if you're confused, this is from my AU/comic "Life Mission: Save My Brothers" where Leo is the only one Splinter managed to rescue and Leo grew up determined to find his missing brothers. you can read more about it on the AU's website: rottmntlifemissionau.carrd.co/#
for context, the comic has 5 arcs, one for each turtle and one more for the movie: raph's, mikey's, donnie's, leo's, and the movie. this happens on donnie's arc where he finally meets his family and visits the lair for the first time. prior to this, he snaps at leo for claiming he's his twin. after they spend some time alone and the tension died down, splinter explains how much donnie meant to leo and how much he wanted for donnie to exist, even though both of them thought donnie was dead.
i did my best to finish this in a day but it took more than 24 hours hAHAHA- but yeah, this is a condensed, more emotional version of what happens in a future episode. think of it as an alternate version uwu donnie's arc happens around christmas time so i thought this song would fit an emotional moment in the story.

The little smile they share while taking the group pic, showing Donnie’s accepted that he is loved and Leo finally has all his brothers again 💙💜❤️🧡

This is genuinely one of, if not THE, best and genuinely tear-inducing animatics I've ever seen. The camera angles, the expressions, the composition , all coming together into a beautiful crescendo. I friggin sobbed and laughed with joy when the climax of the animatic played out. I went into watching this expecting pure angst and sadness to the end. This was amazing to watch. It truly shows that no matter how far apart they are or how long they haven’t seen each other. Their bond will stay true no matter what. And that they will never be alone. They have each other always. I truly love that aspect of this story. And as the oldest of my two brothers. I feel for this even more. Because I know that even when I leave to start my own life or when they start theirs and when our parents pass. I will always have their support and love. Truly thank you for helping me express these types of emotions. I’m going to hug my brothers once I sent this.
