Everything connects back to J’onn’s death, Batman’s final decision, and Superman’s regret-it all has been leading to this final confrontation with Darkseid. Who lives (some do!)? Who dies (some do!)? Theory WHY Superman choosing to go save Martian Manhunter IS within his character.
MM is one of the few people who can relate to Superman, Both the last of their Kind, aliens in a world that fears aliens..., add in that he wasn't in a state where he could rationally make a decision like that, and it's not not a stretch he'd react emotionally.. Trying to save someone so close to him... As opposed to Hal who might be able to get help elsewhere, and no one else has the ability to save MM, it seems to me it'd be precisely in Supermans canonical character to leave Hal behind to try to safe MM.

Absolutely. Hal, at least imo, is a natural at integrating himself into teams/partnerships/etc. probably because of how wide and diverse the GLs are. Sure hes got his quirks, but he usually comes out in the end as someone that you Know you can call when somethings going down and he will do everything he can to come help. and in turn he inspires that in his allies.
I feel like MM is much, much more.. ephemeral, almost. He swoops in, saves the day with strange, insane powers and usually just leaves unless theres more work to be done. i feel like its not that common for him to be sucked into true Friendships the way we look at them. Hell, MM is one of the few, true blue failsafes to Supes, and beyond both being the last, theyve also both been GIVEN BACK fragments of their peoples or history, JUST TO HAVE IT TORN AWAY AGAIN.
I feel like MM and Supes bond, is one of the few genuine bonds that MM has where it is fully, 100% equal. They are the outsiders looking in, the aliens to earth, and the weight of the burdens on their shoulders surpasses most characters in dc. (Most, not all lol)

Talk about a horrible idea! If you have the Green Lantern Corps on the moon it would be a huge green light notifying the universe where to attack. It would be a target for bigger threats not necessarily being a deterrent or a shield to protect the Earth.
