In the WW books, Grail figures out that Darkseid can regain his true form by absorbing the energy of other beings, but he gets especially stronger and older if he absorbs the life force of Demi-gods and Gods. Grail then goes to hunt down Demi-gods and eventually Darkseid grows faster until what you see here. She even got Hercules’ life force. Diana finds out, goes after him and then Zeus shows up to save Diana before Darkseid takes her life force, too. That’s why she looks like an old lady; he’s sucking the life out of her. Darkseid then absorbs Zeus’ life force, returning to his normal adult form. Later on, Diana defeats him by tapping into the life forces inside Darkseid and compelling them to get out, nearly killing him. Zeus is apparently back off panel, Idk. Darkseid shows up again in the JL: Odyssey book, where he’s not as strong as he used to be, but still strong enough to wipe the floor with Cyborg, Starfire, Jessica Cruz and Azrael.

HELL YEAH! Here's to hoping that the finale of this story shows him snuffing Zeus and then permanently killing Wonder Woman. It would be a great swansong for her character and an awesome way to present Darkseid as a truly formidable enemy.
absolutely NOT. Wonder Woman is a DC staple and a character that MUST live on, they won't just kill her off to present a villain in better light. lesser characters for sure, hell kill off Zues if they must.. but not Wonder Woman! :(

SERIOUSLY!, her character is so wonderfully written, her personality, as well as her story.. she absolutely deserves more spotlight. they were on the right track with BvS and the WW movie, where she kills a literal god in ares, and stands toe to toe with doomsday, then they turn around and write her getting slapped up by f**king Steppenwolf... way to build a character up to be incredibly powerful, on par with superman, then diminish all her feats and abilities in the Justice League movie...
