Plant Hormones - I : Auxin

The plants have hormone like small molecules that regulate growth, reproduction , stress responses, seed germination and response to pathogen . these are not endocrine as in animals but have a paracrine to autocrine function. the experiments regarding discovery of auxin, experiments of Drawin, Boysen and Jensen, and phototropism were discussed. The role of auxin in shoot and root growth, apical dominance , mutation in auxin metabolism were discussed.
