My Draco looked just like that after a crash. Pilot judgement error! I got it all put back together with just a few new parts, some good glue, and red electricians tape. You'd never know she was broken up like that! Flies great again.
Great video! Sucks about the mishap, but you did get some sweet footage before the crash. Hopefully you can get her back together soon. I would love to see a follow-up after the repair.
Draco is lucky to have an RC Nurse to stabilize the pilot after the crash. I think Draco was always doomed from the beginning. The real Draco crashed and I have seen a lot of crash videos due to the high wing loading. RIP mini Draco. You handled that better than I would have. I would have been kicking it across the field then got drunk and started fights on World of Tanks. She's still fixable.
Haha, that actually made me laugh out loud. I saw the actual crash video. The aftermath wreakage was very similar to mine. Well, I have an amazing community of mostly like minded people that make these situations easier. So thank you👍🤛
We have similar “after-crash” routines LOL!! I throw it, kick it around, get drunk and then play Texas hold em online betting the max bet before ever seeing the flop until it hits. I think it’s my body’s natural reaction to seek out some form of instant gratification after such losses. 😂🏳️
Sorry to see that wreck, man! You pushed it really well. Very impressed with your flying ability in this so-called bad airframe. Also, your ability to take a hit and keep your spirits up is great. Miss seeing ya in our Discord server!
Great filming! I had accidentaly reverse while thinking I was flying with SAFE and wanted to switch it off. It lasted a couple of 1/100 sec or maybe 1-2 seconds until I reversed it again and came up the forest again... But I did crash my Draco into the trees later last year :( depth problems :P
I saw the P bros with one and it had the prop reverse also, I wondered if an accident could occur if ti reversed, qustion answered. Hop on Horizon an get to ordering. Yall will be back up in no time.🤠💪🏴👍

I think that is why I stopped flying RC, crashes became too realistic and stressful. I want to keep my strong aversion to crashing and I feared RC crashes made me accept them too easily. I enjoy watching RC flying but I had to stop one kind of flying, RC cost money big planes paid for everything, except now I am retired, I just fly my own plane that costs me money. Maybe I should get back into RC, save money. That was an awesome flight, I very much enjoyed it, even if the crash was just for a second, too real. You had a smile on your face even after the crash, so all was good.
@@RCnurse I just flew my plane to go get gas. I took the 2 hour route. Did some cloud surfing. Good thing I had a younger guy with me who could tell exactly which snow covered field was the airport with fuel. We both had a 1/2 day pass from our wives so we went flying.
Really sorry to see this crashed Draco, i have one still boxed its the only way i can be absolutely certain i wont crash it. I Admire your philosophical resolve.
Hey nice flying! Well at least you were wringing that bird out before you dumb thumbed her in :) I've got a Draco too but she's a hangar queen because I don't want to crash her. All in all I think she's better off being flown like you did. This just makes more room in your hangar for your next plane!

I'm way late brother man. I did a similar accident. I moved reverse thrust to a short 3way switch and made positions 1&2 forward thrust and 3 reverse thrust and I've never had another problem Some hot glue and spackle and Draco will fly again!
Look at Mike Patey’s Draco crash photos, what a resemblance. I feel your pain. She is a beautiful plane and I know you will get her back into the sky again.
that sucks, in the early 90s I built a balsa wood sopwith camel with a .049 cox motor, was supposed to go in a big circle , run out of gas and glide down, nope went straight up came down full speed and crashed in a green at the golf course I worked at. 100 pieces.
Glad you admit you made a mistake. It does happen to the best of us. Sad it was the Draco but it can be rebuilt. Not sure I would spend over 1/2 the cost of a new one to do so however. I would save all the good parts and scrap the rest if it cost too much. I have my sights set on the new SWS Turbo Timber for that kind of money.
Gopro 12 was inside the cockpit, and gopro 9 was exterior shots. They shoot amazing video quality. Unfortunately, I did Crack the screen on the 12. It still works, though. Thank you, I appreciate it! 🙏
Maybe this isn't true, but I'd be willing to bet that the reverse prop feature is causing a lot of crashes... I have a draco and have hit the switch in flight twice now, fortunatly have been able to recover, but if you bump that switch while in flight or too early after landing, it can easily be game over.
With a pack that big you need to get it back much further, it must be quite nose heavy as is. I run 6S 5000mAh and push them back much further than your 7000 was. The plane will fly better and with more elevator authority if you get the CG back where it should be. Sorry for your loss, nice video up to the crash.
I'll agonize over a crash of one of my inexpensive FT foamboard builds; I'd probably go into a month's long depression if I crashed something like the Draco. 😊
