All people, beasts, trees and stone and wind
We all descend from the one great being

I once went to a concert of Heilung and was on mushrooms. That was the coolest and most formative experience in my life. With or without mushrooms, everyone who is into spiritual experiences should have seen this band live!
Oh, I saw them in concert last year, I was not high at all and I could not help but wonder what that would have been like, we walked out of the concert feeling like our minds were blown.
This one would be nice, as well: Heilung | LIFA - In Maidjan LIVE in which the female vocalist Maria Franz demonstrates an old herding call among other things
That one live is better than a studio version!
@@Furykidxxx Everything by them is better live.
Search for "Kula" if you want more of that stuff.
please do more Heilung. You should check out "Norupo", "In Maidjan", "Hamer Hippye" and "Fylgija Ear". Some background information:
Heilung is german and means healing or cure.
They are from Denmark, Germany and the Norway.
They sing in "Old Nors", "runic", althochdeutsch ("old high German"), German, English and "old english"
Denmark,Germany and Norway by the way....
The also sing in Proto-Norse and Proto-Germanic.
Why are you pleading them? It's not like you depend on them. Do you?
@@Pirustae Because it's a request channel kinda thing. Obvious.
And next "In Maidjan" from the same show, you'll really get to hear some insane, yet hauntingly beautiful sounds from Maria, the witch-queen lady.
Heilung is of Nordic-German origins (Norway, Denmark, Germany) and derives inspiration on the runic writings from Iron Age to Viking era. Heilung is German which means "Healing" in English. The band actually performs a healing ritual on the stage, its not "just" a concert. They are neo-pagans.
I love how she look at the camera, like she is looking right into you soul 9:22
Given her garb/makeup is loosely representive of the Goddess of Hel who rules over the dead, she might just be.
Heilung is the band I listen to when I want to feel grounded and one with my ancestors. I love them.
Heilung is a spiritual experience for a lot of people. Please try their songs In Maidjan and Hamrer Hippyer! Both are extremely intense in their own way.
I really appreciate your respectful nature with this react as well. Unfortunately many laugh at this or brush it off as nonsense but you can see how important this is to both the artists and also the fans. Thank you!
Heilung is awesome. Please check out Alfadhirhaiti or Hamrer Hippyer.
I was going to request Alfadhirhaiti but that might be my next request
@@BigSherm328 DO IT!!
@@MegapixelsofFun Thirded. Preferably in a darkened room.
Their live shows are amazing. They refer to them as 'rituals' and treat each show as such. They start with a cleansing ceremony, and engage the audience to participate in a chant, bringing each member together as one whole. It's amazing and an otherworldly experience.
The lyrics of this song, as far as ive heard, is from a text written on a stone in norway dated back to the viking age
I have seen Heilung live twice. It is definitly an experience on a different level. They usually dont interact with the audience so you can just immerse yourself into the music. It feels more like you are part of a ceremony than a concert, you might even fall into a trancelike state if your not careful 😉. My favourite songs in these live performances were Hamrer Hippyer, Alfadhirhaiti, Traust and Galgaldr. Oh and there are actually a lot bands like that over in Europe. Others would e.g Nyttland or Wardruna, the latter even whad a view songs to the tv series Vikings. Helvegen is the most known. Anyway stay healthy and wish you lots of fun during your reactions 🤘🏻
Man i wish I could see them.
I let my cat listen to Heilung. He is now a Sabre tooth tiger. The only band out there that is so metal it doesn't need electric instruments!
Skald - Run . Another wonderful tribal group singing in ancient Nordic. Beautiful vocals.
I love Helung, they are often on in the background when I'm doing many things, whether reading or exercising or just lazing around.
Maria's instrument (apart from her voice), are the two bones aof a human lower arm. If you did not know, now you know.
The vocalist with the antlers is Maria Franz. She is also in a group called Euzen . Watch the video Euzen - Phobia . You'll get to hear her beautiful voice in a more " normal " song.
Also check out Jonas lorentzen he just left the band and started his new band Nebala really good listen.
Just checked them out and cannot say whether I'm shocked or surprised about the electronic new-popish attire 🤔
Well, it's definitely sth else.
Krrigsgaldr : Spiritual War Chant.....and Yes,they are Mindblowing Live. The Vocal range of Maria Franz from Norway is unbelievable! She is using Human Forarm Bones as her Instruments....
Maria Franz is from Denmark
My favourite 'song' by them is Traust, off their newer album. I use the quotations because i believe each one, whilst is amazing in it's own right, are all part of the larger set and has a stronger feel to it as a whole piece experienced together.
Last concert I went to before the pandemic was Heilung. It was amazing! More please. :)
Time to check out Wardruna with Aurora - Helvegen, if you dug this one.

What am I supposed to do
If I want to talk about peace and understanding
But you only understand the language of the sword
What if I want to make you understand that the path you chose leads to downfall
But you only understand the language of the sword
What if I want to tell you to leave me and my beloved ones in peace
But you only understand the language of the sword
I let the blade do the talking...
So my tongue shall become iron
And my words the mighty roar of war
Revealing my divine anger's arrow shall strike
All action for the good of all
I see my reflection in your eyes
But my new age has just begun
The sword is soft
In the fire of the furnace
It hungers to be hit
And wants to have a hundred sisters
In the coldest state of their existence
They may dance the maddest
In the morass of the red rain
Beloved brother enemy
I sing my sword song for you
The lullaby of obliteration
So I can wake up with a smile
And bliss in my heart
And bliss in my heart
And bliss in my heart
Coexistence, Conflict, combat
Devastation, regeneration, transformation
That is the best I can do for you
I see a grey gloom on the horizon
That promises a powerful sun to rise
To melt away all moons
It will make the old fires of purification
Look like dying embers
Look like dying embers

Very cool..... from the noise making awesome thingy🥰😋
Honestly this might've been your best pronunciation yet, you did good.
Fylgija Ear/Futhork Live is awesome as well (same band/concert) Love these guys
Oh now you've ventured into my domain (just have a look at my playlist lol)! "Norupo", "Traust", "In Maidjan", "Othan", all great songs to listen to. You should try Wardruna as well... "Helvegen", "Lyfjaberg", "Voluspa"...
Hi family ... ah Heilung ah. I've wanted to ask you for a long time if you couldn't react to healing, and there it is, yea. Heilung is The Way, Maria Franz is the voice of the Ghosts, check out the songs alfadhirhaiti and In Maidjan. I wish you all a nice day family. Hail my Brothers and Sisters.
Maria is playing human forearm bones here. They have some trouble going through customs all the time lol!
The shield that one guy is playing has a design on it. The design is painted on using the blood of the three main members of the band.
Oden bless you!
Wotan bless you !
As a dane the hardest word to hear is you are the dieing embers of your tribe 😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪
No more heroes no more protectors berserks no valhalla no ancestors
The whole concert for the LIFA album is available on line... well worth seeing.
Watching you guys waiting for an epic drop...knowing you're just going to hear whispers from the gods in your sleep.
Suzy Q this is very different and I LOVE it. Good job Shem. You may find it interesting that they make their own instruments and clothing. And their sound is very special. It is deep. For what it is worth, I have read that they have been to the states. I too would love to experience this. It might be overwhelming, maybe!!!!???? WELL???? Yes it was cool!!!!
Ancient Germaic tribal music. Circa 200 B.C. Night music. Gaining focus and strength through the music. Getting mentally prepared to lay waste to Roman legions at dawn. Which the Germanic tribes did several times. Incredibley powerful music with utter minimalism of instrumentation and droning vocals. Almost entirely percussion.
Primal, visceral. I love this!
so this whole LIFA was their first ever live performance. was pretty good I think 🤘😎
Hehe! What have you gotten yourselves into here? This is quite a deep rabbit hole you've gone down.
Love that you dare to broaden your horizon. There are so much awesomene gems still hidden and you've uncovered a special one today!
my very first time to hit like, subscribe and the notification button on youtube.
And I remember when google bought it.
I’m so excited to see this reaction. 💞 it’s like when you intro two folks you know n want em to get along
I've known of this song for a long time, but your reaction renewed my love for the song. You guys are super likeable :)
Fun fact: They do use human bones in their instruments.
Lie those are the bones of oure national bird the swan
Another "fun" fact...they paint their huge kettle drum "body" with human blood (their own) and re-paint it once each year!
@@caythorgrimson they've said they use human bones. Even joked about it being hard to explain going through customs.
@@brandontankersley8107 yeaah that was a joke
@@caythorgrimson Nope. They use real Human Bones. In Europe it's ok for some parts of the human body.
They use real Bones so the Magic doesn't disappear. That is why we Scandinavians/Germanic People can feel a connection in the music. Like our ancestors calling for us from the other side
I loved your review of this song and performance, as I do all your work. ... So, there's something you don't see every day! ... But our ancestors did, at least if you're from European stock. Just think of that. We are all descended from people from often warlike cultures but also those deeply embedded in nature and the nature-spirit world. We all are survivors from that time and still respond to the hypnotic drone of a simple, repeated beat. Awesome in every respect.
Love Heilung! Glad you've done this, In Maidjin is another popular one from them. Still hoping for Eluveitie - Rebirth (music video) ❤
Heilung are magic ... i so much want to see them live .... and stoned 😂
A thumb up for the audio technicians ... the mix is awesome for a live performance like that.
9:21 the way she looks at the camera
I even thought I saw her eyes, because there was a strong feeling of her looking right at me
In Maidjan is just awesome and if you want a good work out song Alfadhirhaiti will pump you up. Oh and Odin bless you.
Love you guys!!
Mileth - De bruma e salitre.
Pagan metal galaico from northwest of Spain. They sing in galego. One of the official languages in Spain.
Epic batch of reactions wasn't it? 😄
Live performances from Epica, Nightwish, AND Heilung on the same night! 😂
Special props to everyone ponying up the cash for donations for these requests!
Y'all are being inundated with some of the best musical performances out there, and that can only be a good thing! 💖
Saw them live earlier this month, if you haven’t yet had a chance to see them live, I can’t recommend it enough, it was AMAZING!
Great singer and great band. This is so relaxing. My Germanic blood was singing along. Peace
Live they're even better, You're partaking in a ritual, the feeling is out of this world.
I always listen to Heilung Lifa when i go walking up the hills
They are amazing to see live. I saw them in Silver Springs, Maryland when they did their first North American tour last year. Not a concert, it's more of a spiritual experience when you're immersed in the moment.
welcome to the rabbit hole. BTW - this was their first performance ever.
saw them Nov last year, a ritual more than just a gig, so old it goes through your bones, talking of which, yes she is playing human bones
i have seen them live last year, and their concert a a complete experience , not only a concert. if you have the chance , see them.
They just announced new tour dates. I saw them in Jan 2020, absolutely great show.
this is origin of human music , and it's amazing !!
Damn it made you sneeze. G.B.Y. Ok a million and one. 😁
9:55 Can confirm, I listen to this show all the time at the gym. Perfect.
You should do a reaction to SKÁLD - Rún
nice reaction ...and bless u ; )
for the first time I have seen an artist performing using an animal bone
Interesting to know, this was their first live performance
i was at a live show at midgårdsblot in norway last year and they had the headline, heilung has uped their game a bit, best damn conscert i´ve ever seen.
Very cool band. I'm digging it! Reminds me of some of the unusual instruments that the band Soulfly uses.
I made the mistake of doing squats to this LOL. I'm so sore right now I can hardly walk.
THANKS SHERM!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOOOOOOUUU!
bless you
If you haven't checked out Alfadhirhaiti yet, do - in that one they're chanting out basically all the names of the Allfather Odin, also he name of his horse (Loki's son as a result of the time he turned himself into a mare - long story), his spear and his ring (forged by the dwarves at Loki's request).
God bless you. It's ok, I'll just wear a mask
So guys, one more reason to be a viking. ;-)
Greetz from Germany
Til Valhalla
Bless ya Suzie 😇
Bless you!! 😛
Bless you
thank u
Love the "blue do"! 💕🙏🤘
a fav group.. Some of those bones are human that you see being used.. also.. that rhythm variation at the end that ends the tune on the bones she is using... a standard journeying call back rhythm.
will go see them next year when they come to Sweden.
They re-create bronze-age music based on evidence from archaeological digs. They play bones, animal-hide drums, gongs, and modern instruments. They sing in Proto-Germanic (reconstructed language extrapolating from Old Norse, modern German, etc.), as well as English, Old Norse etc. The title of this song “Krigsgaldr” means “War Spell”; the song is meant to protect their village from approaching invaders.
The chorus is a phonetic reading of a panel of the Eggja Stone, a grave marker of Elder Futhark runes from 7th Century Norway. No one fully understands it, but there are descriptions of the stone’s preparation, various grave rituals, and a shipwreck. Doesn’t have anything to do with protecting a village.
Not Bronze Age. Late Iron Age and Early medieval (Viking).
It’s funny you said you were going to add this for when you lift. This is on my deadlift playlist
They are all I listen to when I lift. Just sets mind in right place.
This was their first live show ever....
i am amazed that this was their first time on stage
These guys are chill out for me after the hours of non stop DEATHCORE. :P
Pure magic
I also believe (I didn't see this mentioned) that this was their first live performance together...
This isn't music. You just went through a Northern Germanic shamanic initiation.
Rather southern germanic. Heilung sings in proto germanic and also dresses more like the southern germanics who lived in the forest and had a deep connection to it
You should also check out Wardruna-Helvegen . You won't be disappointed.
This is from their very first concert as Heilung.
This isnt a show its a ancient healing ritual. Watch the whole thing. The beginning is a blessing ritual from indigenous tribes.
New sub liking you guys good reaction
Love to see your reaction on Heilungs Anoana 🌒
The first time I heard this song I was like wtf... but then I listened to it again and again and again.
bless you Suzi
ancient music is similar all over the world. Just as we humans are similar in this world. But I love the Germanic, Scandinavian and Gaelic music of that time the most.
I'm imagining Heilung performing together with Diana Ankudinova.
WOW !!!
Fun fact the song tells the story of a village and a raid on the village
I need to go rewatch Vikings now
