What I don't get is why no one just stopped the taunting and took her vitals to be on the safe side. Shouldn't that be a thing cops do if someone says they are having issues whether the cops believe they are faking or not?

Yeah won't be charged because of natural causes? The hospital is negligent - as she definitely had an issue that they refused or were incompetent to see - there is charges right there. Everyone involved should pay consequences. They treated worse than an animal. I’ve seen videos of wildlife getting better treatment than she did. If this is standard of treatment these days I hope my loved ones and myself never fall ill and need assistance.

Why even pretend that the hospital is kicking her out because she's "faking it", when the real reason is that she doesn't have coverage? The hospital made up the reason so that they wouldn't be liable for killing somebody. And they called on the goon squad to reinforce it.

I am not a doctor but you can clearly hear it in her speech that she was having a stroke. They all need to face criminal charges. This is so VERY SAD AND WRONG.
Not only did the police not address her medical issues but they treated her like garbage. Like she wasn’t worth their time. They yelled at her, talked down to her, accused her of faking her illness and literally threw her into the vehicle while she begged them to help her. It’s why my mom doesn’t go to anywhere with out me. I could tell she was having a stroke. The hospital should be charged - the police were told she was medically clear. But clearly she was not. The hispital clearlyvadded to the police’s aggravation. But humanity is gone. To mock, belittle, manhandle and cussed on anyone’s death bed is no way to go. I've worked in hospitals for many years in Arizona. Many of them won't admit a patient into a room unless they have coverage, if they have too, they will do it for a short period of time and "dischage" them, even if they are sick if they know that person can not pay the bill.
It is very common that that happens, very sad, I've seen it with my own two eyes.
A room per day can cost upwards of $3,000+ a night.
Yet our politicians have trillions in wealth to spend on wars. People need to realize government IS the enemy.
Money comes before health.
It's an extremely sad world we live in.

Why not just give the woman a ticket and leave her alone? They are the ones who escalated this! Was she causing a problem sitting in the chair under a blanket? As a retired officer I am sick to my stomach. A moron could tell that this woman is in distress. They should have called their supervisor and wheeled her back in for a second medical assessment and clearance. Not once did I hear them ask if there was anyone to call to pick her up. The hospital wanted to get rid of her and the police did not want to be bothered with her. All should be held accountable for her death. She was somebodies mother, somebodies grandmother and she was treated less than human. I would not treat an animal like that. Shame on them all. I hope she haunts them till the day they die.
My heart broke when I first saw the video. As a patient advocate I have many who tell horror stories of their interactions with hospitals and/or police. It’s unfortunately more frequent.
I am truly offended by their behaviour and can only imagine how this will impact the family. My prayers go out to all of them; I truly and sincerely WILL pray that she gets justice.🙏

This broke my heart as well. I had a mini stroke last yr when I was 60 & I cant imagine how the hospitals that discharged her did this to her. Unless the hospital is a pay or must have insurance to get services. She clearly wasn't Stable as the one hospital stated. Someone Must be held responsible for her Death. God Bless this Family. Hospitals get away with letting people die every single day. It happened to my sister in 2004 & my step dad just last nov. Get a lawyer & take them to court .

It so sad...In Singapore we have commercial about how to detect stroke...the hospital should put the lady stay for few days and the police should learn to detect sickness

in my community the police would simply call fire rescue to check her. it was so obvious that she was in distress, couldn't walk, trouble breathing. If the police officers had called for medical help they could have saved her life. that officer talking about being the lord's day, yet he was not helping her and appeared to not care. pathetic attitude towards lisa edwards.

Yeah I don't get why they didn't spend three minutes checking her vitals. It would have put an end to their doubts about her faking it. Shouldn't cops know how to check vitals?

It was horrible how they treated her and ignored her gasp for help in the back of the police car. And then when she stopped gasping it was several minutes before he even asked if she was okay. And still did nothing for several minutes after no response. And then watching him toss her limp body in the seating position asking if she was faking, and pulling her hair to raise her head. This guy and all the other one's are pieces of shit. I can not believe no Charges have been filed.

Who cares if the officers were medically trained or not, They were disgustlingly sinful and this behavior now will set a precedent on how cops handle people. I have to be the one to ask: why was she alone at the hospital? This is absolutely horrifying. The hospital should be investigated. Several people need jail time.
I was wondering the same thing. Why weren't they there with her when she was alive advocating for help for her. Why didn't they come pick her up from the hospital?

The PDs job is to Serve & Protect, most Departments give them EMT basics on recognizing seizures, stroke, heart attack, how to administer CPR, use a defibrillator, how to stop bleeding and how to deliver a baby. This was a lack of Empathy, a civil rights violation, elder abuse and neglect!

My heart and prayers go out to the Edwards family. I seen - and HEARD the raw footage of the incident. Clear cut case of negligent homicide. No hyperbole...all 3 officers need to be in prison. I'm a retired first responder, and I'm well aware of the parameters that substantiate the NH charge. Damn Shame!

It just proves once again that the wealthy get the care and the poor get the shaft. This was a "money" problem. When the cop was rooting through her purse he said she has a lot of money. He shouldve called her a taxi or Uber to family/friends or to another hospital.
