I stumbled across this channel and Dan Milnor’s videos yesterday. I am blown away by his eloquence and knowledge. It is rare to be both good at something and at teaching it. Also, the dude has excellent taste in eyewear! Count me in as a Fan.
Awesome, thank you!
Just started watching your videos. But I love your videos, and I relate. I am planning a trip to Vietnam, with 2 cameras, and 2 lens. Scenic but most will be photojournalism photos. My friend lives in Saigon, now Ho Chi Min City. So I have a tour guide. He was there in 1969-70, as a soldier with the 4th Inf., and re-visited the country 12 yrs ago and moved there. I am planning on a 3 month trip.
👍
I can’t stop watching you, I don’t know why but I can’t.
Thumbs up for the "mate"
Mate...you crack me up and inspire me in equal amounts.
The pause and stare into the camera followed by "my wife is awesome" was the highpint of my day and I've had a good day.
👍
Definitely agree with Silver Gelatin print over inkjet, any day!! Most people only get it when I show them a silver print from my darkroom compared to
an inkjet print from the same neg. It's also a hand made print as opposed to a machine made print, which to me, gives it more value.
No doubt about it👍
Always enlightening, Dan!
👍
You can't hide from your negatives, I'm gonna steal that thanks
👍
You were so honest about yourself that I subscribed you immediately. Decency is a high value.
🙏
Love these
Drinking mate. Wise healthy choice, beats coffee on many levels. Argentinians and Uruguayans drink it everyday.
Southern brazilians drink it everyday too.. love mate been drinking it since a teenager
I knew I liked you... the media part is spot on
Fantastic!
Glad you like it!
Hey really love your content this is amazing. What is your preferred editing software you use for videomaking , I'd love to have a conversation and maybe even collaborate on different methods in telling stories through film!
Tmax in Rodinal has beautiful grain.
Hey Daniel, could you clarify what you mean by 'fall-off' in medium format lenses? Something like inter-tonal contrast, or is it more to do with the dynamic range of the camera?
Shallow depth of field.
@@joeltunnah ah of course, I actually knew that, sort of blanked. Thanks
Not just shallow depth of field, as a lot of the GFX lenses are f2.8/3.5/4. It’s how the fall off, background looks. It looks better and makes the image pop and gives it a more 3D feel. It’s absolutely beautiful. Considering the GFX is the same price as a high end mirrorless (a7R4/Nikon Z7 etc) if you want a better look and the best quality then it’s a no brainier.
Your wise and inspirational words don’t fall on deaf ears, certainly not my own. Some may be looking to you for candy floss, but you offer caviar, Dan. The former gives a 30 second high, but the latter nourishes, satisfies and the taste remains!
Haven’t this been published before?
12:20 for most of the YT's is mostly about making easy money from nothing. so you copy what others say. Its the viewers challenge to filter that out and find the ones who have to say a thing from years of doing
. Its like hunting for the holy grail ;o)
Interesting video! However Tri-X can be pushed to 6400 without much contrast:
