  • At Centurion Boats the lamination process is very different from anywhere else in the towboat industry when we build a boat we take some pretty major extra steps to guarantee the strength the safety and the consistency of the boat during the lamination process and mainly we do this with a process called vacuum infusion. Vacuum infusion is a closed molded process that allows us to create a hull or a deck or small parts that are actually thinner but stronger and more consistent. We know exactly how much resin and fiberglass is in each piece and it's also safer for the environment. Through closed molded production we are able to save about 90% on emissions which is a the the big deal for us, both for our employees safety and for the environment.

Do you let the chopped glass cure before you start adding mat and cloth? Also is there a formula as to how much resin will be infused as to the length of the boat mold? Thanks
