  • Can you grow big largemouth bass in a small pond? Of course you can! If the bass have plenty to eat, they will grow.
Join us as we perform a population survey on a small, 2 acre backyard pond to check the health of the bluegill and largemouth bass populations. Although this pond is small, it is loaded with bluegill and golden shiners which are a key food source for largemouth bass.

Hey man I'm really enjoying your channel. I have been bass fishing since college(I'm dating myself here) 26 years ago. I live in a small town in SE South Dakota that has a 3 acre pond at an arboretum the private school in town built 20 or so years ago. It's private property but open to the public. In 2016 I caught my first ever bass over 5lbs at that pond. It weighed 6 lb 10oz and was 23.5 inches. I have caught several other fish over 5 lbs at that pond since then and it is always a blast to fish it. Most people in town would never know fish like that are right in their backyard. Of course most people in this state fish for walleye and could care less about largemouth so its kind of under utilized as an amazing bass fishery. I have recently been asked to serve on the committee that cares for the arboretum and pond since I'm always out there when I have free time. In recent years it has had some vegetation issues and I'm hoping to help bring ideas to the table to make sure this fishery remains as good as it can be. I wish you were closer to South Dakota as I'm sure you could advise us moving forward. Again, thanks for the great content.

Great stuff. I'll be contacting you. I have a very small pond. Maybe 1/2 acre. It has lots of fish though. Channel cats, blue gill, and bass.

This is my dream man, creating and managing trophy fisheries it would be awesome if you could upload a video on how to get started in the pond industry specifically what your role is? Are you a biologist or just some guy that loves growing big bass? Lol

We are in the multi year process of building a 5+ acre pond just south of you all in Live oak. At what point in the process would you advise we contact you all for a meeting?

I'm looking for a trophy bass lake/pond to fish. I have a terminal illness and this will probably be the last year I'll be able to fish. I wondered if you had any customers that offer any kind of rental or pay to fish locations. Thanks

I have a similar pond that’s 1 acre in size in South Georgia , can you give a rough estimate of how much this service costs? I’m trying to figure how much I need to save before my wife kills me lol
