    1. Impatience - be consistent and invest your time into practicing
    2. Perfection - allow yourself to improve from your mistakes
    3. Distractions
    4. Lack of inspiration - look for inspiration around you or in entertainment
    5. Drawing within your comfort zone - give yourself a brief idea and restrictions before creating
    6. Freelance work - Create and experiment for yourself
    7. Art style - a. Don't skip the fundamentals b. Don't worry too much about developing your own art style

Also I have no other artist around me to keep that snowball effect creative energy. I’m in the military and it’s so draining in all forms so when do get the time I’m far too drained and I find myself struggling with my art. My imagination also isn’t as wild as it was when I was younger.

      @ImadAwan  Před 4 lety +7

It's alright to not be creative all the time. :) Do not stress, do not tire your mind. You can always draw what you see around you.. That way, you'll think less, and do more, while enjoying the therapeutic activity which we call drawing.

More artists need to see this. I personally suffer from lack of organization and the advice of giving yourself a brief and setting restrictions before starting on an artwork has helped me a lot! Some artists may feel lost before they begin and so the thought of drawing when there's so many decisions to consider is paralyzing. SET THOSE RESTRICTIONS MAN. It helped me target what kind of reference I should be finding as well

Skipping the fundamentals is dooming your own artwork. However, and I think this guy gets it, specially if you're studying at an art school, you may find yourself severely uninspired, as all you have is mereley technique, merely theory, and all those aspirations you had before achieving to study in that school are just gone. It's a very similar chase to making comissions/ freelance work/studio work. This constant nonstop work and technique perfection will eventually lead you to depression disguised as "Art Block". Take a break, rest, find your motivations and go for them.

On this pandemic, I go back to my passion instead of traditional painting I am totally hooked by digital Painting, most of my artworks made by digital painting is good and some are still work in process coz I dont know how to continue it and sometimes I am lazy, I decided to go back again and think about concept art that related to Japanese warrior shogun and thanks God its destiny that youtube recommended your channel, and its so amazing. I was falling in love by your artworks so instant subscribed to ur channel, feels like you just played the brush at first and at the end you gave an incredible output. More artworks and tutorial. Hope in the future you should try Ibispaintx or some painting apps for android mobile and tablets, as I am using it for the beginners like me who dont have monitors or computers. More power Sir!

Most mistakes I see from new artists are proportion/perspective mistakes so for beginners I'd always recommend investing time in understanding proportions, perspective and overall 3 dimensional thinking. Maybe even spend some time in 3D modeling programs like blender or whatever. That's what I would add to this.

‘’Learn the fundamentals - perspective and anatomy’’ 👍
I’d also say, don’t be afraid!. Lot of artists make art with the constant thought that someone else is going to see it and judge it, and this limits what we do. Paint like no one else is ever gonna see it! Who cares what’s ends up in a painting? Who cares what others think?! It’s YOUR art. (But learn the fundamentals 😘)

I think the number 1 thing for me is the fear of failing, and I don't think I've ever disappointed myself, so really it's fear of failing in other people's eyes. The internet is not a kind place, and neither was my mom's criticism lol. And I procrastinate on things I'm afraid to approach. Lately I just push myself do draw at least few hours a day and watch tutorial materials. And trying very hard to stop caring so much about what people have to say.

(sorry english is not my native language)
my problem is perfection and too much comparing myself with others,i know i shouldn't but i keep doing this because of personal pressure and issue. I want to keep up certain people's level. I tried harder and harder, the result is not that bad but those people are still 10 steps better than me. thats really driving me crazy. i can't enjoy any of my hardwork. i became obsessed with perfection, eventually i lost my passion. Now i quit social media, stop drawing and taking a break for a while and then i just found this video.

      My dear friend! :)
Always compare yourself with what you were in the past. If what you are today is better than what you were yesterday, then you are one step closer to the tip of the mountain :)

I think most people struggle with doing something important, vs playing video games. It's actually very much to do with pyschology. The brain is always trying to create situations that give instant gratification, such as it needs a dopamine boost and it pretty much chooses anything that will give it the quick fix, regardless of how or what the fix is, the brain doesn't have the concious cosideration that we do, it cares not if you really need to do something more important. Also your brain's logical function is the same as much things in life, such as electrical current, water etc, it takes the path of least resistance, it is up to us to fight against it and think of a structure to train our minds to focus.

i learned to use my sketch first, then start painting.
Wanted to free paint an ice dragon... It looked exactly like my ugly hand painting, i did a few years ago... uninspired... so i learned that i needed a serious sketch first.
