small town of Wilamowice, where we were attracted by a very nice local church - Kościół Przenajświętszej Trójcy. The Neo-Gothic church with a 72 m high tower was built between 1923 and 1984 and today it is also the Sanctuary of St. Joseph Bilczewski (Sanktuarium Świętego Arcybiskupa Józef Bilczewskiego), who was born in this town in 1860. The town is also interesting because some of its inhabitants still speak a specific dialect of German, the so-called Wilam language, which is classified as a micro-language.
