10 minutes in and we already know this one is not for us. That’s why we love this channel. We get to see so many ships and we can narrow down our choices
I also feel that way. This ship worked for me, but there are a couple Dee and Jay have been on that I know I would not like. I get on the NCL Getaway this Sunday for a ten dayer. Excited!
No way - lol! Reminds me of what was once Miracle Mile in Vegas. Don’t know how you guys can do some of these ships. But thank you for taking one for the team!
I wanted off that ship before we even left port! Room was dirty, service (even room steward) was awful, and the crew at the muster stations had no idea what they were doing which made me very uneasy. This was 11/2019.
We loved our MSC cruise. The dining room service needs more staff. Sooooo busy. An opportunity for improvement for MSC. The staff doesn't even have time to socialize like on most other cruises.
I like the Dishing on Dinner Du Jour with DeeJay segment - or whatever you end up calling it. 😊 You give the most balanced food reviews I’ve seen. I hope you keep the “series,” even if it ends up being an after party kind of thing. 🤟
I'm really enjoying the food reviews as of late. Food is such a big part of cruising for me so hearing the reviews is important for me to make decisions as to whether I'd cruise on a particular ship or not.
Another great video! We sailed Meraviglia back in September of 2021 and there was 789 guests on board. There was 3 crew members to every guest. We spent hours talking to our cabin steward, since she only had 5 cabins. It was a very strange cruise, very relaxing due to no crowds, but kind of boring due to no "energy" caused by the lack of guests. We have also sailed Seaside and Seashore and can say that Meraviglia was just as stunningly beautiful as the other two.
Kudos Dee and Jay for another honest and insightful vlog. Looking forward to seeing how a “Back to Back” works on MSC and the Yacht Club piece. Thanks again!
Been looking forward to this. We will be in the Yacht Club in April. I do like that the muster drill is on your TV then you go to your station. Can't wait for the rest of this and your Yacht Club experience. Thank you!
I have heard only better and amazing things about MSC Yacht club. I have been on over 20 MSC and the normal experience is good enough for me at what I pay.
That lunch buffet situation was a mess! I get embarkation day is hectic but no ice for drinks? The promenade light show reminds me of the Freemont lights in Vegas.🤣
This to me was exclusively during embarkation. The intent is to be closed during boarding and previous disembarkation. When sailing and during ship days this does not happen in my experience. There are 2 sides to chose and other hidden sides to go in and out. I never had an issue for food while sailing on 20 plus MSC cruises mostly on Meriviglia.
I love the “Dinner Digs” part of you guys vlogs. You guys give your honest opinion. Food is important to me and you guys help me decide on a lot of things when I cruise. Please keep them and if someone doesn’t want to to listen they can stop watching the video. Sell on the MSC Seashore in July!
I'm on this ship in July, so happy to see this series. Glad there is a 8:30 dinner because online shows early as 5:30, 7:30 and late as 9:30. 7:30 or 8:30 would be ideal for me. I loved the visuals of the show with those crazy costumes.
We learned on this sailing that apparently, you've never guaranteed a dinner time. Even if you request one before you cruise, they'll assign you whatever they want once you get onboard. Strange!!
I appreciate you being honest! I won a 2 night cruise (TA) on that ship and I wanted off before we even left port. 😞 Our room was dirty and service was awful. We did pay for the Cirque performance and that was the best show! I got very sick the night before we got off and I think it was C right before everyone knew about it.
7:21 I will be on MSC Seaside in June 2023 only my 2nd cruise ever (1st was BP Grand Celebration..lol) and I hear mixed reviews about MSC which surprises me because their ships are so beautiful. Maybe it's things like this why I hear negative reviews about them.. gotta have the water working..
If they were going for a Las Vegas vibe they nailed it, right down to the Viva Vision ceiling! I'm not sure that ship is for me, but I'll wait to see how the next few days go. Everything was a little weird on this video. ;)
We were on the same cruise and you are being kind about your assessment of the cruise. Probably one of the worst cruise's we were ever on. Food left a lot to be desired and service was poor. That was our first and probably last MSC cruise. To many other cruise ships that offer better food and better service. We do enjoy your vlogs. Any chance of getting a list of your future cruises. We may be on the same one again. Blessings, Guy
Hubby and I were getting off while you were boarding. We had just finished a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise. When we boarded, we got right on as DIAMOND status, no waiting, Fantastica experience. We didn't hear ahead of time about luggage drop at the theater until the rooms were ready, so we were saddled with our carry on for3 hours. :( We hung out around deck 6 & 7. It wasn't until the 2nd day that I figured out how to reserve the PAID shows. That was poorly explained. Our #1 tip for the buffet is to go to the BACK of the ship and work your way forward.
We love MSC. Most of our cruises are Royal Caribbean with a few on Celebrity but we like the different vibe of MSC. Only issue with MSC is if you try Yacht Club it's hard to go back to a lower category of stateroom.
I had this ship booked in March 2020, which was canceled the day before, as everything was shutting down. Not sure I'd have cared for that show. But I like that cruise director. I get definite Alfred Pennyworth vibes -- if Alfred got fed up with dusting the Batcave...
I’m so glad I got to see u guys been on her cuz I’m picking this one for 2024 June & taking my bf for his very 1st cruise out of nyc she’s coming to nyc next yr
I see you guys had to navigate a maze to and from your cabin as well! We were in the same general location(also on deck 14) when we were on the Meraviglia in January. We got to see a rocket launch just prior to our sail away, so cool! They also put us in the late dining plan as well(even though I requested early dining when I booked it), sorry, we were sailing with a 4 year old and 8:30 is his bedtime! And even tho we tried almost every night to get into early dining, we never ate in our assigned dining hall, always buffet action..Saving grace is that if you go on the port side towards the front of the ship in the buffet area you will find the 'Family Area'. We found that this area was much less crowded and quieter then the main part of the buffet..All in all it was a pleasant cruise, just had to deal with that 'endless corridor' to get to and from our cabin! LOL
I have been on 5 MSC Ships and overall I think they are excellent value for the money I mean some of the deals are just amazing. The newer ships are spectacular however the main dining room can be hit or miss sometimes. That being said many only think the food is bad in comparison to Royal and NCL but if you compare it to most food on land it is still great and technically free🤣 overall I think if you love cruising and want a cheap cruise that still is great in every other aspect, I enjoy them.
Oh gosh those food lines! I'm very interested to hear ALL of your opinions, good and bad of your experience and than compared to Yacht club! I've sent people to yacht club who LOVE it.
Meraviglia was my first cruise in 2020 when she was still in Miami. It'll always be memorable for it being my first one. Loved my solo cabin and the spa, and the ship was beautiful, but my biggest issue was the service. It was very inconsistent and a lot of them were not friendly.
Far too many people! Yikes! Hand washing is the only way to battle norovirus - sanitizer doesn’t do it. Great food reviews again! Love Dee’s white sunshirt and cute little bag. You both have infinite energy 🎉
Embarkation buffet did not have that problem when we cruised. The inspection that held them up must be just a once in a while thing. They did run out of coffee (briefly) at every drink station at the same time one morning though.
I was scared for that roller skating act with the show too! Definitely a thrill, but I know that accidents can sometimes happen. I am curious about how that shower will be for you. Sorry the cabin isn't the best for ya...I think that overhang really cuts out the open feeling of the balcony, but also will give you shade, the right kinda shade I mean!
8:45 The Prima class is 16% smaller than NCL's earlier vessels. Kinda weird to see a brand new ship under 1,000ft long these days. Although, I've heard it's a great ship. Prima about 5 years newer but some 30k gross tons smaller and 60ft shorter than Mereviglia.
Wow....we didn't have to wait in line on that ship, but coffee cups were few. They need to rethink the buffet. The pool area seating on the back of the ship was our favorite hangout! I'm looking forward to the rest of this series!
Was on this cruise. ZERO food for celiac or diabetic people until almost 3pm embarkation day, and wouldn’t let us bring on anything. Dining timing and dietary concerns never got any better. Left the cruise DOWN pounds and starving! That’s never happened to us before.
@@parodeejay Same here, really love that ship, but the service was just bad at every turn. You seem to have been luckier than us so far or they have gotten better. We boarded at 1:30, waited 45 minutes for our first late dinner seating. Unfortunately, your Buffet experience seems about the same as ours.
We r going on the seascape in two weeks and they told us our boarding time was 3:30. That’s crazy. Way to close to sailing for me. We usually try to adhere to the times but not this one. That’s crazy. The one buffet line is crazy. That’s weird. I think ur right expect different with msc.
The main theater shows are included, but there are two pay shows in the Carousel Lounge that are extra. We'll be showing those off toward the end of our Yacht Club series, coming up next!! :D

We didn't use it a whole lot, other than seeing what events were going on. It didn't show opening and closing times for venues, dinner menus, or anything like that unless we missed it, so we didn't find it too useful.

Hi guys. As far as MSC goes which ship did you like better the Seashore or Meraviglia? Come May of 2023 I will have sailed on both
For the physical ship itself, Meraviglia. For the onboard experience, Divina. Oh wait, was that not an option? :P ~Jay
Are you guys never home?? !!! Have a great trip
In 14192 Parodeejay sailed the ocean blue!!!
Try your best to get walk in shower on April Holland America cruise. Avoid the tub/shower combination. It's like a 2 versus a 9, in the shower rating with Jay.
You probably know by now that the word "Meraviglia" is pronounced different because it's an Italian word. That goes for all their ship names that most people don't know how to pronounce.
We've wanted to try MSC, but I need to know if they have smoking areas or do they just allow people to smoke anywhere? I have a pretty significant allergy to cigarette smoke so it would be a dealbreaker for us if it's allowed anywhere 😊
They have designated areas like the other cruise lines we’ve sailed. You can’t just smoke wherever you like, fortunately!! :P
Do you remember what deck you boarded on? 5? Right into the Atrium? Thanks!
Sailed the meraviglia at Christmas. Lots of pros but my biggest complaint is that they have great ideas but the execution of these ideas are poor. I’d wish they would streamline the routine processes especially since it’s such a large ship but it’s hard to beat the value they offer!

@@parodeejay Beyond looks amazing! I’ll have to try it. Good ole Pride 😊
Hello thanks for the review how was the bed is it hard as a rock? I heard you can request for a pillow top
The beds were pretty comfortable on this ship, especially once we upgraded to Yacht Club for the next portion!! :P
That buffet situation was a nightmare, no thanks.
My biggest concern would be all those stairs for the drill. I have a hard time with steps. Is there a different option?
We presume they would allow elevator usage during the drill if asked, though in case of an actual emergency at sea or on land, you're asked not to use elevators due to the possibility of power outages during a fire!!
What specialty shows are there and on an 11-day Cruise how many formal nights are there are there other parties where we need an all-white night or anything like that I'm trying to get information on the daily planner and I have not been able to find it

Closed areas for food is not a good first impression for passengers.
I would love to know what they do to stop the chocolate sculptures from melting.
How did you find the MSC for me app what type of things are you able to do on the app?
We didn't use it a whole lot, other than seeing what events were going on. It didn't show opening and closing times for venues, dinner menus, or anything like that unless we missed it, so we didn't find it too useful.
Dee could you please share where you got your pants from?? I love them!
The tan pants are from TJ Maxx the brand is NYCC not sure where they can be found. The black trousers from dinner are Anne Klein also from TJ Maxx!
