Rice v. Connolly (1966) is an English legal precedent holding that there is no strict, general legal duty to assist a police officer prior to any possible arrest or caution, with even basic police enquiries nor to accompany the officer to a requested location.
This was also confirmed in the case of Neale v DPP )2021)

Assault? Isn’t it only assault if it’s an auditor against someone else. When it’s against an auditor it’s called reasonable force. One law for them and another for us. The copper is like a slim version of Eddie Hall. Just as aggressive though. The old guy thought he was tough, with his yellow hi-vis on. If a police officer says “is there anything I can reasonably do or say to make you comply with my request” is a signal they are about to go hands on…. It’s a prompt for other police officers to be ready, given there is only one police officer I am not sure it applies here.

That cop has no idea what breach of the peace is. Breach of the peace is not an offence. Breach of the peace is "“an act done or threatened to be done which either actually harms a person, or in his presence, his property, or is likely to cause such harm being done.” You can be arrested for breach of the peace but must be de-arrested once the breach has passed.

The copper dealt with the situation really well. Ten out of 10 for a disciplined, calm, respectful way of dealing with a very testing situation. Came across extremely well and a brilliant example of the sort of copper anyone would have respect for.

I've seen others when hanging out filming in public buildings where the security or police trespass people when they refuse to leave..
    All confusing around trespass laws.

What would have helped the police officer would be if the security guard said , here is my SIA, but instead he escalated it despite the very reasonable Viking police officer.

Technically the security was right in that tou don't give your details to a member rof the public. The only people that can ask to view it are the Council, the SIA and the police. That'll be why the Bald security guard gave his deets to the copper. Because he HAD too😂
