    You can tell how scarred she is still. She's so emotional, you can hear it in her voice. Psoriasis runs in my family and although I do not have it, yet, I have seen firsthand the emotional damage it causes. It's heartbreaking.

      believe it or not but the body scaling like mad is it's desperate attempt to excrete toxins, because the main cause of persistant psoriasis is CANDIDA!!! a type of fungus that grows naturally in and on the body, the times you get psoriasis is when there's too much candida either in the gut and or on the skin. if you're looking for a diet then anything is fine, all you need to do is cut out sugar, as candida thrives on sugar. as for topical treatments; just before you go to bed bathe in salted water for a good ten minutes, dry your body gently and then rub malt vinegar in to the affected areas do this every other day until condition clears up (should take no more than a couple weeks), initially this is incredibly painful, what you will find is that your skin will redden and dry up a little straight after but do not moisturize (moisturizers give only temporary relief and in the long term create more skin trouble). in the mornings a quick shower to rinse off the salt, avoid using shampoos and soaps as much as possible, avoid synthetic clothing as your skin needs to breathe, and remain dry. also clothes you wear must be free of detergent and softeners so rewash clothes without washing powder or liquids (rinses don't work) sunlight is also good but too much; especially on damaged skin can trigger an immune response further affecting the psoriasis cycle. lastly do not pick, rub or wipe off the scales just let them fall off. if you follow my advice .then you will clear up your psoriasis sooner than you think possible. oh damn I kinda got carried away there. good luck

      So sorry to hear about being bullied! I have seborrheic dermatitis, so I can sympathize. I know it's not easy, but cutting out added sugar from your diet and eating whole foods can really help.

      The research shows there are 8 triggers for psoriasis: alcohol, smoking, inflammatory diet, stress, fatty liver disease and excess weight and viral activity. I spent 11 years trying to figure out how to clear/cure/get rid of my psoriasis. Not knowing what the research says on how to effectively treat psoriasis naturally. So I made a video called "How to treat psoriasis according to science - How I cleared my psoriasis". You can click on "align and inspire" (my channel name) to see it. I have been clear (no symptoms) for 4 years now. Love to my psoriasis family.

    I had a co worker who suffers from severe psoriasis. It covered his hands and his arms all the way up to his neck and my boss made him wear gloves because everyone would complain that they would have to touch the same things as him and they bullied him mercilessly, it absolutely broke my heart because my sister suffers from it so I always told everyone he's not contagious cut the shit but they did not care, He ended up quitting because it was too much to take.

    I've struggled with psoriasis since the age of 4 so I can relate so much...but I never allowed it to stop me from doing anything. On first dates, I always showed up wearing the most reveling things: let's get the elephant out of the room. Lord and behold, I never had anyone make me feel less because of it. First of all, I'd never allowed it. When you have psoriasis or any kind of condition that shows, it's visible, constantly present and in your face, attitude and self-love is key!

It’s just not fair getting to see people take off there shirts freely or just get to eat whatever they want without their skin going crazy. I have to monitor everything. Sigh

    I was recently diagnosed with psoriasis. For six months I thought I had a bed bug infestation lol seen five different doctors until finally I seen a dermatologist whom took one look at me and said you have psoriasis. Only after that moment of knowing what was wrong with my skin did my securities and mental strength return to me. It's hard to believe that I'll never have the beautiful glowing skin I once had before but it's made me appreciate everything else around me that I took for granted. I'm extremely happy now because I know what I need to know and I'm not going to die because it's not deadly nor curable but treatable. To everyone I send positive vibes and all love.

    My psoriasis showed up after I had my 1st child. My dermatologist told me some people will carry it their whole lives but it won't show up until after something traumatic or very stressful happens in their life(i.e. childbirth, loss of a parent, etc.). I do not have the typical plaque psoriasis, I have the "bug bite" kind but it's only on my hands and feet. It gets alot worse in the winter and if I'm stressed about anything, it really flares up. I hate it. Hopefully one day they will find a cure.

    Possibly the worse thing about psoriasis is that its really hard to diagnose- unless its incredibly severe its often mistaken for other skin complaints. It wasnt untill my scalp psoriasis appeared and my hair started falling out in chunks that the nhs doctors realised hang on this isn't just dry skin. Its so diverse, on me its mainly on my hands and scalp, so its less visible, however balding that reveals red scaly patches tends to make you feel like a leper in society people always commenting on it and asking if your have skin infections. It makes you hyperaware of everything.

      I'm so sorry to hear about that! I have been dealing with psoriasis for 2 years. I have it on my scalp, face(especially my forehead, nose), recently now my ears, arms, legs(the worst spots) chest, stomach...I have been stressed out because my hair has been falling out again in big chunks :( I really hardly have any hair left. It's so embarrassing. I'm not sure what to do.

    • @emmasmith8367
      @emmasmith8367 Před 7 lety +3

      I found that wigs solved my self confidence issues, its terrifying wearing them the first few times but once you realise that no-one can tell your wearing them it really helps! the kicker with psoriasis is that stress and irritants only make it worse, so try to work on stress and anxiety busting and use hair and skin products that are natural and non-irritant. I got to the point where even head and shoulders was aggravating it, I would definitely suggest LUSH shampoo bar- soak and float. I still have patches on my head but now that I use it it's nowhere near what it used to be and my hair doesn't fall out! For skin patches I tend to be weary because most things I've used in the past have simply worsened it, now I leave them alone unless they begin to get sore and crack, then I use a mix of oils I make to calm it.
      I can't really offer any more help in that because I've not made much progress in it myself but I can say that it's definitely come in waves throughout the years, I've been living with it for around seven years now and the only thing I can say is that your skin is not your life, even when I have large patches on my face and feel like something out of a horror film my friends are still there for me and my family still loves me.

    • @Haleyangelo
      @Haleyangelo Před 7 lety

      Emma Smith First off, thank you so much for leaving this kind comment! I really appreciate you taking the time to type this all up! :')
      I don't think I've heard of LUSH! Can you buy it at someplace like walmart or more of a cosmetic type store? Maybe I have seen it and just forget(I'm thinking I have now as I type it out). I'll definitely have to try it as right now I'm using head and shoulders...it doesn't really do anything for me.
      I guess I hadn't thought of a wig. That might have to be an option. As I'm sure you know, with losing so much hair, yes it grows back but it's gonna take a while :( I normally use things to cover my hair up like bandannas and stretchy headbands and leave my hair up in a ponytail or something.
      I really appreciate what you had to tell me!

    • @emmasmith8367
      @emmasmith8367 Před 7 lety +2

      It really is a case of trying a million things and hoping one of them works! But that doesn't mean it has to be a bad thing, I found that while swapping around my diet and my soaps and shampoos I discovered a lot more scents and flavours that I would have avoided without ever knowing how much I loved them. I even went vegan for a month to see if that had any effect, which was certainly a learning experience! (it didn't have any effect for the record) LUSH is a shop so if you haven't got one near you it could be difficult to find, they do heave a website that you can order from though? Hopefully you can find a way to access them, I live in the UK so I'm not sure how well known they are in other countries.

    • @Haleyangelo
      @Haleyangelo Před 7 lety

      Emma Smith It really is, each case is just so different. I think it's good to try different things to see what might do the trick. That's a good idea too see if certain foods would make a difference. Oh my! Going vegan for a month would be a challenge but I'm sure you learned alot about that! Ohhh! Yeah, I live in the midwest in the US. We may have it in the US but sometimes we don't have all the chain stores by me. i discovered psoriasis on my little 2 year old brother's scalp while combing his hair one day, but we didn't know what it was. That was 26 years ago and continued on and off but it was fairly minor. when he became a teenager it got severe, his legs were covered in the white and red scales and it was painful and embarrasing for him since he played a lot of basketball in shorts. He has used medication and it helps at times but of course it always comes back. unfortunately my younger sister also inherited it but it came about in her late 20's in the form of a heat rash not as the plaque type. i now have it as well, very small patches on my elbows and it came about in my early 40's. my daughter is seeing some signs of it on her elbows as well and she is a teen. i hate this disease and the fact that it's hereditary and it takes a toll on a person's life mainly because of the stigma of being affected.

    I was diagnosed with it at the age of 2, it was moderated.
    I also have multiple health problem that are chronic illnesses. I also went through a lot of mentali torture with other things in my life.
    And I can say for sure that I'm one of the luckiest bitches alive for not having Psoriasis anymore. It lasted around 6 years.
