  • In this video (Episode 11) we will be looking at how I created this master study painting of one of the most revolutionary pieces of art ever created titled "The Death of Marat" after Jacques-Louis David (c.1793). David is one of my favorite artists of all-time so I decided to take this iconic painting on with acrylic paint.
Often I see other artists sharing tutorials on achieving Realism with oils, but virtually none with Acrylics. I decided to start "The Painting Process" series as a way to share my techniques and provide the uniquely crafted approaches that I utilize for my own paintings. As I will show in this series it is possible to achieve a hi-level Realism without the use of oils, solvents, and 6 months to a year drying time...
My name is Alex Hess and I am a professional artist that focuses my craft towards Realism. I believe my paintings take a rather signature approach in the fact that very few Realism artists paint using Acrylics. If you like this content continue to join me by SUBSCRIBING to this channel. I'm guessing you don't like oils huh? I would imagine this would've been alot of fun to do in oils. But I take it you just prefer working in acrylics.
