I wished my plastic top popped off for easier cleaning. Attention Bissell engineers when you come out with another model
It does. Get something flat and pull off the head, with the tiny flat piece pop off the clear thing inside of the attachment dang the clear thing pops off
Mine doesn’t come off either some I guess do and I don’t have that little plastic thing in mine and same with my pro heat 2x it’s the older model I guess I been sitting here for hours trying to get either one of without breaking the plastic they don’t come off and it impossible to get that hair out if it sat. I let someone use it and they never cleaned it am livid right now. Lol also I have that same one he has in the video . I watch other video and each one I watch they where all deferent 😢
The snark version does its very nice!
Later models have removable heads
We watched the video, then my brilliant wife submerged the head in vinegar and swished it around and all the unreachable gunk in the head came right out. looks great. Thanks!
For how long
How long did you soak it
Recommend ALWAYS starting with water to clean ANYTHING. If that doesn't work, move on to other solutions (both literally and figuratively). Don't waste $.
Thanks for the advice!
so the clear plastic cap doesn't come off! Thank you
It does come off. It took a lot of strength for me to remove and some maneuvering with a knife, but it will pop off.
We have sooo much gunk in that plastic cap. I'm relieved to know it will come off! Brut strength, you say?? Got it! Thank you!!!
@@thedifficultdarling I just took the wire from the twist item you use to tie up a roll of bread and loosened it up with that. Then went outside and sprayed it fully with the garden hose from all directions. Good as new
Obviously, if people would clean as well as they can (taking it apart to dry before storing, or store while apart), it wouldn’t rust, clog, or fall apart so soon. I’m glad I watched this!
I don't recall getting hose cleaning attachment the clear cap on brush assemblyactuallydoes come off so .... What about white parts in dirty water tank i cant find a way to clean that ?
I just cleaned mine out I’ve had it a few years and never gave it a deep clean. It smelled so gross I gagged twice and had to run outside for air. But we were about to throw it out lol. Saved $100!
I just use a little vinegar and water to rinse out the dirty water tank. No bad smells😊
Thanks for this! Super helpful and straight to the point!🎉
thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I try not to babble on too much! haha.
Thanks for this video, it helped me to troubleshoot my clogged brush attachment!
Love it, glad your machine is back in action!
I got mine a few weeks ago because the reviews were so good and it’s not working at all like I thought it would even a new coffee stain it isn’t taking it all the way out. I’m gonna try this and hope it helps
My problem is that even though I vacuumed before using the machine, i got hair and some large debris inside the dirty water tank. Is there a way to open the white plastic part to really clean inside the dirty tank? Thanks!
Thank you for making this! Life saver!!!
Awesome! I'm glad it was helpful. Did you fix your issue?
I tried to clean mine, and that head is still has dirt stuck in it. I have used everything that I have to dislodge the hair from the head sides, even the vacuum. Uh, why couldn't they make it with a removable plastic cover. There's got to be an easier way to use this thing. Plus, people said this thing doesn't dry out compelling mold to grow in the thing. It's not my favorite thing, but it does help, for instance, sanitized a lot. I used it for my carpet, couch, and to clean a few pillows. Maybe I will put a review on the manufacturing side so they can adjust the price and the attachment head. Thanks for your video and troubleshooting tips
The cover even looks like it should come off. Not too impressed.
Mine sucked up so much hair that now it has a blockage so water overflows instead of going into the dirty tank 😭
Thank you so much for posting this!!!
You’re welcome, glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video. Help me a lot!
Thank you! Your video was great. Help a lot.
You’re welcome, glad it helped! I did another video about cleaning the machine if you ever have any questions. Thanks!
I put about an inch of water in the bottom of my sink and run the vacuum through after each use, it seems to clean the hose and nozzle really well. I used to struggle keeping it clean so I bought a new hose and nozzle and started this process and I have not had a dirty nozzle since and it take 1 minute to do!
Boiling water in a bowl
Soak the brush head for a few min
Give it a good shake a presto clean just like brand new
I bought one of these so thanks for this very helpful video!
You’re welcome!
Thank you for the tips super helpful
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You saved the day. So glad you are there for us!! Just subscribed.
Thanks Margaret! I appreciate the kind words and glad my video helped! Happy cleaning.
"Here's how you clean the head. You actually don't." 😂
Haha!
Very helpful video , thank you.
Awesome! I’m glad it was helpful!
Borrowed one, but a black valve was missing. Found it, but how do I put it back in?
I love the green machine but it is dumb that the plastic does not come off knowing it’s going to become dirty
I finally got mad enough I pried mine off! The only part that broke on the clear plastic was by the brushes. All the way around it didnt appear to be glued together or anything so Im pretty sure it's meant to come off, the engineers just didnt thoroughly think that part through! I super glued it where it cracked and snapped it back on. Works fine.
Since i had to clean up dog diarrhea, the thought of doing all this in the kitchen sink is😳. Using the bathtub! Im happy to have had the Little Green Proheat machine for years! After having dogs and cats, this is a must. I always worried about how to really clean and sanitize it well.
Use the available stain trapper accessory and the offensive mess never gets in the machine as it's captured in the stain trapper.
For those trying to clean the nozzle head, there's a tab inside the head that can be pushed down. After releasing the internal tab, just pull gently on the front of the clear plastic part to release the other two tabs and it should slide out.
Edit: For those who don't have the internal tab, try this. Thoroughly inspect the edges, inside and out. Try to pull up or pry on all of the edges. Don't force anything too hard. If that doesn't work, look for a screw and try to unscrew it and see what that does. Try opening the attachment along the seams. If everything fails and you really can't get it off, just pull up the two tabs on the front and swish some water inside to release the caught hair and stuff.

How can I clean the hose I recently bought an old used one and I'm having issues with the sprayer and suction
How do you clean the dirt tank?
I saw a vid that someone jus a bowl of cleaning water and suction it and the whole thing clean through
Thank you for sharing
You’re welcome, I hope it was helpful!
I owe you Maryland crabs, fixins and cold beer.... Thank you!
Sounds amazing! I’m assuming you were able to fix your problem?
The cleaner for it is caustic & ate my fingers? Does not tell you to use gloves so what do I do now? Tried two different cleaners for spot cleaning & other for pets?
how to clean out the nozzel is that set a bowl of clean water and let the machine suck up the whole bowl of clean water for about 10sec.. and that's how you clean it.. you don't need fanzy equipment
That’s another way to do it for sure! Thanks.
Great video, but mine is missing that “Hydrorinse” tool. But then I should not complain as I got mine from the “Dumpster Emporium.” It seems OK, but the suction is anemic (probably why it was left there in the first place). I think the hose is clogged. Is there a way to separate the hose from the machine so that I can unclog the hose?
I’m looking into this tool because mine is spraying minerals and ceasing to spray after a use, someone in a forum said the heating element is scaled with minerals and in my other steam machines that means the machine is supposed to be used with distilled water, vinegar is recommended in those to clean out the scale, but I can’t find a concrete answer on if vinegar can go in this machine. It’ll involve taking it apart if my scaling is really bad.
@nonelost1 bissell has the hydrorinse part for $15 on their website. I got my second hand from family and it doesn't have that part either. Little research I found the part on their website. Hope this helps. God bless.
Would an air hose work to clean out the wand better than the sink??
Possibly, I don’t have one but I don’t see why not. I imagine it would work.
Gave 5 dollars for one the o rings in the handle were cracked seen it before I bought it so that brings the grand total to 5 dollars and 84 cents.I have cleared my three cars my Neighbor has cleaned two cars and i've cleaned all kinds of furniture with it so far
Mine is from 2012 and it didn't include that part for cleaning out the hose. I wonder if I can get that?
same here, remove attachment and place end in hot soapy water, turn on, don't over fill brown water tank
There’s multiple ways you could clean the hose. Bradley commented that they fill up the sink with soapy water and basically suck up the water until the tank is full. You could use the spray nozzle in you kitchen sink if you have one. You can also buy a replacement online. The piece is called a “HydroRinse self cleaning tool.” You can find them online. I hope that helps!
Pretty sure the plastic cap comes off. Thanks for showing me how the attachment is removed!
The nozzle clog comes from the dirty water sucked up leaked into the first jet before the nozzle. The double o-ring does not not seal well.
Thanks for the info!
My nozzle clog is from mineral build up in the heating element. My machines that experience this are used with only distilled water to prevent this but yet still it happens after awhile.
How full do we fill the left tank with clean water????? theres no marks, but I see a straw inside it reaches to the top of the tank. Must be for air?? Theres no full lines on the tank, just fill it all the way up??
There should be a mark. Part of the plastic is a raised line and above it says “water.” When you are holding the tank upside down, as if you were to fill it. On the flat side you can find it on the left a couple inches down.
My sprayer stopped working after the first use. No clogs. I jump on Amazon reviews and see that I'm not the only person this has happened to. Returned it the next day.
Yeah sorry to hear that. Mine works fine but hopefully you can get a refund or replacement!
@@MyProjectWeekend i did a return to amazon and got the Hoover Spotless which in my opinion works much better.
Mine didn't work straight out of the box . Got it as a wedding gift so I have no way to return it😢
@wakenow1 well that just sucks. The Hoover Spotless i got in place of this has been working like a champ.
@@mykylc I actually got it to spray finally. I cleaned out the nozzle. I wonder if something got caught in it during factory testing, looked like a tiny piece of plastic in there, or maybe the part came out of the mold wrong and had a slug. Who knows.
We cleaned the couch and no dirty water filled the tank. Any trouble shooting tips?
I would start by testing if the machine has suction. You can fill a bowl with water and place the hose head in to see if it sucks up the water. Let me know! Thanks.
Mine is doin the same thing!
When you clean a couch, because it is so cushiony. It absorbs alot of the water deep into it. If you are not sucking it up at the same time you are applying the water, it will disappear. From my experience. Oh and try ducking up water from a bowl too. You will see if it in fact is drawling water.
Mines doing the same thing!
I was thinking the same thing until I put it in a bowl of water and it in fact IS sucking it back up! And my sofa is looking so clean 😊
Some people don't realize... If the dirt tank is full, water won't spray out
That clear plate on my proheat on the head of scrubber pops right off mine.
I did not get one of those with my machine.
What about cleaning the tank where all the dirty water goes into?
Any idea is sprayer is clogged on Handel?
Yeah you can try to use a safety pin or paper clip to try and clear any debris that might be clogged in there. Bissell Green Machine Cleaning Maintenance and Troubleshooting No Water Coming Out Cleaning Hose.

I actually figured out the brush part comes off
My machine sprays water, sucks up through the nozzle but doesn't go in the dirty water tank. My bissell didnt come with the gadget to clean the hose.
I wish I could clean out the plastic thing better but mines is the newer model
❤
What if the head is cleaned but there is still no water coming out
I found this video searching for O ring replacement... at the end of the hose with the tool off, you can see two O rings. I'm not sure if that's my issue...but I have a super hard time getting the tool on/off the hose.... Over time it's gotten to where I have to use all my strength and then some to get it on/off.... everything else works.... Oh, and you're never gonna get that tool head cleaned fully... it's IMPOSSIBLE
Hi there! I just made a video about changing the O ring. I'm not sure it will fix your problem but I did want to try and help. The O ring sizes are in the description of the video I just published but here they are again:
Large O Ring - 15/16" O.D. x 13/16 I.D. x 1/16"
Small O Ring - 9/32" O.D. x 5/32" I.D. x 1/16"
Mine didn't come with the hose cleaner how do i get one?
It’s called a hydrorinse self cleaning tool. You can order them online. Also, you might just consider cleaning the hose by vacuuming up a bowl of warm clean water after each use.
I wish there was a better way to clean the carpet cleaning head. Dog hair on the sides really is frustrating to try to manage getting out.
Someone needs to invent a soft bendable cloth covered tool to be able to insert and sweep trapped dog fur or dirt out of the wand head.
But what if no water is spraying out, even when attachment is removed?
Hhe hose might need to be primed again. I made a video on how to troubleshoot when water isn't coming out. I hope it helps: czcams.com/video/vO9tKC9ksbU/video.html
Sorry, my problem was the clogged sprayer, in case you are wondering what YOU fixed LOL
That’s awesome, so your machine is working now?
I didn’t know that little attachment thing cleaned the hose! Now I don’t know what I did with it. 😢
I don't even remember having one. Someone else in my family disappeared the box but it would have been broken down for recycling so \*shrug\*.
head needs to pop.of. mine would not pop off,.like Kathy said. I bought another machine by this is definitely a weakness and there will not be a third purchase of alsame
When I used mine the dirty water didn’t come through the other compartment so put it away then later I saw some water leaking out if the machine
Uh oh that doesn’t sound good. I’m not sure what’s wrong but it’s obvious not working correctly.
My machine did not come with that tube cleaning head.
Sorry to hear that!
Me either. I bought mine from Walmart so it may be penny pinching.
The real issue is cleaning the dirty water catch basin
I think you’re right. Having a clean machine will help it perform better for longer.
How to clean dirty water tank
I’ll have to do a follow up video for you!
@@MyProjectWeekend ok
I clean mine in the sink with dishwasher gel, filling up shaking and emptying, then repeat a few times. I also clean the rubber gasket at the bottom.
Major design flaw on the brush. Nearly impossible to clean. Should pop apart. Typical of modern design engineers. Never actually use the products.
Oh man, I don't know what I did with that little thing =(
We love ours! Sounds like you used to have one?
Personally I don't care for the hose cleaning attachment, the number one reason why is that I'll be wasting my soap. If I have a half a tank left I'll want to save it for the next time, not use it to clean the hose. I just fill a bowl with hot water and vacuum it up.
use hot water after dumping your leftover solution in a bowl or bottle.
how to clean the head is hard. There is a tattoo lady who shows a more detail method to clean this machine completely.
The vacuum had clear cover does come off
Awesome! I’ve heard from multiple people that theirs comes off. Mine doesn’t… I’ve tried and it will definitely break if I force it. I’d love to see someone share a video of one coming off.
@@MyProjectWeekend I agree. I do believe the cover comes off for some people's but mine is definitely feeling like it's permanently attached. My guess is that the cover kept being knocked off and people complained so they permanently affixed it (or maybe it tended to leak). It does even look like it still has the clip hooks on the flat edge.
Or bring that piece and just use pressure water when you wash your car . done.
I guess that’s one way to do it!
These are crap I paid 114 for the little green pet machine right out of box not spraying had to blow in the hose to get it to work pure shit
Why does that not pop off instead of us breaking our backs to clean it.
Why not make a product where you can’t take apart and clean “ 🤦♂️
I believe it has to do with it having an airtight seal but I don't know for sure.
This thing stinks. I wouldnt have bought it if I knew the head wouldnt come off to clean it.
